Thank you so much for taking the time to create this helpful video. I was so frustrated trying to make my first cup in my Keurig Mini Plus following the enclosed instructions for the My K-Cup. I NEVER would have figured out all this without your video, but am now enjoying my first cup at this very moment. So appreciate this video.
Thank you. Yes, ours is a Keurig Mini Plus, says "plus" very clearly on all the packaging and such, and yet needs that adapter removed even though the instructions say otherwise. What a headache! Thanks for posting.
Thank you for the instructions. I was about to return the My K-cup because I couldn't make it fit in my compact. I didn't realize the insert with the needle can pop out of the coffee maker.
I thought I was the only one! I’ve had to put it aside for a couple of days out of frustration and come back to it. And as a last resort, I came to RUclips and found your video. Thank GOD! Thank you for sharing your frustration to help others.
You're the man!!!! You saved me from taking mine back to Walmart and demanding my money back! Instead I'm sitting here drinking a lovely cup of Amaretto java. Thank you thank you so much for figuring it out for us all! 🎉
Thumb up man and thank you very much for the video, it's been half an hour that I try to figure how this fucking coffee filter should be installed after the coffee maker! ;)
Dude, ment to say Mr Dude (gotta give you my respect). Your You tube demonstration was right on point! Those silly direction that came with the Keurig made no sense. You broke it down Man, and I had my 1st cup of coffee using my coffee grounds!. I mixed regular and Hazelnut coffee grounds. Made my own gourmet coffee at the house! Thank you Sir.
Thank you! I was literally about to buy another My K-Cup because I was convinced I bought the wrong product with my Keurig Mini. SO many Months wasted until I found your video. You are a godsend!
Thank you SO MUCH! I’ve been using pods in my new “Mini Plus,” but want to use my grounds- I got that same Keurig universal adapter today at a Target, and thanks to you (the instructions that came with it were abysmal) I now know not to try to force it in with the supposedly correct Plus adapter on it! How weird, that adapter. You just saved me a lot of grief. Thanks, I appreciate it. Cheers!
Hi. Thanks for sharing this video. I bought a purple reusable k-cup at bed bath and beyond. The K- cup I bought is narrower, it’s used for the mini Keurig. The one you have is wider and it’s used on bigger Keurigs.
Ive have had a Keurig a while. I bought my first one at WM. It wasn't until Dec 2019 that I discovered that one I bought was made specifically made for WM when I called in to enact my warranty. Since I was not about to pay 14 bucks for the Keurig adapter when I got my first one in 11/2018, I bought the pink adapter that does fit the one made of WM. The first one lasted 13 months, so I called in and they agreed to give me another one. Got that last year in Dec 2019. Fast Forward to Nov 2020, and I called upon Keurig again to make good on another WM Keurig they carry in stock, but they were out and they upgraded me to the next size up - not a WM Keurig. When I called in this time, the rep told me that the pink adapter I use will void the warranty. Well I dod not stand for that and I was NEVER told that when I called last year to replace it the first time. So we went through all this mess to fix it and they decided to bestow a new on me, begrudgingly I might add. So I bought this adapter - it is a joke - just like in the video, it does not seat properly and it junk. they will not take it back unless I pay for return shipping. NO! so I bought anew pink adapter, and when this coffer maker breaks I will tell them I ALWAYS used the Keurig adapter. to hell with them! I'm am not on my 2 free Keurig coffee maker. Companies hope you do not access the warranty and will wager any people don't.
Thank you so much! I was ready to return my Keurig Mini Plus because I couldn't figure out what to do. Very frustrating! After watching your video I saw I needed to pop out the adapter to use the universal K- Cup to brew my own coffee!
thank you for posting! no info anywhere! was going to go buy a french press before I found this. I really don't want the hassle of a french press, so again, thank you!!!
THANK YOU!!! I am with you... I could not find a good video that clearly explained how to use the universal filter. You did an exceptional job explaining in detail and providing a clear video!! Keurig could have done a better job designing the universal filter for use and fit but I guess we are stuck with what they gave us. Thanks for making the video, and making my life easier!!
Ty so much... no instructions on in the my k cup.. in the instructions for my Keurig.. no instructions on an internet search.. and it’s short and to the point! 👍
You’re awesome sir! I am relieved to see that I am not the only one that had issues figuring this out. I mean who writes the instructions for these things? I’m going to apply for a position at Keurig because they obviously smoke the good stuff while working. But seriously, thank you for the instructions they should have given us!!!
GESH!!! Thank you so much for sharing this! I was about to give up entirely but I searched here on RUclips, desperate for answers and your video was the first one up! I truly appreciate the frustration in your voice, as I felt as if I was there with you, fuming over a coffee maker! 😡😠☹️😞🙃
So I just bought a Keurig Mini "Plus" yesterday and the universal filter. I spent forever trying to follow the instructions carefully, taking note to use the "plus" directions. And like you said - it doesn't work! So those two instruction booklets - one actually says it's just for Keurig brewers and the other one specifically says it's for the "plus" models. That instruction sheet doesn't even tell you that you have to remove the k-cup holder first. It just says to insert the universal filter and makes a point that you must use the adapter to work. Well none of the instructions made any sense and the filter was sitting up way to high to close the lid. I finally started googling it as a last ditch effort before I returned the whole thing to get my money back. Thankfully I came across your video! But there was still a part of me that thought that it didn't make sense that it would be called a "Plus" and yet you had to not use the adapter that is specifically designed for it. So I also called Keurig, explained that I needed help getting the universal filter to fit and to my surprise the customer service rep said the exact same thing. She said that the "Plus" models go with the "classic" Keurig brewers that have a touch screen and that what I had - really wasn't a "plus" model. Because of that you can't use the adapter and she said that it would slip around once you put it in the machine, but that was okay. Wow! How bizzare! I told her that it would maybe be a good idea to call it something other than "Plus" if it wasn't and that it was very misleading and confusing when you look at the box it came in and it says in big letters - "Plus" and that also is imprinted on the bottom of the machine! I'm still a little angry over this and all the time I wasted trying to figure out how to use something that Keurig designed, is expensive and doesn't even work if you try to follow the questions. What's even more amazing is that I'm writing this a year and a half after you posted this so obviously they have no intention of correcting the problem! UGH!!! Anyway - thanks again for taking the time to make this video to help keep the rest of us from going insane!
THANK YOU! I laughed at all the things I did wrong while trying to show my 93 year old mom how to use the adapter tonight! When you explained you'll be fishing it out . . . yep - I spent time fishing out the base after I tried to use it. Not sure why they include the base - for some other machine? But - thanks!
