The video quality of this is incredible. Well done!
The photo of the sheep is absolutely amazing the image quality is just through the roof
I don't know what's changed with your "vlogging" camera but this video is so crispy. Everything just looks way better quality. Massive fan of this!
He did switch from Canon to Sony recently. I wonder if this is why? I have an A7 iii and the still images pop! (was a 45 year long Nikon guy previously)
Love love loooovve the pictures !!!
Great vlog! I’ve never been to Ireland so it was great to see some of the landscape which I’ve heard is just amazing. Thanks Nick
Having watched your vlogs for years it’s really cool to go see you shoot at my home and see how you interpret it. Hope you enjoyed the trip. Looking forward to the other videos.
so many scenic places to see in Ireland !!
Nick, you continue to astound me with your work. Well done! I've never been to Ireland but it's on my bucket list for photography.
Can't wait for part 2, you got me researching Ireland for a trip now.
Thanks for this video Nick. We visited Ireland in 2015. The Cliffs of Moher were one of highlights of trip. Your video did a great job of showing the scale. It is HUGE! Looks just like I remember it and you had great weather too!
Great shot of Elephant Rock Nick! and OMG that abbey. Cliffs are simply amazing as they always are! Great captures.
I haven’t been there in 20 years, thanks for bringing me back! I have family there 💚
Great video Nick and great images.
The beautiful Irish scenery is topped only by the beautiful Irish people themselves ! Memories of walking the Kerry Way last year flooding back🍀
Hello Nick, I was very glad to see that you managed to make the best of the weather which was available. Again, I would like to thank you again for coming to Belfast. Your photography is amazing!
Gutted I missed you visiting my home turf
Great episode
Looking forward to part 2
Thanks for making your videos, you are an inspiration for me
Amazing video, love it,thank you for sharing
Great Video, this place looks amazing!
World's worst place to fall down? Just wait for the Faroes ;D
Gorgeous shots!
Added to the watch later list, can’t wait to watch since I’ll be touring Ireland in a couple summers for a wedding!!!
Daaaamn! I missed you ma man! Great to see you in action again!
You at a great spot love the picture you got and the mountain song is the best place to get a good angle shot
Wow, Nick, I just found out I have a wedding in Northern Ireland this summer and sure enough, here are TWO great Nick Page videos from the archives covering everything I wanted to know (and with the usual flare and gorgeous images). I’m taking notes, thanks man!
Great episode! I was in Ireland in 2015, shooting the same spots and LOVED cliffs of Moher. I took a different gear route though, I only packed a Fujifilm x100s...and loved it!
What this video showed to me is things I take for granted. I watch your videos and wish I could visit the places that you go to, but I live near loads of old churches and don’t take a second look. Great video as always.
Damn nick loved this vid, I live about two hours from the cliffs and I've never been, definitely going to go now though. Can't wait for the rest of the series great job dude, I hope you enjoyed your time here.
The warnings about falling resonated with me. Just yesterday I was shooting along a cliff at dawn (called Cape Spear - the most easterly point in North America) here in Newfoundland and a lady fell off while I was there photographing. No joke. she fell 150 feet and died. Everyone was devastated. My point is - very smart of you to have mentioned it. Great video by the way. Pat
Trust me when I say it's not the mud you've got to worry about... The back of my car has lifted once due to winds... Great vid of my homeland
I really loved this video! I'm super impressed by your luminosity mask edits. They have a very nice not-quite-HDR-ish quality to them. I'm a bit lazy post-processing wise and mostly use Lightroom. It's funny; I've always looked up to your style of photography but I just noticed that we have a very similar vlogging style. Keep on keeping on, Nick! I look forward to future videos.
looks like you had awesome fun , great pictures!
great video! I'm glad to see the cliffs from your perspective. my trip to them has been canceled, so thanks for briefly taking me there ! ha keep up the great content nick!
Gorgeous shots nick!
Great videos (this one and Part II)... I have Ireland on my bucket list, taking in the Wild Atlantic Way. Heading for the Isle of Harris this year but this may be the destination for 2019. This has really whetted my appetite. Thanks for sharing this, Nick.
I really like your videos and images, superb.
It was fantastic to see this place again! It is a shame that I was not already into photography when I visited the location. Lovely place! Actually, there are so many nice locations around. I miss Ireland.
What a dry sense of humour my Celtic cousins have. A very under rated country Ireland is
Cliffs of Moher a lovely spot, normally quite to very windy, so your audio did well. 👍 After late September is more off season for less crowds and plenty of large waves with sea spray blown up the cliffs. #moodyshots. Have a good one. 🙂 Kind regards BG/ Haznohair on Instagram.
