I finally got my T-Rexx from Valhalla off of Amazon, and I'm glad I bought two instead of my fourth or fifth Buck 110 folder. Two of THESE for the price of ONE Buck 110? A MUCH better DEAL.
You edc an Espada? You sir, are a badass! Subbed! I will pick this one up as a daily carry reliable folder. As a self defense knife, I would say: There are better knives out there more suited to that task. Ex. Sallywag Tactical: MDV Plus One, Fisher Knives: Beckwith Covert, Tops: El Pionero, Colonel Blades: LowVz, and even Colonel Folder. TKell is another great brand of Tactical knives. I have a few. All knives I carry (except the Beckwith Covert) that one is on the list. Am I a badass? No. But, you aren't gonna take me without a fight!
I had been looking at this knife on Amazon, because I had to sell my OG Large Espada. One of the first two runs, and I'm sure if this because I had also bought a Medium Espada bavk then as well. It was my favorite pocket knife. So seeing your video, you've sold me on getting a couple of them! Thanks for the in depth review and demonstrations. 👍
@@michaelrizzo5523 Right 👍But it reminds me of my medium espada that I had and I figured this would fill the pocket carry void I've had since selling my Large Espada. 🤷♂️
@@michaelrizzo5523 It's a beautiful knife, and caught my eye Saturday when I was deciding if I wanted to grab another Buck 110, or not. They've gone down hill quite a bit since Chuck Buck left his son in charge. Then I saw this knife by Valhalla, and took a good look at it, and decided to hold off on the Buck 110, and saved the T-Rex on my list. I decided to look it up here, and there's so many reviews. Yours was the first I watched, and it's settled, I'm ordering one this week.
You should try the G-10 Espada Large. You can get them for around $100 or so, now. I highly recommend that one, over the Fancy Collectible Model, if you want one to actually carry and to use it for Self-Defense. Myself, I like to carry the Large G-10 Espada and I just Collect the Fancy one I have, along with it's Bigger, Fancy, Brother, the XL. They're, both, Safe Queens... Check out the G-10 Model and see if you'd like that one better for Self-Defense... Right on. I always enjoy listening to your point of view. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
A smaller knife is a compromise that trades speed and convenience for reach and deterrence. I can see why someone would carry a separate martial blade just in case. :) The T-Rex is nice for the price.
Good review Mike , I would have had no idea that the knife was as good as it is if I had not seen this video, and I have seen it on Amazon for some time and gave just a fraction of time in thinking about it. But now I see it in a whole different light after your testing and receiving, now I like it. Thanks Mike ,👍
Thank you! I didn't know, just by it's look if the knife was worth getting or not, it is (thnx to you!). I liked it's look the moment I saw it BUT, I couldn't shake that gas station stigma! You obliterated that stigma with this video... Chunky, sturdy blade. Wasn't expecting that either. It's a good "tribute" to the medium Espada! I hope Valhala sells a ton of them making Cold Steel re-think their decision to discontinue the medium Espada!!! Money talks lol...
Oddly, I already had this one, we have very similar taste in knives 😂 I also have all 3 sizes of the espada. Which I won't use, because I like them to much. 😂 Picked this up as a usable "tribute", and I was very pleased. A bit heavy, but I do EDC it a good bit. Plus, I'm not afraid of marking it up. It has held up well to light use. Another Great Review!! Thanks
The Espada Medium has a 3.5" Blade; it's not 4 inches... I have the Espada Medium Folders... But, yes, that 9ne does look a lot like the Espada (looks)... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I'd love one of these but typically amazon does not ship bladed items to the UK or sell them on their UK site, just like eBay over here, can you please leave a link to the actual company? I've googled them and got nowhere so far, just other companies that make kitchen knives which they call the Valhalla line of products etc.. thanks! Great review as always!
I sent a message to Valhalla Knives. They distribute at least in the US through "Sky Trendy" but I can't find them anywhere but Amazon either. I'll let you know as soon as they get back to me.
Damn that's unfortunate and odd! I always assume these lower priced companies are Chinese or Indian and would sell to as large a market as possible, even most American knife companies are generally available worldwide in 'friendly' countries at least. Thanks for the info though and getting back to me so fast! I wonder if there's another 'clone' out there?...lol
@michaelrizzo5523 I just bought the knife, the flipper tab makes it so that if the lock failed, you'd probably pinch your finger more than cut your finger. Mine can easily partially open if you don't flick the flipper tab firmly. It catches some friction about midway through opening. The inexpensive price showed a little on mine. Other than that small detail, I love it.
I love the espada. looks like a cool tribute.

Great review! I’m a content creator as well. I just bought this knife and will be doing testing on it myself. Great work, brother!

It's not an Espada, but it is a nice Navaja-style knife, especially for the price

@@brucelaborin2124 It does indeed appeal to my love for the Espada

I do like this design, and the price was worth taking a risk on it.
Picked this up based on yer vid👍⚡🔥
Could drill the blade and add a snaggle tooth to make it wave deployable.

I didn't know this knife existed. Thanks for the video. I'll be ordering one soon. 👍
It's a nice "little" knife. Very appealing, even though it's not an Espada.

Thank you! Great minds do think alike.
I’ll check it out I don’t carry my espada much but really like it. This might be a good back up to it.
That was basically my thought: Smaller, (much) cheaper substitute

I would be scared to stab wood without wearing a heavy glove. Liner locks can fail
I've been lucky so far, but I have some knives I wouldn't try it with.