i like the step by step you have and at first thought I wouldn’t be able to use the adapter. However, I got mine to work WITH the adapter - I just had to push hard, and it worked!
THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! I was getting REALLY #!@#%$ frustrated and had just dialed Keurig when I thought of youtube and found your video. For such an expensive machine, this filter SUCKS TO HIGH HEAVEN! KEURIG I HOPE YOUR READING THIS! You are one great guy for making this video! My next single serve coffee machine will NOT be a Keurig! Thank you again kind person :-)
Why doesn't Keurig just tell you that you have to pop the other one out from the bottom in order to use the Universal My K-Cup??? It would save a lot of hassle in trying to find videos like this one. Thank you for helping out!!!
But they do. When you find the filter on the keurig site one of the pictures includes instructions. #5 clearly says remove the pod holder from your machine. I believe the instructions are also included in the filter box when you buy it.
Thank you your video was the best out there. We have been trying to for weeks to figure this out. And you took your time with showing your images well.
The model you are showing is the Keurig Mini Plus (the water tank is removable and the maker has a Strong [brew] button on top). The plain mini has neither of these features. This requires the adapter when using the reusable pod because the designs are not exactly the same. I suggest that you READ those instruction sheets and don't assume the "Plus" is a printing error.
Thank you for this video & explanation about the adapter. I got the Mini PLUS as a Christmas gift & used store bought Kcups first 3 months. Feeling guilty that I'm creating plastic trash I got the reusable. I did not remove the adapter because well it's a Mini PLUS. So it snapped into place, made a great cup of fresh ground coffee my self imposed stay at home Corona Virus morning is going great - ready for a second cup & oh, no the unit will not come out. On terminal hold with Kuerig I started searching online for help & watched your video. I'm not sure how I did this with little room to work with but I used a flat tip screwdriver to pop the adapter off and as you put it fished the cup part out. What a Pain in the! I'm letting Keurig know this ambiguous and/or deceptive labeling, instructions and product design (my Mini has a cut out in the holder area that the adapter snapped into place and yes, held it firmly in place as you noted) almost had me getting my old coffeemaker out.
Thanks for taking the time to make this vid. Honestly it seems to be more troublesome to make a good cup of coffee from anyone, and no I'm not going to do a pour over. I buy peets grounds, and I shouldnt have to buy beans and grind them. Thank you
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this - I was going nuts trying to figure it out and wondering why it was called "universal''when it did not work with my (pseudo) plus mini! THANKS!!
Thank you for the great instructions. I was going nuts trying to get it to work. Tremendous video. I did get coffee grounds but I probably put too much in the holder.
Thank you SO MUCH for this! Those directions were infuriating. The design is also so poor because it wiggles (not secured, as you said) when it is in the holder. So in my head, I was like, “this can’t be right!” So thank you again for this, brother!
I got my "Keurig" adapter at Walmart for $10.84 2 days ago. Mine also had 2 identical instruction sheets in the box. Had to watch a couple of videos to figure out which way to install in my B60 Special Edition Keurig. Have to remove the adapter arm from the filter on mine.
Very helpful, thanks! Also, the two sets of instructions aren’t the same. One is for how to take the Plus Series Brewer Adapter off for certain Keurig machines and the other is how to put the adapter on for other Keurig machines. Type of machines they refer to are illustrated on the covers of each set of instructions.
Lol thank you. Yes I actually see that in video the two different pictures on the front. Still from what I understood is to use the adapter for the Plus model, which doesn't work.
Thank you, thank you! Finally, I know what to do. BTW, the only reason they call one of them Plus, is that the water container is removable in the Plus
You have the plus. I see the, "strong" button on top. When they are referring to, "plus", I think they're talking about something else. I have the same setup as you and it took me a while to figure everything out.
Thank you for this! My daughter and I have been trying to figure this out since December!!! Mine came with two sets of instructions also! It doesn’t tell you that you have to remove the filter that comes in it!
Thank you could not find anything on Keurig I was going crazy trying to figure ths out and the "adapter " does not work for the K Slim model but your tutorial helped me
Thank you! The instructions were worthless and I couldn't figure out how to use the universal filter. I had no clue I had to pop off the coffee maker's plastic pod holder!
This was so helpful - thank you! I had the exact problems (looks like I had purchased the same $5 reusable basket filter purchased as the purple one you showed) before I found out I need to specifically use the Keurig one - then as you stated in the video I got the adapter piece stuck in the housing, it was a literal mess. The box & brewer as you mention DO say plus on them so I shopped for that specially which was $25 at my local Canadian Tire Store.
Just the information I needed, thank you for that. But let's not be dramatic here, it seats in just fine and it works. You may think it is "sloppy" but if they made it not "sloppy," they likely would have to make a special reusable k cup just for that style of machine instead of it being universal. Also, Keurig has products they put out to make a profit so I am sure they aren't designing products around the knock-off universal cups just to make those that want to save $10 happy. Great info, but not very objective for a tutorial-type video.
Hellllp!! We just purchased two, My K-cup, universal reusable coffee filters; looks exactly what you have. In the middle of both tops, is a little piece of plastic, let's call it a needle looking device. Both of these little pieces were loose in the filter baskets, one would assume they get inserted in the middle of the top. When you push them in, they go right through and fall out. There seems to be no way to keep them in place. Are they absolutely necessary? They will be lost in no time at all.
I was having the same problems as in this video, but after watching this and a couple of other videos, I gave the reusable filter one more try. The only way the adapter fits into my mini plus is to have its arm at the front of the housing, although this took some extreme pressure - much more than felt as if it was correct. But, once I had it in, it worked to make a really good cup of coffee. The only downside is that, when I took the reusable filter out of the machine, the adapter fell off into the housing well and had to be fished out. This happens every time. Really poor design, but workable, I guess.
Thank you!! I got a new K Select after my 2.0 was staring to go out. I figured the Universal Pod would work easily like it did with the other. Nope! You have to take every adapter out to get it to work with the new K Select Brewer. It's insane because this is the exact equivalent of the 2.0 but they made the pod part smaller? Very disappointing.
so its suppose to wiggle around in there like that i thought it would snap in or something but there are pieces on the outside of the lid that wont let it do that per say
i love the anger in your voice while explaining all of this, were clearly riding the same wavelength

