I never work a shitty job since I was in high school. I used to volunteer at my high school office then go to college and got a job at the admin office. So I've been delusional since high school. 😄Now I see people with college degrees working at star bucks. I could never. I'm gonna be delusional and apply for big jobs forever I refuse to believe that because i dont have a degree I can't get a good job. I'm gonna be that bank executive, one day and ill make it happen, believe me!😂

My parents did something similar I was fucking up and didn’t want to go to school. My parents are from Mexico and work in the fields. They said no problem you’re going to work with us and pay your share of rent if you want to keep living in this house. I tried my god damn hardest to prove them wrong and I lasted 4 days picking grapes in 100 degree weather. Went back to school and never again did I think about not wanting to go to school. I still worked in the summers later on. But that experience helped me value an education and the value of a dollar. I thank my parents did that to me.

I get what Mr White is saying, however, I am fifty five, been working as a heavy equipment mechanic since eighty seven. As a kid I worked in the cotton fields with my dad and my great uncles. Chopping cotton with a grubbing hoe that was custom made for a child. My fondest memories were when I got to be the gopher for my great uncles when they worked on those old tractors, pumps, plows, generators, wagons, and old trucks. My great uncles seemed to perform magic on those old machines, I was amazed. I joined the army to become a heavy equipment mechanic, in 1987. All my great uncles and my father are dead now. I still farm, and I still work on heavy equipment. It’s a good life. It ain’t easy, it ain’t glamorous, but, it has allowed me to carry on my father and great uncles work. Those men were my heroes

Dropped out of school. Went to work at a cell phone repair store. Learned enough there to land a contract consulting gig at capital one. Made 60k first year, 88k the third year and they hired me on directly to be a manager the 4th year for 118k. I quit 10 months in and now fix and flip houses and own 3 rental properties. It’s not about school or being a “dumb” mechanic. It’s about having a drive to achieve more and be more. I would’ve told his son to take the mechanic job and stick with it so that one day he would own his own shop rather than goto school to learn how to work for someone else. ProbBly work for someone who didn’t goto school because it wasn’t for him but built a company that could just hire the people who went to school for him.

He clearly doesn’t understand how to talk. You can’t be a mechanic and be dumb. It’s the complete opposite as I’m a technician

@@DiLLYS-ze8iw he meant dumb in the sense of pure academics, you can be a mechanic and not read that well or be a terrible test taker or not very good at calculus and be a terrific mechanic.
