how to modify Samsung refrigerator RF23A9771SR shelf so that you can actually clean it

You can't take the glass out of the bottom shelf of the Samsung Refrigerator RF23A977SR.
HERE is how to modify it with a dremel so that you can take the glass out and clean after spills.

They could have run a bead of caulk to seal it. Wonder if that's something you should be doing
