The landowner could put proactive signage on that wall, saying “ private property of ________ to road surface. Use of sidewalk is allowed for movement through the area.”
The problem we have in dallas is they barricade sidewalks at intersections so they can panhandle every red light. We have tons of resources to help them off the street and they don't want rules. They interviewed people asking why they don't get into the subsidized housing and they straight up say "i don't want to be told what to do" sobriety, holding down a job and paying bills is too much for these people.
I'm not sure if they are new homeless people or they are just loitering like migrants I seen in other towns. I've seen homeless people dressed a little better than me and nobody wouldn't think they were homeless. 🤯
Bad news, the security person in the video had no legal authority to restrict or deny use or access to the public sidewalk. That is a dangerous game that opens the individual, the company, and the client up to litigation for rights violations.
@@wtfdff17 bad news Jason 1. I didn’t restrict or deny anything, I asked. That’s a big delineation. And two….. Chapter 17.44 Street Obstructions City Code Chapter (Chapter replaced by Ordinance 184957, effective November 25, 2011.) 17.44.010 Unlawful Acts Enumerated. A. It is unlawful for any person to obstruct or cause to be obstructed any roadway, curb or sidewalk by leaving or placing, any object, material or article which may prevent free passage over any part of such street or sidewalk area. This Section does not authorize any action in violation of any other Title or regulation. Thanks for stopping by my guy. 🫡