Keurig made this way too complicated. Thank YOU for helping us figure this cup adapter nonsense out. THANK YOU!!
I tried for 2 days until I finally had time to sit down and try RUclips!!!! Thank you!!!!
Instructed with coffe filter absolutely useless!!!! Thank you for help.

Thanks for taking the time to speak with someone and find out about "Plus" vs P.
Omg I couldn’t figure out how to get the other part out! Thank you so much! A simple push from the bottom 🤦🏽♀️🤣

I was in your same shoes haha. I called Keurig and that's when lady told me the P is for plastic (in their inventory system i guess) not for Mini Plus
Why doesn't Keurig just tell you that you have to pop the other one out from the bottom in order to use the Universal My K-Cup??? It would save a lot of hassle in trying to find videos like this one. Thank you for helping out!!!

Thank you . Very helpful. I had no clue to remove inside piece of machine before I inserted Filter.
Lol...I almost went postal trying to get this thing to connect and you get it to snap off in a flash. Great tutorial / commentary .🤣
Thanks! I never expected this to get as many hits and be so helpful as it has been or I'd have put more effort into the video. few haters though
Thanks for clarifying those useless instructions from Keurig. Saved my day as I was trying to make coffee for my wife in bed and nearly fell flat.
Thank you your video was the best out there. We have been trying to for weeks to figure this out. And you took your time with showing your images well.

