I enjoy stage mixes because you can see their consistency as performers, but I think it takes away a bit from the actual performance. I HIGHLY recommend watching a single performance of this WITH the subtitles. I think you'd appreciate the song better if you know what their saying and aren't continuously pulled out of the moment by the constant stage changes.
Ok Ok. Ok Here’s some background information There are lots of teenage girls in Kpop And Kpop artists have fan meets. RM was not considered beautiful for the Korean eye or population. Especially in 2013, and he spoke about it. He said something like he is too tan for his industry to be eye candy. They prefer Suga’s ivory face. However, whenever BTS fandom met with the boys they said RM is cute. Or his dimples So the boys tease him. There is an Asian concept of flowers boys. I think I read it originated from the hwarang period before the Joseon era. There were 3 kingdoms. Joseon era is when they were nobility in Korea. The Kdrama in which V participate is inspired by those elite bachelor boys that were trained and schooled into higher education to protect the next king. Because a prince's life was short due to high assassination rates. Basically, if the prince died his servants were put into slavery his mother is banned from the palace it was like a chess game. In modern days there was a Japanese manga that portrayed 4 elite boys (like jocks in America) and this story was relayed in 3 or 4 adapted versions in Korea China, Thailand, and Japan. They are called flower boys This is why anyone can be a flower boy by shaping his hands like a v under the chin and say to a girl passing by, his friend is a flower boy. BTS always does that. RM wrote the song and the vocal line sings it. The same boys who tease RM about his dimples And the second thing about a fan meet is that someone from the crowd sometimes shouts they want to sue BTS because they are too beautiful. They said it is illegal. So this song is meaningful because of RM. RM loves Army and Army loves him. He didn't write about his infamous dimples. And he switched the fact that boys can be dumbstruck by a girl beauty and he created a new word illegirl. So in conclusion the song is a cutie pie because RM is. And it is sung by the best vocal line ever of BTS
RM is gorgeous looking and he has beautiful skin colour (likewise V). What I find sad is that all the members now look so "bleached" in official photos. The more natural they look, the better is my opinion. They should re-evaluate the beauty standards in Korea!
As a vocal line song, it does seem like it's a bit brief. I agree. The lyrics are very cheeky and they play it up in the performance but IMO most ARMY don't consider this as one of their fav vocal line songs cause like you said it seems like it's leading to something else. I think this is definitely one we like for the sassiness and choreo. It's a fun song but it's not Zero O'Clock or The Truth Untold for me.
Yeah, dimple is the kind of song u need to rest on. When i first heard Dimple it was the live perf. so i pretty much had the same reaction, the choreo eats the song up, visuals overload.
Watch a full performance as well as understanding the lyrics in English first THEN watch the stage mix. You'll appreciate it even more. This is like me watching highlights or snippets of a show instead of watching the full episode to fully understand what that episode is about in the first place. Hope you get me. Another amazing stage mixes are Jimin's Serendipity, Taehyung's Singularity, Jin's Epiphany and Jungkook's Euphoria. Definitely watch their full performance first though. Jimin and Tae's stage mixes get to me all the time. 😭💜
Thanks so much for reacting! I was wondering if you could give me a list of the songs you used in the beginning of the intro (the first 45 seconds), please?
This was also exactly my reaction! The song is firmly in my lower-range of BTS songs (the lyrics are so shallow in comparison to their other songs, and the melody is honestly a little too repetitive). But the choreo-the body rolls, the dimple winks-is total fire, and the whole vocal line elevates the whole thing with their charm. Performers through and through.
It's a fun cute song. I love it simply for what it represents. But yeah, it's no 00:00 which is fine. They had fun performing it and we all love to watch the performances, but I wouldn't class it as top tier
@@steph0614 I'm always impressed by their ability to improve every song through performance. I've always liked a song MORE when I see them perform it live (except when a member is sick or injured, of course), even/especially when it's a song I'm not particular fond of.

YESS as great as it is to see their range, it was a little too distracting visually, to be able to concentrate on the song itself
💯%
The way Jimin does that body roll in "Dimple" gets me every time! 😍
