Look at how the Panthers played. It's all 5 man defending and focusing on offense only when they need to. That's how you win in hockey now. It's the best strategy, to shut things down.

McDavid is the goat, class player. He will get his cup I have no doubt. Panthers fought hard and it's difficult not to be satisfied that Maurice and Luongo finally get their cup.
It isn’t McDavid’s time. Crosby lost to the red wings and Gretzky lost to the Islanders. Yeah… everything… 2-9-1… 0-3… right
@@safejewel2072 Oh please...Edmonton had LA, Vancouver, and a gassed Dallas.
They were like the 5th best team in the league this year, in reality. They played a Panthers team that played a ton of hockey over the last 1.5 years...Oilers overachieved
@@Aforg209 to add to this. This is Vancouver with their 3rd goalie. Edmonton got so lucky they weren't on the Central side of the bracket that had those 3 monsters, and the defending champs Vegas.
@@safejewel2072 talking about their playoff run.
@@crushdavis7048 Silovs played awesome, but yea, I think a healthy Vezina-finalist Demko would've taken Van past Edm. Edmonton deserves credit for almost pulling it off, but they weren't the best team either way
Connor rules. Best player in the league. He gave everything to win it for the Oilers and even though I'm not an Oilers fan I respect the hell out of McDavid.
Best choker in the league, I agree. 😂
Ngl I feel bad for him. He has a lot of potential. Hopefully soon enough he wins a cup, but it probably won’t be with the Oilers
Had to remove the last part cuz yall wanna attack me… yall just mad
He has a lot of potential 😂😂

Canadian or american what's the matter ? Stop thinking that ''american team'' are better or whatever y'all not special
@@ffnc258 I agree. This ain't the Olympics. I'm not obligated to route for the Oilers just because they are Canadian.
@@ffnc25830 years straight. Stay mad rookie
Winning 3 straight games doesn’t mean anything if you don’t win the Cup.
Where was bro at in game 7 tho 😭😭
He aint exactly Crosby
@@CJMattias They're both equally good. McDavid got drafted by EDM. That's an instant L
You didn't watch then?
All over the ice? Dude was a constant threat. Just because he didn’t score doesn’t mean he wasn’t one of the best players out there tonight.
@@KirbyQwoplol cope much?
I can’t express with words how absolutely horrible I feel for him ☹️ he deserved to win the cup and I really wanted to see him win one. McDavid is a generational player and so fun to watch. I have no doubt he will get another shot at it!
Did you feel bad for him too when he refused to return to the ice to accept an award like a manchild in the midst of a temper tantrum?
He did not deserve to win a cup. Nobody deserves to win it people earn it. This is not a children’s game where they get a participation award he didn’t deserve anything.
As a Panthers fan, i don't understand why they do this. Mcdavid had already had enough. You make this worse.
I'll root for you next year.
"They did a good job of shutting things down." He said it. That's exactly the winning recipe in modern hockey. Look at Team Finland's recent world championships and Olympic gold win. Look at how the Panthers played. It's all 5 man defending and focusing on offense only when they need to. That's how you win in hockey now. It's the best strategy, to shut things down.
McDavid had to lose this one so that he could win his next three Stanley Cups finals. Life doesn't allow you to just win it easily the first time, you have to lose before you win big.
Yeah Pavel Bure of the canucks reached the final did not win the trophy and after he never got the trophy again how do. U explain that ?😡
Although Bure was one of the most exciting players to handle the puck, I'm not even going to try to explain it if you're comparing Bure to McJesus. 🙄
LMAO cope harder. Lemieux, Sakic, and MacKinnon would never lose in the Finals. 😂😂😂
This is probably the best interview Connor has ever done! probably definitely!
I am not the biggest hockey fan in the world but in ten years from today people won't remember who won the cup in 2024, but everyone will remember the Edmonton Oilers coming back from a 3 game deficit to play in the Stanley Cup final.
Agree to disagree…The Panthers won…the Oilers lost
@@mikeyoungblood1642 moron. the panthers were lucky bobrovski stood on his head. if it wasnt for him the series would have been over last week. florida didnt beat the oilers. borovski did
As I was rooting for Florida seeing this interview made me sad. He just looked like he was going to cry the whole time. Props to McDavid for making it through the whole thing because I know it’s very hard to do
As a Caps fan, i've seen Ovi do that kind of interview way too much. But you have to lose in order to win later. Keep pushing hard, Oilers should win soon.
Never have a cake walk like that again la then van 😅😅😅😅 won't see them back for another 10 years
1st game I ever watched, amazing, this guy didn’t seem to leave anything left on the floor!
I can't believe some people are ripping on Mcdavid. I would be over the moon if the Leafs would go past the 2nd round. So proud of the Oilers they will learn from this & win it all next year
still losers
'but what about the leafs?!?' lmao
@@BrentSkwark EDM made it all the way to the Finals. WPG/VAN/TOR did not. its still a W
If my Leafs don't win the cup, I consider it a lost season. You make it sound as if it's a Canada cup and all you have to do to win is be the last Canadian team in the playoffs. That would make sense if we actually played eachother. We don't...
@@BrentSkwarkBlackhawks fan here, but the most hilarious part of the aftermath of a team losing are randies on the internet calling Professional Athletes with Millions "losers" lmfao
Shut up dude 🤣
Mcdavid still broke records this year. Very happy with how far the oilers went. Another year
Mc no rings only Stats I follow is Stanley cup wins this over rated dust pan got zero rings
He is the best in my opinion. He will get the cup when it’s meant to be. But he made a great run and did amazing things.
Not everyone who, according to fans, deserve the cup - get one
He's the best at doing nothing 4 out of 7 games when his team needed him. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 McOverrated is a failure
My deepest respect for this man, for being a man, his devotion. Wish him very best in catching the Cup🏆🤜
Great season guys, be proud!
give them a silver medal for losing
Even the Oilers did not win BUT we have the greatest hockey player on earth!Connor MC David!!! You deserved to be MVP!

