This is the fourth video in a new Hyper Droid Five Nights at Freddy's series, called FNAF: Unsolved Mysteries - a series where I attempt to answer (or at least provide all the information I can give for) FNAF's biggest Unsolved Mysteries without wasting any time. This video goes through a question that's always in the back of the mind while theory-crafting, "are the FNAF books in the same Timeline as the FNAF games?", "What are the differences between them?" and "What is the current state of the FNAF Multiverse / FNAF Universe?". This is Season 1, Episode 4.
Five Nights at Freddy's is an indie video game series and media franchise created by Scott Cawthon, later adapted by Steel Wool Studios and Illumix. It has further grown to big platforms such as Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo with Console Ports, also reaching all Mobile platforms and all Computer platforms. The video game series currently has 10 games, FNAF, FNAF 2, FNAF 3, FNAF 4, FNAF 5/Sister Location, FNAF 6/Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, FNAF: Ultimate Custom Night (FNAF: UCN), FNAF VR: Help Wanted, FNAF AR: Special Delivery and FNAF: Security Breach. The franchise also spans out across multiple series' of books (Main Book Series, Freddy Files, The Ultimate Guide, Fazbear Frights and Tales From The Pizzaplex) and merchandise (FNAF POPs, FNAF Plushies and some FNAF Board Games), with a FNAF Movie coming soon. This is a game theory about the Five Nights at Freddy's Unsolved Mystery / FNAF Unsolved Mystery of the Multiverse.

More reasons the Fazbear Frights are seperate just to 100% it:
- Andrew and Cassidy cannot both be pulling the strings in UCN like some theories believe, because in TMIR1280 it's very specifically said there are only 2 brainwaves/souls fighting for the brain, which is William and Andrew (in the books), so UCN in the games is only hosted by 1 spirit
- AndrewTOYSNHK is something that people keep shouting at theorists recently, and quite honestly is the only reason that anyone tries to say Frights take place within the Game Timeline in the first place. But it doesn’t really work. In the source used to prove Cassidy is canonically a “girl” so Andrew is the boy in UCN, the MCI names are wrong and there are only 5 Victims, so “6th Victim Andrew” wouldn’t even work using that same source. He’s not been “killed off-screen” or “hidden in the games” because in the Frights he’s apart of the MCI as a 6th Victim, so why would he suddenly be hidden and just happen to be off-screen for the entirety of FNAF 1-Security Breach? He has not been mentioned once outside of the Frights, while Cassidy has been mentioned outside of the Logbook 3 entirely different times (Book Trilogy, Princess Quest, and the “most accurate” Movie Screenplay Draft). Any attempts to place him into the Game Timeline only works if you mess with things that are already concrete (such as the biggest event in the entire series - the MCI - now being 6 instead of 5 like we’ve known literally since 2014), but nothing is messed with if it’s realized that Andrew is very easily and simply the Alternative Timeline’s version of Cassidy.
- The Tales were said to be set "in the world of the newest games” although that has since been removed from every description of the books across the markets.
- William’s actual body from “apparently” FFPS’ fire blew up, despite the fact that DOES NOT happen in the games due to its return in SB - (SPOILER) confirmed through the Tales Epilogues by its main Antagonist being implied to be its endo and confirmed to be burnt. (SPOILER)
- Henry’s fire apparently happened earlier. The Freddy’s that Fetch is found in is called “ancient on the verge of collapse”, and Andrew only could’ve possessed Fetch at the end of The Man in Room 1280 and gotten to that specific Freddy’s while it was still open, in order to be left “abandoned” and deactivated. But smartphones exist in the story, pointing this story to take place in modern times. So for it to be an Ancient Pizzeria that Fetch was abandon in, means that the fire that causes TMIR1280 and leads to Fetch’s possession BEFORE being distributed to Freddy's, HAD to have taken place way earlier then this story, and seemingly before smartphones even existed (due to them at first saying it won’t connect to their phones because it’s only for old tech)
- The stories most likely happen in Maryland and not across America in Utah. Room for One More’s protagonist lives on Forrest Street, which is a real street in Maryland. The story also makes reference to the Snack Space where Into The Pit’s protagonist’s dad works, which is apparently 500 miles away from Myrtle Beach, which Maryland is. Most of the main events have to take place somewhat close to each other with how easily the Stitchwraith can collect parts, and the bits of information we get are consistent with Maryland. - In Security Breach there are easter eggs on the Arcades of characters like Fetch from the Frights, but this is just an easter egg. Same reason Ignited Freddy from the Fanverse, Theodor and the Twisted animatronics are on them too, Steel Wool said in a interview with Dawko and the one with Gamejolt that they added a lot of easter eggs from the franchise overall, and said they were trying to not add too much or else it’ll make some people think too hard about something that was clearly just a reference.
- The Fazbear Frights and Tales from the Pizzaplex are good, don't get me wrong, but both of them take place in the same Timeline DIFFERENT from the Games Timeline, only thing truly 100% in the same Timeline is the Tales Epilogues, which are a prelude to Security Breach
It would be interesting to get a video about Stage 01.
In that minigame if you go one box under where you would normally free the dead kid, you will find a version of Stage 01 but with the kid in the middle missing, implying he was killed.
We can also get more information on what suit was used to kill this kid. If you look at the eyes of Fredbear and Springbonnie, you can see that Fredbears eyes are white and Springbonnies are yellow, and in Follow Me when William goes into Springbonnie the eyes are white, implying that someone is using Fredbear and used it to kill this kid.
The last bit of information I can think of is in the next minigame we see Shadow Bonnie appear on stage. This could either A) mean that this kid becomes Shadow Bonnie, B) mean that this murder created Shadow Bonnie (if you believe he’s agony, which I do) or C) it isn’t related to the dead kid and is just designed to show that Shadow Bonnie is based on Springbonnie.
You will also need to cover whether Stage 01 is Fredbears or Freddy’s because while the name implies that it’s Fredbears, we also see that Fredbear and Springbonnie have black attire while Fredbears animatronics had purple attire, which could suggest it’s from Freddy’s. The name is also called Golden Freddy, so unless you believe GoldenBoth then Golden Freddy would probably have come from Freddy’s and that would then imply that this is Freddy’s.
Speaking of GoldenBoth, I think it would be interesting to cover a few ideas on what happens to BV, while GoldenBoth is the most popular on RUclips there are a few others that I think deserve recognition like FreeVictim or BV5th.

