Well, that's how it goes for me.....I'll get a dispatcher.......dispatcher does great......dispatcher is promoted.......I get a new dispatcher.....repeat lol
My first week was pretty bad. I picked up a 1 day run on Thursday after orientation, before Easter. Arrived Thursday night late ready to unload first thing Friday morning. Had a load waiting on me to pick up heading south to get me home for the weekend, which I wasn’t expected. Problem wasn’t the load on my trailer belonged union company that was shut down on Good Friday. So I got stuck under a load all weekend. Dispatch got layover pay. Scheduled a load on Monday that paid decent. Showed up early to pick up on Monday after my delivery. Waited all day to get loaded for them to tell me they were shutting down for the night at 4pm. Be back tomorrow. Next day they came back and said it would probably be Wednesday before I get loaded. So tues I had to take a less than desirable load to get back rolling. 2 day run for no pay. I couldn’t deliver until Friday to the long deadheads setting me back. Thank goodness I didn’t have a truck payment because I netted(pre taxes) $1500. All in all still happy so far with my dispatch. Customers are a different beast that you really have no control over.
This happens more than usual running out east, I stay west of the Rockies most of the time. What areas are you running? From what you were saying this is definitely a nightmare situation for any trucker! Sorry to hear about your bad fortune just starting off. Sounds like those guys will be the next one's being promoted...somebody's gonna end up getting a new dispatcher lol