@@KAST403The Stanley Cup is not a prerequisite for being the best hockey player. Cry me a river
Such a pro. All he wants is to be left alone, but he still undergoes this interview without showing resentment towards the journalists.
Number league stats you must do interview and two when he did not come out for award they should give it to another player
You guys came a long way from where you were. Be proud!! We all are!!
Florida is a good place to lose the Stanley Cup. Step outside, and you're on vacation.
😂
They're close to the golf courses!
Edmonton may benefit from a physical and nifty deflection expert in front of the net.
I would never have guessed them making the final after their start.
Whichever players they acquired have made a huge difference.
They will be back. Congrats to Florida. As expected.
Man will never win a Stanley cup in his career 👋 Connor mcdavid thought he was the Messi of hockey. Not even close.
so true man! they praise this man to much not even that great.
But messi won a World Cup when he was 35, and Mcdavid is 27. He could win one with 10 years
@@franciscoanimations Took Connor nine years to reach the final, I don’t think he ever get their again.
Interviewing these guys right after a loss of that caliber is just brutal man.
Lots of dumb questions.
I would hate to be a sports reporter!
Hold You Head up son.
You and Your mates Did Edmonton, Alberta and Canada Proud.
Your time will come that's for sure!! Congrats from Finland for Conn Smythe! There were no better player in the play offs even though your team didn't win.
Well, your Barkov’s no slouch 😂
Props McDavid! From Vancouver BC
Tkachuk wouldn’t shake hands. Lacks character and understanding of the essence of the game.
Really? That is typical asshat Tkachuk
No. That’s him playing 4d chess against his competition. I think he legitimately loathes the oilers after what happened the last time they faced each other in the playoffs.
Did McDavid lack character and understanding of the essence of the game when he refused to return to the ice to accept an award like a manchild in the midst of a temper tantrum?
What about when McPrincess decided to be a salty manchild and not come out when bettman awarded him his sympathy conn smythe trophy? Wayne Gretzky would NEVER

