So sorry for your loss, I lost my dad a week ago 🙏 Saw Warrant about 5 times live as a teen, saw every metal/rock band, probably 50-60 concerts, towards the end of the run, Warrant played at a small bar, performance hall in Minneapolis, the most intimate & touching concert I've ever seen. Jani & the band performed like it was 20k in attendance, maybe 500, he gave it his all! He's missed 🙏🥺
MaddiLane Your dad was an Extremely Talented Man!! He will never be forgotten. I miss him. It makes me sad to know that we will never hear the music that he never got to create. We are blessed with what we do have though. RIP Jani. Much Love!
I recently came across a song that Jani Lane wrote that was on their album Ultraphobic. He said it was his favorite song he wrote. It's called Stronger Now and it's beautiful.
I'm a young-spirited-Boomer that'll be 68 in 2 days. I'm gonna tell it like it was and IS: Warrant was so FUGGIN' great. You KNOW they were.....admit it.
Warrant is a great live band. Got a lot of crap for listening to them. Jani was a great songwriter n vocalist. Hell, even a lot of heavier bands have openly admitted that they wished they had written this song. RIP Jani!!
I saw Warrant Live in the late 80s. I went to a lot of concerts and Warrant was always one of my favorites. I hadn’t even expected to like them as much as I did. It was an incredible night.
Things I did not expect to hear today but I'm glad I did: "I gotta look for a banjo sound after that one" - This is a great song and the banjo comes in whenever they're talking about the bodies. Damn.
I always thought I should write a movie script based on this song.... a young boy & his uncle are on a hunting/fishing trip in a cabin in the swamp/woods.... then they accidentally witness the town cops dumping a body.... then they need to fight for survival against the corrupt small town police after being noticed .... using their outdoor skills & primitive bows & traps to fend them off .... would be awesome
The banjo you mention was a very daring piece to this song, but it fit perfectly. They didn't have many songs that hit this hard, but this one did and it was great.
According to Jani Lane, this was the song that was supposed to be the title track for Warrant’s second album, but the record label saw it differently. Cherry Pie is the second music album by American glam metal band Warrant. It was definitely driven by the label and not the band. ... The song was written down on a pizza box which is now on display in the Hard Rock Cafe in Destin, FL, part of the Destin Commons.Sep 11, 1990
Wow. This a really great song. Er,...this song was really produced well. Both statements are true. For the life of me, i can't remember why this video/song got teased by everyone I knew at the time. I guess it was jealousy and the inability to express that emotion.Great song, great reaction,.....maybe I'll have a great day?
Cherry Pie pretty much killed this brilliant band. This song is what they initially wanted their album to be built around, but the record label wanted a cheap rock anthem, so they quickly put together Cherry Pie, and that became their biggest hit. However it also painted them as "just another shitty glam pop band" despite having songs of this quality.
Hey I'm Jani's daughter, I appreciate you guys reacting to the song and video :) Fun fact, my uncle RIck played that badass acoustic intro!
That is awesome Maddi! It’s a pleasure meeting you! Thanks for pulling up ✌️❤️

I saw them at a small club as the headliner back in the 90's. Quiet Riot and Slaughter opened. Great show.