Planning a trip to Ireland so sound your video nice work
Why would someone dislike this? Excellent video Nick! Next, you gotta come up here to Alaska for some winter aurora photos!
So I'm Irish, and I find it really cool seeing your reaction to the old abbey.. Like to me that's just standard stuff honestly.. but hearing you get excited by it made me really look at it in a different way, so I thank you for that!
I was thinking the same thing. Think I’ve shot one round tower as a backdrop to a town (Killala). I have several old abbeys around me here in Sligo and I’ve never got around to shooting any of them yet 🤷🏻♂️
Great video. The scenery looks just like E. WA. except for the greenery, rain and sea.
The Wild Way is stunning! Hope you get to see Doolin and The Burren close by.
Holy sun rays! It seems like a hard place to find a wide composition that is balanced and shows scale. I did not realize how large the cliffs were until I saw the telephoto shot with the gulls. :)
The comment you made about the camera not doing the scale of The Cliffs reminded me of Otter Crest in Newport OR.... impossible to capture the scale. Incredible!!
Gorgeous place! Please come to Australia some time Nick - you'd love it here.
Enjoyed the video man! When I was at Moher last month it was pouring.
Great vid! I want your lens collection also!
Great video.
Great trip Nick! If you’re looking for history come on over to Charleston, S.C.
Lovely images, Nick, but that cliff edge looked scary.
1:09 that picture is soooo good.
Great video
Welcome to Ireland Nick, the home of sideways rain. Mick
If the clouds clear might be able to get a composition with the Milky Way there this weekend.
Looks amazing. I love old stuff like that. Europe is filled with it, in American we tore it all down to put up ugly new building's.
Hey Nick, Hope you enjoyed Galway, and Welcome to Ireland.
Galway?
Yeah, Kilmacduagh for the tower and abbey shots.
Well damn! We must have missed you at Kilmacduagh Monastery (with the huge tower and ruins) by only a day or two. We were visiting from North Carolina. We actually found this incredible place while we were lost trying to find an airbnb we were staying in for the night. Making lemonade out of lemons! Hope you had a great trip. We did! :)
Are you rolling with the A73 for video now? Looks great! What a breathtaking location.
I hope you enjoyed Ireland and it would have been great to be apart of your work shop but budget would not permit this time, so maybe next. I am impressed with the photography and vlog, as always. But not impressed that you had a lager instead of a Guinness in the pub. (joke) That's like me going to the best steak house in the USA and having a veggie burger. Looking forward to see the rest of your Irish vlog.
So how are you liking the a7riii. I’m going to pictures rock Michigan this weekend and I’m going to be using my Sony a 7riii For sunset shots
Yes.
Nick, are you using a neutral density or polarizing filter for these ?
Nice video. May I ask what L-plate you are using? Cheers,
Bernhard
I’m planning a trip there soon! Is mid April a good time of year? Would you suggest wide angle or tele for Ireland? Or both? Thanks
Slieve League Cliffs in Donegal are 3 times as high. Not as sheer but well worth the trip. Also Croaghan Cliffs on Achill Island are higher again but also not sheer and harder to photograph because of the geography.
Nick do you like the peaking level feature in the a7riii
I love that you said GOD RAYS Nick :)
I like to call them GOD BEAMS, sounds better then Crepuscular rays!
High five from Ireland.
I am going to the cliff next week... I will follow your advice... buy a rope and attach me to a rock :) :) :) so impressive... nice videos !
Very nice pictures and it looks like the overall quality of your videos has improved recently. Continue with the good work. I am too much distracted by your beard that's my only complain. What is the arca plate you are using with the Sony 100-400?
LOL. I was thinking that in the USA there would be a fence to keep you from the edge. Thanks for the PSA.
There is a fence/wall most of the way along but most people just climb over it. They’re not liable if you come a cropper. You take yer chances 🤷🏻♂️
it's new Nick Page(sony) starting!
What is the brand of the L bracket?
Boy that bag looks snug and comfy on you... Nice
What abbey is that? We're headed there in a few weeks and would like to see it.
I disagree Nick, some photographs do very good justice to Ireland. You're pictures are stunning.
