I used to live in Silverlands back in the 1950's. At that time hundreds of acres of land belonged to the property. I went back in the mid 90's and it was a nurses college. I wasn't able to get inside, so I enjoyed this video. But I don't really remember many things I saw. The back courtyard I do remember, part of this used to be stables, but we had no horses. I think around 50 children lived there at that time. It was a fun time living with so many kids. We all used to go to private schools and were driven to them each day. I went to one in Shepperton. Though I lived there I wasn't an orphan, my mother ran the kitchens.....we lived up near the top of the place. The kitchens were below ground level fronting onto the courtyard. There is a bomb shelter from WWII in the grounds on one side of the house. When I was last there it was pretty overgrown. If you are interested in the history of Silverlands one of the kids who lived there for around ten years has written a book of the house name.....should be able to find it on the Internet.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful
buildings I have ever seen.It is how you would
    imagine the Royal's living..The carvings,ornate
lights, those carved wood paneling, those fire
    places....Absolutely stunning.
Why hasn't anyone bought this? The building
itself looks sound and strong,so it seems it could
easily be repaired...This is too beautiful a building
to just let it decay... And by investing in it's future,
it would pay you back 3,4,5 times over,if you think
about holding weddings or functions there......
I hope someone saves this building and breathes
new life into such an incredible old building.😊

First time looking and I so enjoyed it plus I subscribed 8) It always makes me sick to see things that were so artfully made by craftsmen who are very few and far between these days rotten and laying in the floor. So beautifully made down to the door nobs and locks. Thank you for taking all of us on your journey as it was so worth the watch. Loved it! Loved it! God Bless and be safe...

The wooden pillars, carvings & windows should all b saved. That TV was eerie, it's like the soul of a dieing decaying body 2 old 2 heal & 2 beautiful 2 leave. I would love 2 c pics of that place alive & in full swing. Well done. GOD Bless u & ur loved 1s.

Gimme gimme gimme...I'm in love with the wood the doors with cast iron.... the Windows ....they need to be reused...we are suppose to get better with time...instead they throw up buildings and homes with no real effort.... This has beautiful structure ...how many hours went in to each part of that building they thought about every room with hard work ...talent and passion...I enjoyed this video and watched it several times and pausing it to gaze at it ...so elegant it's quietly fading away....

What an absolutely stunning estate you've shown us. Thank you for the incredible footage and photographs.
It is heartbreaking to see what has become of such an incredibly gorgeous, ornately designed structure that has so much amazing history. I so wish someone wealthy would purchase it, and give it the love and care it deserves. Sure, a rehab would be crazy expensive, but it would make a spectacular Inn and Restaurant.
I can picture two and four tops with fine linen and china in the grand ballrooms. The grounds are perfect for weddings and special events. That grand central staircase, with its gleaming polished wood, leading up to posh, elegant guest rooms.
Perhaps my imagination is getting away with me, but it's not often that you see such an amazing place with such grandeur. I do hope someone is able to save it. It's almost too sad to imagine it falling into complete ruins.

    - picturing huge parties being held here- servants scurrying about - country 'gentlemen' with their 'ladies'….etc.. As they say, 'If walls could talk' - Wow! What stories.

There would be no words to describe the feeling that seeing all the ruin of this beautiful home evoke. Of all the money that is wasted on trivial things you would think people would have more pride in these historic buildings and use the money wasted to restore and repair so future generations could enjoy and admire.

Have you ever considered doing a live commentary as you walk around exploring? You seem to know the locations' stories long before you visit them and I think you could easily rival some shows on tv if you experimented with it.

Well done, mate. It's a real shame that someone didn't repair the roof before the rain caused this extent of damage. The black mold is scary! I live two kilometers from the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, Texas, United States. It' s only 100 years old, but it is quickly getting to this stage of disrepair. Again, it's the lack of response to a leaky roof that is the culprit for most of the damage. I don't usually yearn for money, but in cases like these, I wish I had the finances to help.
Again, good job on the video. I appreciated the lack of chit-chat that often accompanies these tours. I enjoyed the melancholy music. Very appropriate.

The craftpersonship (p.c.) is stunning, many details, chandeliers, and the ceilings awe inspiring. It has to be property somebody watches over because there is so much glass, but very few broken. The interior doors, which were plentiful and ornate had their all their panes. And of course there is the electricity.

+Noel Holley-Bell Yeah weird one this, can't believe they let the weather get inside...well worth a new roof you would think with the costs of security. really nice building with history. Thanks!

Even a state of decay this beautiful mansion stills maintains much of its beauty and charm. Thanks for posting this video. So sad that the place probably cannot be saved, but perhaps the lovely chandeliers and some of that fantastic woodwork and some of the beautiful molding can!

Excellent video. I agree about the electrics still being on in an abandoned house for so long is very creepy. I would love to rescue all the woodwork, if nothing else.

Wow, that's an awesome find. Too bad you couldn't stay longer. When you opened the door and I saw the television, that was a bit of a shock. Then I realized it was footage from security cameras - Oops! -and then the scary music starts.. That ending put a bit of adrenaline in my system, as though I myself were about to get caught. Nice one, thanks.

Perhaps it should be reborn as a museum dedicated to the history of the theater and architectural design housing old stage props and showcasing the wonderful creativity carpentry and masonry skills past to present

the amount of money needed to restore a house like that is huge! I work as a painter and decorator, and I look at one room and think! blimey what a lot of work. This is our heritage and should be saved. how! is the major problem.

It’s been a few years since you guys took us for a look in this grand house...
Is it gone now or someone buy it and fix it up? I’d like to think it was fixed up, but we know hw things can be 😳