he could probably really have used it in the midst of his temper tantrum when he refused to return to the ice to accept an award.
McDavid always blames bad bounces and never actually takes accountability. He just says ‘we should’ve won if that one thing didn’t happen’. People give this whiner too much credit for his lack of leadership.
Коннор молодец настоящий капитан🎉🎉🎉
They did their best. Hard road but it is not easy coming back from a 3 game hole and win game 7 in their barn. Nothing to be ashamed of Connor. Always next year.
Не "дотянул" Мак и в регулярке: не смог обойти Никиту в гонке бомбардиров. И, в финале,- Саша, Сергей, Владимир и Дмитрий, его обошли!))
No, the Florida Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers. Mcdavid is better than all of those
They made this a great series, they should be proud of what they achieved. Someone had to lose, and it would have been hard on either team so come so close to the prize. Your day will come, hopefully you can keep the team together for next year and get another shot.
how he win MVP when he boy magician disappear game 6 & 7
Right, if he had 10 points throughout game 6 and 7, it would have made sense, but he only had two games in the finals
He had more points in the playoffs than a capitals player who played 82 games
@@kennysdead500 And if he had 10 points, he would’ve probably broken 3 more Gretzky records:
* Most points in playoffs (47)
* Most points in Finals (13)
* Most assists in Finals (10)

that would be like a quarter of players in the league@@Beast4879.
How many cups@@September2004
McDavid is the goat, class player. He will get his cup I have no doubt. Panthers fought hard and it's difficult not to be satisfied that Maurice and Luongo finally get their cup.
goat at choking, I agree. 🤣
Came all the way back just to lose 🎉
similar to Toronto-Boston series. Bruins ended up winning
Wouldn't have expected any less from.that piss poor team
It isn’t McDavid’s time. Crosby lost to the red wings and Gretzky lost to the Islanders. Gretzky went to the Islanders locker room and saw that the Islander players were bruised and battered and paid the price to win the Stanley Cup.
Connor’s time is coming. At this level, winning and losing is based on fine margins.
Edmonton Oilers you didn’t loose, you win the hearts of all the hockey fans.
oilers still made it 3-3 after a 3-0 deficit, proud of them. mcjesus is definitely leaving the oilers after this one though lol
Not an Oilers fan or a McJesus fan but I do feel for the dudes. Florida just has so many Finns and I like their team in general. Different setup and I might have been rooting for Oil. On the plus side he's now proven that getting there is possible and even likely. Go get it next year
Gracious in defeat
was he gracious when he refused to come out on the ice to accept an award like a manchild in the midst of a temper tantrum?
Unreal that anyone could criticize McDavid on how things turned out. Without him, Edmonton probably doesn't even make the playoffs after their poor start. Having said that, the Con Smythe should have gone to Bob.
Молодец Конор, надеюсь ты завоюешь свой кубок, ты заслуживаешь, но сейчас это победа Бобровского и Флориды!
Oiler love! You are awesome to us. Look what you did to the City of Edmonton. It was awash with Oiler Jerseys . Oiler Proud!! 💯
Макдевид молодой .еще все впереди.
poor guy really deserves one hopefully he can achieve it next year.
no he doesn't its a TEAM THAT WINS NOT ONE PLAYER
The Oilers looked absolutely horrible in that game .
Looked like they was playing pre season that wasn't a game 7 cul final edmonton got dominated and embarrassed
The Oilers played so well. Someone has to win and it’s tough to be the losing team.
Why are they asking McDavid "what happened out there?" Everyone knows that, at the end of the day, Skinner is just not as good as Bobrovsky. That's what happened.
Skinner played well. Do oiler fans just not watch their games
Feeling sorry for the Oil faithful. Being a Bruins fan I feel his pain
Could have at least walked out and grabbed the Con, considering he had fans in the building that would have at least wanted to see that.
Kinda unprofessional imo.
A real leader. His vision for this team was the Cup from the drop of the puck in the pre-season. His teammates believed and wanted the same. Hoping they'll be back soon to achieve their goal
Mcmate if you cant score a couple goals in a game 7 cup final and hoist the cup then you just aint one of the great ones of hockey lore.
💯
Best player in the league.
