AB does it all! I did a RUclips search for "slow cooker corned beef" and low and behold at the top of the list was AB--a source I trust. I have been following his recipes for some time now and they never fail.
I’m with ya too, Mike! The first video that popped up was AB’s recipe. I’m making this TODAY!, LOL. He makes it easy, and very easy to follow. The only time I eat corned beef is a couple months around March when corned beef goes on sale. I think I’m gonna get me a couple more and freeze them for later during the year. AB makes it easy so, what the heck, why not! I do have to admit, though, when he opened this video with his comment about his previous recipe on southern fried cabbage, he had already had my attention! Thanks AB! I’m a new member! Can’t wait to see the rest of your videos. I’m a big guy so his videos are great for me!
Thank u so much! My Nana just passed away from covid and she did all the holidays- the holidays are gone now and my granpa is 87 and heartbroken without her- hasn't been on his own in 64 years- I've never made this before and I just wanna thank u for touching my heart and hopefully I can touch my grandpa's as well - God bless 🙏
I'm famous around here for my corned beef. What I do is take 4 -6 cups of water depending upon size of the meat and place in large stock pot. I then add 3 tablespoons of pickling spice to the water and bring to a boil and do so for app 5 minutes then I lower to simmer for one hour. I then strain the water to gather all the small spice pieces out of the stock I have made and return to the pot. Then I place the meat and add one med size onion at that time bring to a boil then lower to simmer for no less than 4 hours. I then add carrots. I now use baby carrots as they are fast and bite sized and I love carrots cooked with the meat and this spicy stock so I will always do at least 4 lbs worth. Once carrots are about half way cooked I add potatoes and a prepared veggie stock about 4 cups worth and bring back to a boil then simmer till potatoes are done. I then removed all meat and veggies from pot place in covered pan to a warm oven as I then add my cabbage and another onion to the stock and and cook such till tender about 30 minutes or there about. Serve with butter and horseradish having medium heat to it.
I put a half a bottle of beer to mine last night with a cup of broth. The veggies and the steam from the slow cooking in a crock pot produces more liquid. That broth is so comforting!
Literally just got done eating dinner on st Patrick’s day using this recipe. I’ve personally never cooked corned beef n cabbage before but I’ve had it several times/ways. Holy moly was this the BEST I’ve ever had in my life (50) my wife was skeptical about the carrots and bay leaves but I’ll be damned if she didn’t go back for seconds! Ty for the level up and I’ll never eat it any other way again!
Ok sir!! This was perfection!! I'm a busy nightshift nurse so crock pot meals are a life saver for my family. This recipe was really forgiving, I didn't get my veggies in till closer to the 6 hour mark and it was still delicious. Can't wait to try your other recipes! Thank you! ❤️
I made this recently for my family and they loved it. It was my first attempt at cooking corned beef so I didn't know what to expect. PERFECTION!!!! I'm making it again today. Thank you so much for your awesome help in the kitchen. I'm a fan, for life.
I'm a little late but cooking this today, for the first time in my life. Followed the recipe, we'll see how it tastes in about eight hours! Looking forward to it, thanks AB!
Made this tonight, 3/24. It has been our favorite corn beef recipe and I've tried several. We made a horsey sauce to go with it with sour cream, horseradish, a tad apple cider vinegar, pepper, and very small amount of mayo. This recipe and that sauce made for an outstanding dinner. We will be adding this to the rotation, as the gentleman suggested. Thanks!
Made this tonight, and was AMAZING. Best corned beef and cabbage I ever had. Minor substitutions... Minced garlic instead of fresh cloves, and red potatoes (because those are what I had) but absolutely delicious. Thanks AB!
I also put in cloves, a bit of brown sugar and white vinegar. Gives it that little bit of bite - love love love your recipes!!! Cheese sauce all the way and top - that’s what’s for dinner now 😜
I’ve been cooking more often for baby girl now with all that’s going on keep on simplifying them recipes I appreciate you👏🏽🙌🏽 stay safe out there A B & Family...
I'm so excited to try this AB. I live in the UK but my mum and dad are Irish I always make boiled bacon and cabbage for St Patrick's Day. Thanks AB and hope everyone stays safe at the moment xx.
Hey Brother, I am Irish, in my later 60's, and since I have been having to cook the Corned Beef and Cabbage on my own lately. It has been a distaser. Learned several new things watching your video! Looking forward to finally having this turn out right! Thanks a Million and God Bless You!
I left a comment earlier saying that I was trying this recipe today, right? 8.5 hours later, babyyyy LISTEN!!!! Let’s just say that THIS meal right HERE came out soooo Gooood!! So delicious. This was so simple & easy, Thank you AB, THANK YOU ❤️🙏🏾
Thanks for the video...I followed your instructions to the letter, and this dish turned out fantastic! I made it for a gathering of six people and everyone loved it...well done sir!
I can't wait to make this tomorrow! I'm embarrassed to say my grandparents moved to America from Ireland, I grew up with corned beef and cabbage, and I've never made it once for my kids - who are all teenagers now. Better late than never. Thanks, AB! Recipe looks tasty and easy - exactly what I was looking for!
