There will never be a better fit than Mr. Bungle, for a Festival named like this one, Bizarre... So stoked to be seeing them soon live for my first time with Lombardo and Ian... All hail to the BUNGLE!!!
Someone should do an AI upscale/remaster of this wonderful performance.
The girl playing bass is kinda cute
That’s what I’m saying
That’s a dude in a costume
@@beachstiff2600 no it's not
@@jellopuddinpops9421 look it up
Don't talk about my wife dood.
One of the greatest bands of all time
The most dangerous band in rock n roll
better than Queen
greatest and bizarre!
I drive with this shit at volume 11 in my lotus as a 50 year old guy. I must look like a complete idiot.
The mosh pits stop and stare in bewildered awe. Because half of them had no idea what was coming next. LONG LIVE MIKE PATTON
I love how he does that with his music, changes it before you can get into a groove and then when you finally think you know what’s coming next he changes it on you
The single idea that bands as good as this will going to be forgot in time haunts me. There is just so many things being created everyday and humanity cannot keep'em all forever. Surely, it will still be uploaded here (maybe), but most certeanly no one will even listen to it. 😢
Now I'm fucking sad
I mean everything’s forgotten eventually, but I’m apart of Gen Z and I’m definitely showing my kid(s) Mr. Bungle and it’s very possible they’ll show their kid(s) as well
Still experimental and fresh even after 21 years

Hahaha nice I can see me. In 20:24 a 18yo younger me sitting left from the redhead Punk after we tillt lots of Bears. The last Bizarre Festival. Nice one 😊👌👍
Warum hast du da nur rum gelungert und nicht mike patton gehuldigt? 😂 Oder Energie für deftones aufgespart?
17:22 LOL. You can see why the band returned to metal. They fucking loved when the music got heavy.
14:06 That moment when even Mr. Mike Patton can't handle it
hahahahaha
💀😂😂😂
How does this have better sound quality then most concert videos today
The sound quality was willed into higher existence by Patton's amazing voicework alone.
It wasn’t filmed on a phone.
Because germans are good in recording concerts😊
No album in the world like California.
These guys are a great definition of Maximilism
Some of the earlier shows for California were pretty messy, but by this stage they had it DOWN! Amazing stuff.
to know this was his first band.. is amazing..
I think Mike Patton was actually first in a band called 'Gemini' with Trevor Dunn
@@Nebeorx didn't know. Thx!!
Frank zappa would have loved this ...
I've always thought that Frank would be the one artist who would have appreciated the arc of Mike's career.
I would’ve loved to see Frank Zappa react to all of the music he missed out on (Primus, Mr. Bungle, and Ween especially because man I wonder what he would think of them. Honestly Ween might be too simple for his taste, but he kinda did the brown thing before they even did so he would probably appreciate their earlier stuff. Also I wonder if he would like rap, I could see him disliking it for sure but my hope is that if he were to hear rap he would be more open minded. He did die in the 90s though, so it’s possible he heard all of the stuff that I listed, but I doubt he was still invested in the new music coming out shortly before he died. He complained about newer music a lot whenever he was getting older, but I’m sure there was stuff being released that he hadn’t heard that he would’ve liked. Honestly out of any musician he’s the one I would be curious to hears opinions about other musicians, given he was super ahead of his time imo
I never get sick of that “quote unquote” song from their first album. It’s just so goofy while simultaneously being super heavy.
How did I ever miss them?! My god they're so f'ing good!!!
Reunited and it feels so right
Leyenda
Absolute legends
God damn that version of My Ass is on Fire is satanic.
The fact that the audience doesn’t get it makes me sick
When your hand slips and accidentally turns the volume slider up all the way on the keyboard. 3:33
My favourite part is when he starts abusing the fat person in the crowd. Classic Patton.
8:37 !!
So fucking far ahead of its time
19:24- how beautiful is this?
it sucks that the keyboard was too quiet and the guitar too loud at points, but other than that this video has the best audio for this conzert.
It's probably the best live MB I've come across so far ... Wish we had something like this for their first tour ... all the live recordings I'vs found sound like crap.
20:16
I have it on vhs over the years I got it on dvd it's weird because the dvd came with bonus tracks that were
Quote Unquote ((Travolta)) Music Video and Gollem II: The bionic Vapor Boy Live without a doubt this concert is legendary
Those two tracks were from a different concert though right? amazing to have on dvd.
29:30 this part could last forever...
🥰😎🤘❣
Carry stress in the jaw was never played 1 of my favorite songs by them
Oh its so perfect, makes you love them even m
ore!!!!
14:08 It do be like that sometimes
it do be doe
I could lose myself in this 😁
DUDE!~! the version of "travolta" is fooking amazing. it does seem like this would've been such a better ...DEAL..if the show wuz at nite.
Agree. This show would have been ultra good at night. Needs the dark atmosphere.
Most of the crowd has no idea what they are witnessing. Saw the California tour in both Seattle and Portland, then again as a short set on the Snocore tour with Incubus. Epic every time.
He is so unbelievably talented!!
25:01. "....ooohhhh nooo i nearly forgot my ha-ha-ha-tatisch-tatisch part! Back to work buddy."😂
just AMAZING, wish I was there
well played
I was there... :)
Watched the hs talent show set from 1985, then San Francisco 1992, now this.
Quote Unquote
14:10 ONLY Mike Patton LOL
Anyone knows who's the hired member for live percussion back then?
William Winnant
Willy winuit
Tony Soprano
I want to climb the Swiss Miss Girl's Matterhorns.
I was there!!!!!
Lucky boy
Tell us about it!!!!
@@therealrcg6838 Undescribable!!!!!!
check u out, brother! I'm so jealous...even tho the crowd doesn't seem that great so to speak, i bet this would've been a great TIME to see Mr. Bungle --for real FANS, i mean. it's like they had drifted back into unDergrOUnd territory, for sure but that totally didn't take away from their Snarky Mastery ( hee hee) as musicians, and they were clearly as experimental/creativE as ever during this time! When I was 17, in 1992, my brother bought me Tix to see them AND Primus on NYE (!!) in S.F....alas, I broke my ankle really badly a week before the show and COULDN"T GO! I would love it if they decided to go on tour one more time for old geezers like me...cheerz
Lucky bastard! 🤘
I wonder if they rehearse. 🙃
Classic.
GOAT
Who is the second keys player at this gig? I can make out Bar but there are two keys players?
Jim rotondi is his name I think
Genius

Man, you gotta me reeeal good to play that bad.
this is the mr bungle i like best... not this crap death metal they put out now!~
🤓
I liked their first album best .. not the demo stuff .. the WB self titled release from 89 ... California is freakin great though.
Bro, the raging wrath is fucking awesome
Не люблю когда музыканты начинают импровизировать на сцене и делать такую музыку как не на студийной записи. Их импровизации зачастую неряшливы и безвкусны чем очень разочаровывают... В частности меня
you must not be much of a creative person my friend. which is okay. i’m just saying there’s more to bagels than cream cheese, this shit is genius.
I'm a straight man, but boy I'm gay for Patton any day 🤣
ha ha that's so funny. I bet he would b for u , too.! :-D ha ha cheerz
Same dude. He's so cool hahaha