OMG!!😎🙏THANK U !! YOU are sooo efficient!! And i absolutely luv that you did this one handedly 😀 there is hope for me yet!
Thank you so so much for this! I was really frustrated and confused, but your video helped me figure it out! I really appreciate it!
I had no idea that little bottom adapter came off!!! I’ve chucked the refill k cup to the side because of that!!! Time to give it another shot!!
Thanks for making this video. I was seeing the same problem and you did the work of calling the company. Thanks for the solution to the problem.
Without your help, I doubt I would have figured this out, thanks!

Thanks for this video. I could not figure out how to use the k-cup in my machine. This video was very helpful.
I was killing my head trying to get this thing to work. Many thanks bud.
*I haven’t used mine in a month because I couldn’t figure out the reusable filter!* 🙄
Me too!!!!
Joce haha, glad I’m not the only one. I’ve since figured it out and it’s a game changer. 🙈
danibeans finding out even the kcup dispenser comes off got me heated!!! I’ve been washing it with my fingers 😂
Same here. Thanks to this video I was able to make it fit.
Anyone that would give a thumbs down needs to go away! THANK YOU! I wanted to chuck mine out the window!
lol thanks. I didn't have a professional recording studio but I got the job done
I got my "Keurig" adapter at Walmart for $10.84 2 days ago. Mine also had 2 identical instruction sheets in the box. Had to watch a couple of videos to figure out which way to install in my B60 Special Edition Keurig. Have to remove the adapter arm from the filter on mine.

thanks! I was trying to figure that out. Any clue how the 'strong' button works

You have the plus. I see the, "strong" button on top. When they are referring to, "plus", I think they're talking about something else. I have the same setup as you and it took me a while to figure everything out.
I was struggling with this all day. Thank you!! Now I’m mad because I like that purple one you showed!! 😆
And it's only $5! but it won't work in this machine because of the needle placement.
Thank you for this! My daughter and I have been trying to figure this out since December!!! Mine came with two sets of instructions also! It doesn’t tell you that you have to remove the filter that comes in it!
Thanks for showing us how to use it very helpful
Thank you could not find anything on Keurig I was going crazy trying to figure ths out and the "adapter " does not work for the K Slim model but your tutorial helped me
I also want to thank you, me and my wife tried to figure it out for 30 minutes!
After I work through my k-cups, I'm going to start using this! I got it during covid and I have never used it.
Thank you! Really annoys me that our inexpensive filters won't work with this machine. I got mine for $11.50 at Walmart, but really?
Appreciate this video! I was struggling with mine for about 10 minutes and was getting frustrated 😅
Thank you. I did not realize the adapter came off.
Thank you sir for saving me from a mini meltdown!!
Omg thanks for making this I almost returned my universal kcup but thought I’d look on YT 1st
Appreciate the video! I’ve had 2 coffee disasters trying to use this stupid thing.
Thank you, I couldn't figure this out to save my life.!!!!
THANK YOU !! I've been trying to figure out this damn thing for two weeks. I had given up. You rock!
I prefer the pink brewer cup, easy to use and cheap! Thanks for the video 👍🏻😁
THANK YOU SO MUCH you're truly the only video that has helped I use the coffee maker at least 3 times a time
Thanks! What else should I demonstrate that has STUPID instructions? IKEA furniture assembly required, lol
You saved me so much time and stress. Thank you!!!!
You just saved a new Keurig machine from being destroyed by my Louisville Slugger. Thank you.
Thanks, I couldn't make it happen and three others had tried.
I did use the $5.00 dollars one you showed and it works.
Maybe I had mine misaligned somehow. I still have the $5 purple one so one of these days I'll probably need it.
This literally saved me from going crazy - thank you!!!!☕️☕️😃👏🏼👏🏼
great instruction ! very helpful!
Thank you. I was trying to figure this out for the last 1/2 hr.
It is a k mini plus its not a printing mistake because it has a strong brew option, something the regular mini doesnt come with
Thank you , I was confused about the adapter
Thank you for showing me how to use yhe keurig coffee cup filter we had to buy like 3 of them and this was my first time using it.
The two books are because one is for classic brewers and one is for plus series
This was EXACTLY my issue. THANK YOU!
so its suppose to wiggle around in there like that i thought it would snap in or something but there are pieces on the outside of the lid that wont let it do that per say
Finally! Thanks for posting 🙂
Thank you I couldn’t figure this out by myself
Thank you, I was trying to use this with the adapter on, but didn't want to force it.
Thank you! You saved my life!!! Excellent video👍
Thank you so much! I was about to return mine. I will try it tomorrow!
