hey man, so the rules state is cannot be audiobooks it must be text books....i am with you on the reading, it not one of my best skills...but i found that being forced to read daily actually made the program better for me, as it was an opportunity to improve something i was not good at. that said, just bc the challenge says text books only, that doesnt mean you have to follow it. do whats best for you, even if its not the "true" 75 hard...you are still working towards a better you regardless.
Can't Hurt Me is the book by David Goggins that you were looking for. It is the perfect book to help push you through any challenge. Goggins overcame unreal adversity and you can use his story to help you dig deep and overcome whatever you're going through. I listened to the audiobook over the course of a few months while upping my running mileage and loved it. The day-in, day-out time commitment of this challenge seems like the hardest part (to me at least). What did you do to make the time? Is there a lighter version of this challenge? (same duration, but 1 workout/day)

I really want to try this, but the problem is I don't have a traditional home, per-se. I travel for work, lots of long road trips and stuff. I do get into a groove and stay in one place for up to 2 weeks at a time, but it's those days of long travel where I really don't think I'm going to have time to do 2 45 min workouts (those are usually 18 hour days, I gotta sleep). So maybe I'll try this after I figure out some concessions for those long or atypical days.
Treat it as a blank day. Commit to the diet, do a 2x 20 minute workouts (for metaboliam) Once in the morning and once before you eat lunch or something. But don’t treat it as one of the 75 days
Nice! I would recommend to start mentally preparing for the later part of the month with the holidays. I did mine during the holidays, and it was probably the most tempting time of my challenge, but totally doable. Also, not sure where you live, but if you live in cold temps, be ready for that too. Looking forward to seeing your day 75!
Can the outdoor workout still get completed if it’s swimming as a form of cardio? Thank you for the informative video btw, straight to the point, and very knowledgeable on the topic
Appreciate that! So, check out my video on the workout rule, it covers swimming.....the key there is that, you have to really make sure you are doing exercise while in the pool..and not just like....floating or relaxing...which can be hard to avoid in the pool haha. But, anything that makes your heart rate elevate is good in my book.
@@FizznessShizzness thank you for the speedy response, I really appreciate that as I plan on starting tomorrow and have been doing laps for the last week so I’m glad to know I can keep that up (just with the extra 25 minutes haha). This challenge seems like the type of thing that should be kept up for the rest of life and like it’s very life changing
The only part of this that seems difficult for me would be the gallon of water, it’s not hot enough in Scotland to need that much water, in the US it would be easier because it would be mainly staying hydrated, would it still be fine to do the challenge with 2.75L of water (half a gallon). Because that much water with nothing added to it, would just fill me up rather than hydrate me.
Please note that a US gallon is 3.78 liters, while the UK gallon is 4.54 liters. As the creator of the challenge is from US, I think it's safe to assume that he is referring to the American measure. It's still a lot, but less than you thought.
One of the workouts has to be outside... would swimming count even if it was in an indoor pool? Is it to get you outside or is it to get you away from equipment?
It’s super cold in our area. Trying to figure out how to do outside when only dark and cold. Have the water, weights at gym, reading, food, all the rest.
Hello😊 thank you for all the Informationen. I had a bad shoulder injury so can both of the 45min Workouts be outside? (2 walks for example)? I am only on day 3 but got confused since I have heard that one must be inside as well. I want to do it 100% right. Thank you and greetings from Switzerland
So you have to eat healthy do moderate workout, read and stay hydrated? What a revolution! 😂 I'm doing that without knowing it's a trend lol Except taking picture of myself god forbid I hate selfies 😂
How did it go for you Theresa? I hope it was successful 🙏. I started today but also failed today. In the afternoon and into the evening I had a nasty headache and didn't feel well besides.
this is just the dopamine version of self-improvement, I've done the "75 hard" for a year straight, just change your life without going all out such as a dopamine detox and you'll most likely see far more progress than the 75 hard.
Man, i just don’t have the time for this most of the week lol. If I didn’t work 10s with an hour commute both ways then ya but Friday through Sunday I can definitely get it done.
So, thats part of the challenge...is figuring what to sacrifice, if anything, in order to get it all done. the diet and water and all the rules are easy enough...its the time management part of it thats the real challenge imo.
@@FizznessShizzness I mean, I guess I could give up some sleep Monday through Thursday but yeah I when I have to wake up at 3:45 AM and leave my house for work by 4:45 to be there at 6 and then not get home till 530 and it makes things really difficult seeing as how theres a lot of responsibilities with family between 5:30 and 9pm. I think I’ll try a modified version and just be happy with slower results.
Great question. So I would say this is a tough one, but my gut says....no. Here is why...Are you doing these 2 exercise periods for the 75 Hard Challenge..or are you doing them to get to school? Since you would be doing it anyways to get to school...it feels less like its for the challenge...and more of a matter of convenience. You really want your exercises to be in ADDITION to your regular life processes...because a big part of the challenge is learning how to prioritize your day with the added time needed to do the workouts, make food, read, etc. But, there is also a general rule of like...if you aren't sure about something be ok or not, it's probably not ok. So in this case, if you are questioning it already, I think it's out. After all, you don't want to get to day 75 and feel like you got by too easy on yourself. But in the end, you only answer to you, do what makes you happy and is best for your life goals.