Embarrassed/? that food is absolutely delicious if done right. you should never be embarrassed about cultural Cuisines especially if they're incredibly awesome.
AB, YOU ARE DA MAN ! Adding onion, garlic and chicken broth takes this dish to another dimention. Thank you for your forsight and showing this 30 yr veteran chef a new trick. I guess you can teach an old dog.......
this is one of my boyfriends favorite childhood meals and I found your video while looking up how to make it! I just started my crockpot up and I'm looking forward to trying your recipe, I've never had corned beef and cabbage before and to be honest my mouth is already watering! thank you for this helpful video
I was raised in England and my grandmother was a true Victorian cook. She did corned beef brisket and cabbage occasionally and I loved it. Thanks for bringing it back to me. I am now 78 !! I’m definitely going to do this. You broke it down into the essentials which I can do. Today we have great tools like slow cookers which helps a lot. The result looked superb and just the way I remembered it, Btw, big cabbage fan too!
That meal is a beautiful thing. You plated it up and I heard sop whispered in my ear. I know them Irish does soda bread but I'd prefer cornbread right there. Thanks for sharing.
Hey AB! It's truly crazy around the world at the minute and folks are just plain scared. That's why it's really important that we have content creators like you to lift our spirits and calm us with your recipes and sense of normality. Even if we can't get hold of the ingredients to cook with, it's still a boost to see you cooking. Keep doing what you can, cos it's a global public service. Thanks buddy!
I just put this in my crockpot. I am praying this isn’t too salty for me. I did use low sodium broth. Hoping the potatoes and cabbage will soak it all up!
OK I've cooked CB & Cabbage before but this was awesome, always just used water. This time I followed your instructions with the chicken broth and the leftovers were even more amazing as well as the stock. Thank You!
Two of my favorite things!! This is so easy!! I am definitely adding this to my rotation. Yes I learned from you to always use broth instead of water. Adding this to my grocery list !
Broth sounds good, but I always find corned beef wen I cook it w water is always very salty imho,so I am hesitant, but tempted.....might add beer instead😂
I've never made corned beef before so I bought one and just watching videos on here to see how other people do it. This is the best video I've found so far. Also the only one who has a preseasoned chunk of meat like what I got from the store. They didnt have any with the little packet. Hopefully this evening I'll have an awesome dinner thanks to you.
That's what I like... simple and good! Your channel is my go-to for this kind of stuff, and you didn't disappoint! I needed something easy and tasty, and this is the ticket! Thanks
How do we get this man his own channel? I absolutely found love in the kitchen again. What a sweet man. I have made this a few times now and added it to the rotation. His recipes are on point!
I’m actually cooking this right now, step by step, i know it’s gonna be good, I’m hella excited, family and I can’t wait to eat, especially grandpa, anyways hope everyone has a great day thanks again for your cooking
You should try it with Guinness instead of stock. It’s a great flavor in my opinion. But yours looks delicious and I’m gonna do it like you did. Other than the cabbage because I like it fried too much . Great video great food
Appreciate ya bruh-bruh... Finally a Chef that I can trust. You brought me into your kitchen, spoke to me straight up, and kept all 💯... Real folks like flavor in their food, and it's not supposed to be a science project. I'm a new Dad and cooking for the Family can test anybody's courage. There have been a few dinners where I was chopped up and grilled by the Fam.💩. But all the recipes here are winners🤤 I don't usually write long posts, but I really wanted to express my gratitude. And encourage you to keep doing You, cause Real recognize Real. Spread the Love
I just found this channel . Was at the store walking around it helped me decide what I wanted to make. I have been watching a few other ones. As a single dad raising a daughter I’m always looking for new ways to be hero in the kitchen for my daughter. Thanks AB I’m hoping to be smoking stuff this spring. Saving up for a smoker now. Looking forward to putting more of your videos into my food rotation. Have a great holiday
"Smokin& Grilling wit AB,"",👍,on a day like today I knew you would be bringing one,,,👏👏👏👏👏😋😋💯💯🔥🔥🔥this look so good,,I went to the store a few days ago, and couldn't find a Cabbage nowhere,,,but I will be trying out this amazing recipe real soon,,,this is the best channel ever,,👍Westcoast Listening.."
Hi AB, this is a great recipe!!! The same way I’ve cooked it for years . The only difference is , I usually cook my carrots 🥕 separate. But man is it all good !!! Leftovers, great for hash or Rubens! Love your channel!
Wow! I came from a predominantly Irish family and this is the closest to the Corned Beef & Cabbage recipe passed down for countless generations. You’re the only one I’ve seen use bay leaves, onions, garlic and chicken broth other than my family. The only difference is that we do it on the stove top with homemade chicken stock and add a generous dollop of real butter at the end. (I’m actually making it now for St. Patrick’s Day dinner tomorrow.)
Thanks so much!! I'm so grateful for your cooking tutorials AB your Awesome!! You keep it real and to the point!! Tried several of your recipes and all of them fire.. I need the link for your cook book. Thanks so much you cooking easy and fun.
