I thank God for my grandfather for teaching me and mentoring me. He never cussed, he never used the N word unless he meant it, he believed in God, was married to one woman for over 50 years, served in WW2, endured Jim Crow and witnessed the civil rights movement and knew where he was going after death. I respect this man, but I’ve had mentors in my life that never called other black men the N word. I had mentors that worked with kids and donated their time to the community. Those men died out on the 80’s and early 90’s. What you have to today is a shadow of what we had not so long ago. I thank God for my grandfather for teaching me and mentoring me. He never cussed, he never used the N word unless he meant it, he believed in God, was married to one woman for over 50 years, served in WW2, endured Jim Crow and witnessed the civil rights movement and knew where he was going after death.
I respect this man, but I’ve had mentors in my life that never called other black men the N word. I had mentors that worked with kids and donated their time to the community. Those men died out on the 80’s and early 90’s.
What you have to today is a shadow of what we had not so long ago.
Pops did say something my grandfather said to say when he said give us some land and some seeds and some start up money.
But guess what, you can get government grants now and do that same thing. You just have to apply for it.