Anyone out there that can give me some camera advice? I recently bought the Canon T6i/750D and while it's good for photography, I'm looking specifically into cinematic filmmaking. I think I may have made the wrong decision buying the T6i/750D. It's a decent 'all-rounder' for beginners, but I'm really only interested in video. It's only capable of 25fps in 1080p, and 50fps in 750p which is kinda crap for slow motion shots. It also doesn't shoot in 4K or have many useful features such as timelapse mode etc. Should I sell it and get a camera better suited for filmmaking such as the Panasonic GH4 or Sony a6000 or something, or should I just make do? If I were to buy another camera instead, I'd be looking to spend less than $800 for the body. My main use would be to create cinematic, professional-looking short films. Any ideas? Thanks :)
Jamie Robbins check out the a6300. I did a video on one recently outlining what I like about it for its video features. Good budget option.
Thanks man, I'll go check out your video!
How is the Sony working for you? :-)
So far so good I am loving the video quality!
Where can i buy that hat?
Hello.
Great video and I like your work.
It’s been a long time since I want to understand some ways many a photographer use a tripod.
Near the end of your video, at the edge of the cliff, I see your tripod at its highest position, with the back scree of your camera certainly higher than your eyes’ level and, being right at the edge of the cliff, you sure aren’t bothered by the foreground. Moreover, the higher above the ground the camera is, the less sturdy the tripod is in windy situations, I guess.
I can’t imagine you’re doing so just for the fun of looking toward the sky ;-)
So, if there’s a good reason to do so, would you be kind enough to initiate the beginner I am?
Thank you and keep doing such great photos.
When you’re working next to you really tall cliffs it helps To have your tripod tall because it can more easily see over the cliff. Kind a like a tall guy looking over the shoulder of the person in front of him. This way you don’t have to get as close to the cliff to get an unobstructed view
Nick Page Thank you so much for this answer. I know realize how treacherous these cliffs can be and how you can stay a little safer by this mean.
I bet you liked having smaller gear to haul around.
I hate to say it, but Mirrorless is not going to be the take over?, BUT DRONES!!!!

Anyone else really want to remove that dust spec on the top right?
Trust me I’m with you on that! I was so annoyed when I got my footage on the computer
And who are these couple of thumbs down people?? LOL! Who are those people?
@ 6:22 one thing i can say i most certainly cannot try that at home even if i really wanted to...😋😋
Plot twist. Nick has been shooting with a canon 80d with a few crop Canon lenses since he sold his 5d4. He has just been putting his girlfriend's Sony in frame to confuse the viewers.
Was very excited when I saw the title photographing Ireland, but was disappointed. You were photographing Northern Ireland not Ireland. The Republic of Ireland is known as Ireland. Would love to see you photographing the real Ireland sometime!
If you watch the entire video you would’ve seen that I went to the West Cliff’s which are not in Northern Ireland both parts of Ireland the island are beautiful
I’m sorry my error. I forgot my Irish geography!
Kathleen Murphy I wasn’t implying that you forgot your geography. I was lucky enough to visit both northern and the republic and I found both the landscape and the people amazing in both places
My bad
The Cliffs of Moher are way overrated you could have just driven a couple of hours to South Donegal which has the highest sea cliffs in Europe.
Achill Island has the highest cliffs in Ireland it a common mistake .
your photos looks very dull. are these processed images or raw?
Do as I say (don't stand on the dangerous side of the fence), not as I do (owning a tripod gives me the license to stand wherever I damn well please). No integrity whatsoever. [And you know in your heart that I am right on this one!!!]
#Disagree ....but you are entitled to your opinion.
Franz Gisin
You're not right. The point is that almost always the best shots could be taken either in inconvenient conditions or in some kind of dangerious ones. But Nick can't say that otherwise it will be an exhortation to the people to risk their lives or health. Nobody wants to take such a responsibility. So, I repeat: to take the best shot you should endure enconvenience or even take a risk, but in any case, whatever will happen to you, it's only your own responsibility, and when you "go to the dangerous side of the fence" you should clearly realize that.
Nick and I already agreed to disagree. He's not going to budge. And neither am I. I also get the impression that you are not in the mood to budge either! If we are only responsible for ourselves, I would probably agree with both of you. But Nick is no longer a teenager - he has responsibilities beyond just himself.
Of course he's not a teenager (so am I, believe or not!), of course he has responsibilities beyond himself and THAT'S WHY he can't say "risk your life to get the best shot" - as I told previously!.. Did you read my comment attentively?.. Ah, whatever! As you're not going to budge - forget it!
Its also about respecting the rules, not just assuming "its all about me." Look what's happened to photo opportunities in Iceland as a result of wholesale ignoring of the host's rules.