For me the thing is pretty clear. The first 7 games are their own canon, same thing with the first 3 books. Now, the hints of a soft reboot with the new games and the Fazbear frights series tell me that from now on, books and games are gonna follow a much closer storyline while still being in their own universes.

@@Mrsmile260 Yep, of course they do. The thing is that, while the new games need the first 7 to be understood, Scott's original games told their story (that now is being repurposed). It's more complex that saying everything is different canons but it's clear that FNAF has been telling multiple different stories

Hw and SB are undoubtedly in the same universe as the og 7, hw less so but it carries over into SB which directly calls back to FNAF 6 in a way where there's really no way around it, they meant to be the same canon
For me it's just obvious that the most of the games are canon and that the books just help solve most of the canon with the riddles in them and secret codes
It feels really good to see other people that acknowledge all the FNAF books as different "lenses" to view the game's story.
I knew there was proof that Frights wasn't in the game timeline, but you pointed out things that I never thought about, and even gave a very good point distinguishing Tale's from the games as well. Really amazing job with this video

Fnaf cinematic Universe
I still push for fnaf multiverse. Many storyline don't match so I'd think timelines are independent unless connected via unusual way
I always thought FNAF 4 had multiple interpretations
that's why not every piece seems to add up
some seemingly important parts of the game can be seen as random unimportant events for different interpretations that are equally canon to their own universe
what we have right now is the continuation from one of the timelines
also don't forget FNAF 1 on it's own is a complete story and maybe the only canon game in another timeline
That's actually a neat way to look at Fnaf 4 when you say it. I'm surprised no one else thought of it.
The fnaf 4 minigames take place before the nightmares. The bite victim is the player of the minigames, and experiences the nightmares at some point, but what we play as in Fnaf 4 is Michael experiencing the nightmares
Think of FNAF as having this one massive umbrella universe, and the books and games are split into seperate timelines underneath said umbrella. The FNAF universe is a multitude of different timelines that overlap in some areas, however everything is canon, even if specific events don’t align perfectly. It’s all the same universe, not the same timeline. That’s the major different people seem to confuse.

Think it's pretty cut and dry. Games are one timeline, Books are the other. They ultimate guide literally only talks about a Book timeline and a Game timeline, and splitting hairs any further is when we start getting just really pointlessly modular.
