  • Singapore Airlines is still expecting to take delivery of its first Boeing 777X in 2025 despite delays in the certification of the jet. Next, EasyJet announced that, starting in March 2025, it'll reopen a base at London Southend with its Airbus A320neo fleet of jets. Lastly, Emirates has announced it'll from October 1, 2024 resume daily flying to Lagos in Nigeria with its Boeing 777-300ER from Dubai.

    • @abarratt8869
      @abarratt8869 22 дня назад

      Unfortunately it’s already unsuccessful. The cost and time overruns have pretty much guaranteed that Boeing can’t make money on the program. They need to sell an awful lot more of them to overcome the added costs. Plus as time goes past its design is becoming more obsolete. It’s rumoured to be about 40tons heavier than the equivalent A350…
      Ideally they should be working on a fresh design, but they’re not. So they’re going to struggle to be competitive for years to come.

    I know all about Boeing's problems and their having to prove quality in their products before production can increase .
    However, can someone please explain to me just what the FAA expects to uncover in the next two years with the 777X that they have not already discovered in the past five? The same with the MAX 7 and MAX 10. These two are no different than the two models already in service except in fuselage length and the main landing gear on the MAX 10.
    This has baffled me over the years. Your comments are appreciated.

      Do you know how long Boeing will produce the manuals that have been found to be missing? Do you know the exact nature of the documentation that is missing - parts, systems, pilot manuals, recovery systems, checklists, diagrams, etc? Then do you know how long it will take to ensure the documents align with the planes-as-built? Perhaps that could provide part of the answer to the timelines.

    Emerates is in trouble..the plans for 80% load factors and flight frequency means in aggregate. Emirates is either not going to be selling half the seats or the destination hub will not be able to cope with the destructive numbers getting political kickback and losses....Hi risk everything involving Africa. Remember, a number of these routes will also compete with existing operators such as the Heathrow route where all the best slots are taken.
