    Alireza usually gets a lot of criticism when he underperforms in a tournament, especially the candidates, but this kid is a genius. There are more fingers on my hand than the people who can survive such a game with 30seconds against one of the strongest chess players in the world.

      what he's lacking seems to be focus and possibly some personality traits (in order to fullfill the hopes people once had for him, even foreseeing him as the next WC)
      it's certainly not lack of talent that's holding him back (in the sense explained above, obviously he's still a world class player)

      I have mixed feelings. The point of a commentator is not to prove how many rare words they can put into a single sentence, but rather to give commentary that the average viewer can comprehend with ease. For sure half the viewers are not native to English, and many need to guess what Danya is trying to say. It's silly, really.

      @@Toopa88unfortunately, I think fixing this problem is difficult, as it would be difficult for a native speaker to even identify when it is occurring. As a native speaker who does not often need to interact with non speakers, I do not know, even when going back and listening for it, what you or OP mean by “rare” or creative use of words.

      Fischer wouldn't have been convinced anyway, he believed that all the matches between Kasparov and Karpov were prearranged down to a single move just the same.
      he had a love-hate relationship with (competitive) chess, and since he was a passionate individual, once the pendulum swung in the opposite direction, you wouldn't be able to talk him out of it either

      @@vibovitold Fischer would probably be intrigued by alirezas ability to think, and move so accurately within the span of seconds against a world class player in an endgame, Fischer was a genius also, and can you disprove his opinion? many years ago chess was different, and rigging games is definitely not out of the question, and the pendulum moves back sometimes, in the right conditions.

    Well, Alireza is one of the best bullet and blitz players, but the title is misleading! He doesn't make 57 moves in 30 seconds, there are 2 seconds added after every move! (which most of chessfans know anyway)