I'm back again for my yearly fix! I had to work yesterday (St. Patrick's day) so I'm making this today. My day off. This is by far the BEST corned beef and cabbage recipe on RUclips. Simple, easy and to the point. The chicken broth makes a world of difference. Thanks AB. Happy St. Patrick's day. 🍀🍻
Just made this today...Seriously the best corned beef I have ever had. Cooked on low for 8 1/2 hrs as suggested. Made no changes other than adding some butter and salt, and if I'm honest, its only because I personally used too much water and diluted the seasonings. This is my 3rd recipe from AB, and he has yet to disappoint!
I’m 1/2 Irish and I actually make a variation of this at least once a month, it’s so delicious 🤤 I used to slow simmer it on the stove but then I tried cooking the corned beef in the slow cooker and never went back to babysitting it lol Great video as always!
In these very trying and depressing times, you are so uplifting and awesome, AB. Another mouth watering meal that I will make. Everything I’ve made from your recipes has been downright yummy. From your big fan up north, Mimi
Sir I tried your recipe last night and it was FANTASTIC!!! Thank you so much for your help with this crockpot recipe! Can’t wait for leftovers tonight! 😋😋😋GOD bless you Sir and thank you again!
Another great recipe AB, YOU inspired me to cook up a CB today... lol.. My favorite thing about Corned beef is the left overs, I use it to make Chunky Corned Beef Breakfast Potatoes, using quartered Red potatoes cooked in a cast iron skillet until crispy, then add large chunks of Onion, Bell Pepper and chopped CB. Finish with chopped Green Onion and fresh Parsley... the smell is out of this world. Love what you do, keep up the excellent work my friend..
AB does it all! I did a RUclips search for "slow cooker corned beef" and low and behold at the top of the list was AB--a source I trust. I have been following his recipes for some time now and they never fail.

I feel that a lot of people will not be going out for St. Pats day. This would be a good alternative. Thanks for the recipe.
I agree with you Craig. I also think that the stores still have Corned Beef and Cabbage available. Easy meals on this fine St. Patrick's Day! :)
@@SmokinandGrillinwithAB They had plenty at stores in San Diego. I'm following your recipe exactly.
@ Enjoy!
Yum looks good
Corn beef is really salty, you need to rinse it before you cook it
Ok sir!! This was perfection!! I'm a busy nightshift nurse so crock pot meals are a life saver for my family. This recipe was really forgiving, I didn't get my veggies in till closer to the 6 hour mark and it was still delicious. Can't wait to try your other recipes! Thank you! ❤️
Just like my Dutch Grandma made for her Scotch Irish husband of 55 years and 13 kids and grandbabies! This is prefect, thank you!!
I made this recently for my family and they loved it. It was my first attempt at cooking corned beef so I didn't know what to expect. PERFECTION!!!! I'm making it again today. Thank you so much for your awesome help in the kitchen. I'm a fan, for life.
Just like my momma makes! Another great, tasty, filling recipe. Good for the heart and food for the soul! Thanks AB! You are always spot on.
Thank you Duane. I appreciate the comment :)

This is by far the BEST corned beef and cabbage recipe on RUclips. Simple, easy and to the point. The chicken broth makes a world of difference. Thanks AB.
Happy St. Patrick's day. 🍀🍻
I have to return to this video every year too.
@@triciamcbride9179 I made over 20 pounds of food yesterday. 14 pounds of corn beef. All my friends came over and destroyed it all!
I tried your recipe and want you to know it turned out wonderful. You could not go wrong with what you have. It was perfect!
You sound a lot like Marshawn Lynch. That's a great Irish name if I ever heard one! Nice job with this!
I’m 1/2 Irish and I actually make a variation of this at least once a month, it’s so delicious 🤤 I used to slow simmer it on the stove but then I tried cooking the corned beef in the slow cooker and never went back to babysitting it lol
Great video as always!
I will be making Corn Beef and Cabbage tomorrow for the first time because of your easy recipe.
Thank You & I Love You ❤️❤️
In these very trying and depressing times, you are so uplifting and awesome, AB. Another mouth watering meal that I will make. Everything I’ve made from your recipes has been downright yummy. From your big fan up north, Mimi
Happy st Patrick's day ab. This looks good. Keep it up. 👍☺😋😊😉
Thanks Jeremy and same to you my friend. We have to make the best of it :) BE safe and have a good day bro!
Shout out to everyone who made this today 😂😂😂 happy St. Patrick's Day ☘️🍀
I have about a hour left until I can enjoy my first homemade corned beef dinner!!! But y'all! The flavor and the SMELL IS SOPPED UP 😍😍😍
You are my #1 Go too for EVERYTHING!!! Thank you so MUCH!
Sir I tried your recipe last night and it was FANTASTIC!!! Thank you so much for your help with this crockpot recipe! Can’t wait for leftovers tonight! 😋😋😋GOD bless you Sir and thank you again!
That's a California accent right there. Thanks Big Homie👍
I used this recipe last year and I’m using it again this year. Thanks for your recipe. 🥰
Me too! It turned out wonderfully both times!
I love the way you explain eveything. I never thought to add chicken broth. Thank you so much
I hope my store has some corned beef left.I am going to use my Instapot..
