I am more interested in how this affects the cows' health, and flavor/nutrition content of the meat. Are we expecting the cows biosystems to adapt overnight to this? Long range effects? We need to quit jumping on this Greenie bandwagon with our eyes closed.
Maybe so, but I believe it was the CSIRO that discovered the link between consumption of a small amount of red kelp in cattle feed and massively reduced output of methane in belching.
funny you say this as about 5 minutes ago I said the same thing to my house mate lmfao as well as they will start taxing all humans for the air that we breathe!. This New emmissions tax that these countries are talking about does not fix the problem. Nature is Nature.
This brings to mind the "Law of Unintended Consequences". Here in Georgia (the US one) many years ago someone got the bright (not) idea to import Kudzu for cattle feed. Problem is only goats would eat it (they'll eat anything) and the stuff is now overrunning many areas. Like in Florida they feed citrus rinds to cattle. That meat is just barely edible. Can't wait to see how this turns out. 😠
@@Xelenteontae_ Some species like sargassum are toxic yes. But most species are ok. Seaweed excretes salt from its tissue and only needs flushing with fresh water. Its been used for fertilizer and stock feed in many places historically.

Exactly, we know Klaus does!
The government probibly own shares in them
What else are they adding?

Cows living by the sea have always grazed on seaweed.
Unbelievable times we live in. Livestock dont eat freaking seaweed.
I'm sick of the mindless anti-science, anti-intellectual contrarians.
How utterly pathetic . T-bone tax .
What quantities will be used in the feed? It is toxic in large amounts.
It should be fine, in countries such as Ireland it was traditional to use seaweed as stock feed and fertilizer for the soil.
Its toxic what????
"new seaweed diet" !!
Cattle were being fed seaweed in the UK as farback as the 1950s !
Also Asian countries I believe.
Maybe so, but I believe it was the CSIRO that discovered the link between consumption of a small amount of red kelp in cattle feed and massively reduced output of methane in belching.
@Vote 1 Team Left on 26 Nov Also an ancient Irish trick to use it as a feed source and as fertilizer in barren coastal soils. Circa the mists of time.
@Vote 1 Team Left on 26 Nov Good on the Indians.
The meat already tastes different..anyone else Noticed extreme mount a fat in the mince??
But doesn’t fat = flavour? That’ll be their argument ..

Cow farts cause climate change. Buffalo farts dont.
That's really interesting. How come buffalo fahts don't affect the environment?

Its the same way with Canadian gas vs. U.S. gas.
US gas causes climate change but Canada gas doesnt.

get ready for sea-salty milk
Seaweed excretes the salt from its cells, just needs a quick rinse.

As long as you don't mind your milk tasting like seaweed 🤔
