About those errors, I had them too and the fix is actually quite simple if you still have the zip/rar file for PMX, or just redownload it. Before extracting the files, right click the the archive file > goto properties and there, at the bottom, there should be a field called "security" with a big unblock button to the right. Hit that, apply and then extract the files. The errors should be gone then, so no more clicking.

btw to stop the pop ups u go to the pmx folders and on the .dll files u go propertys and if on read only take that off do that for all of them .dll files then re start pmx editor and wolla

My PMX editor doesn't work like that. If I open a model it has all the materials checked, and unchecking them hides them instead of just deselecting them. There are more buttons on my materials window too. If anyone has that kind of layout I'd be thrilled to find out how I can keep all the materials visible when I deselect them so I can fit clothes and hair on my models. :)

Click in the above on the right at "Msk". There you get a List of all things you are wearing. For Seeing what youre doing Click on the >> In the right above too and then on sub. In the Msk you need to Click everything away what you dont like to move. so the Base needs to be gone. then just Mark the Whole Dress and move it. On the Sub side/Part everything will Stay the Same so you can See if it fits and where you need to work. I hope My english wasnt too bad and i hope that I help ed you a bit :)

so funny I was just here helping other people but now I have a question myself. I have a LOT OF skin showing on the base I'm using so I do what you did and I selected it and right clicked on the body (although not labeled body) the split option was greyed out. Help?
A little help? When I load a dress I downloaded into PMD, it appears like inside my base, and when I try to move it, it takes the base's joints and bones also, and it's impossible to move. Also I downloaded the dress you use, and it appears, once again, inside my base. Not only that, but it appears without it's colors. Just white..

Did you unblock the zipped PMX folder before extracting it? You go to properties and check the Unlock box and then apply, then extract. Mine did that too at first.

(i use the english version. its under the vert/mat tab) but as soon as i deselect the surface recording button the skin is there again. i dont know what im doing wrong and i dont want to keep punching holes in my model. can someone please help????

So, What do you do if your models clothes are not attached to the body. When I test my model I see that the dress I put on her does not move with the body. smileysface18 open the skirt in a separate pmx editor and move it behind where you think the model will be. Save that and close it, after load the skirt back onto the model and it should be placed behind the model for easier selection!

+Elize That might be an issue with not moving the joints or physics to be in line with the piece of clothing.

Also put all the textures where you put the model or dress.
I can help you with the whiteness. You have to have your "clothing" (in this case, your dress)files in the same folder as your base files.

Ughhhh I can't get the skin to delete. It deletes the clothes, and I checked them all off except body!

Do you know how to animate button popping in MMD?
What bone do you recommend rigging tank-top straps to? I've tried shoulder and arm bones but I can't seem to figure it out.

When I try to delete a certain portion of the skin, it ALL disappears...

when i try opening pmx it says it stopped working. do you know a solution?
even when all the textures are in the base file, they aren't showing but they are all typed in on the pmx edit?
MegaPsychoTron EB are you also typing the file type? (ex. eyes.bmp instead of just eyes)