I need advice on some quick belly fat losing excercizes I can do to lose some belly fat that makes it very uncomfortable to appendix carry my daily carry rig. My time is very limited as my wife has cancer and needs a lot of my attention and care and We’re also fostering and adopting two of our grandkids, Plus I’m self employed and run my own business which is a blessing time wise.
The best fat busting exercise I know of is walking 10k steps a day. It takes about 90 to 105 minutes. You can split it in half and do 45 or so twice a day. Treadmill, your yard, around the block, or even in your house. There are no quick belly fat exercises that work, but walking like the above tends to shrink that mostly, even though it's all over as well.
So that specific aspect is just my own recommendation, there is no rule that says it Hass to be at the same time every day. As long as you get it done each day, you’re good.
From what I gathered from researching this challenge 75 days straight of exercise is required, but the 2 workouts a day could be just a walk and yoga or something low impact like that for your “rest days”
Per the challenge creator, the water has gotta be plain water for the "true" 75. That being said....you are only accountable to yourself, so whatever you gotta do that's right for you, do that.
Hey man this is day 3 of 75 hard and I want ur opinion on something. I'm so happy with this challenge uts so good to be healthy, I love the foods with the diet I chosed I love the workouts I love the book I read, but I think it's gonna work for me cuz it's just 75 days I think it's a waste of time can u help me?
A lot of good things can happen in 75 days....i think in the first few days, its quite easy, because you are excited and focused on your new adventure. but it becomes a lot harder each day as you go, because you are not as excited, and you have to rely on your commitment to the process to get you through. if you stick to the program rules, you will find benefits on day 75...
as long as you get your gallon in, you can drink anything else you want AS LONG AS it fits your overall required diet for the food portion of the challenge
Personally thinking about doing this, with the major difference of changing 2 45 minutes workouts to 90 minutes accumulative (still adhering to the outside rule). Just because I don’t have the time to do two separate workouts especially when my preferred exercise is hiking, so going on a 2 or 3 hr hike after work and then needed to do a separate workout after getting home doesn’t make any sense for me personally.
Totally get that. Just keep in mind that if you choose to do that, then you are not doing 75 Hard,...dont get me wrong...it's still hard...its just not the 75 Hard Challenge.
Great question. So, according to the creator, its supposed to be 2 45 minute workouts...splitting the workouts wouldn't "technically" qualify....but this sorta goes back to my stance in general on the challenge...people are going to need to make adjustments at times to make it work...even though it might not be the "actual" 75 hard...its still 75 days, and its still hella hard. so is it a cheat? what you are doing is still hella hard...so this is probably a personal question that you need to answer...are you ok with it not being the "technical" challenge? Remember, you only gotta answer to yourself and do your best.
@@FizznessShizzness Lol. Tough questions to ask myself. It also says there should be a 3 hour gap between workouts, right? I adjusted my ride home from work today so it was 45 minutes. I'm on day 1 so I am technically still in the game!
@@FizznessShizzness I really don’t understand the “technically” and “actual” and making it sound like it’s okay to modify this specific challenge or that people are going to NEED to make changes. 75 Hard has specific rules set in place, clear for anyone and everyone to understand. If anyone is going into this challenge with plans to modify it to fit their needs, or think “oh I’ll just change this rule when things get hard”, they should go do 75 Soft. Simple as that. I get it’s still bettering yourself to try and follow this to the best of your ability, but it’s a CHALLENGE for a reason. Not meant to be easy and certainly not for everyone
@@beepboopbopper7710 appreciate the comment. i think there are people who don't care if they follow the exact rules or not, and don't care if they can say they completed 75 Hard..they are just looking for a challenge. I agree with everything you said, the challenge has no wiggle room. However, if people decide to create wiggle room, that's fine, and it's still going to be a challenge, it's just not 75 Hard.
As long as its outside. Just remember, when you look back on day 75, you want to feel like you really gave the challenge your all. If swimming does that for you, then go for it.
so they actually say its all supposed to be together...AND to boot, they really want them spread apart...like several hours apart. of course, im a big fan of doing whatever you gotta do to get through it...for some people, the rules as they stand are just not possible...so even though your revisions might not be the "true" 75 hard..its still hella hard and still 75 days.
Hello, I need some clarification. What happens if you literally cannot go outside for a workout? I live in Northern Wisconsin, and we get to -30 during the winter, we have had -50 more than once. You literally cannot go outside because you'll die. Do you have to start over? Same with say a hurricane. Do we just do 90 minutes inside?
@@matthewbrouillard2970 Probably yes, however if I want to follow the principals beyond 75 days, I wouldn't be able to do the 45 minutes after the initial 75 days. But, I suppose after the first 75 it's tweakable
I gotcha, but I don’t think people are very strict about there 75 lifestyle after they complete it. Now they probably live a lot healthier afterwards ( and down the road go for the challenge again). But I wouldn’t base it off the fact “once it’s over”. It’s not an easy task, it’s very rough and takes a lot of planning when you first start. Your gliding over the fact that you have to complete 75 hard, your worrying about not being able to hike in -10 weather. You will learn to over come task when you are lacing up your sneakers to jog in the ran. You just have to time your 75 days.
@@matthewbrouillard2970 This is true, I understand what you're saying. I'm not concerned about the actual 75 hard challenge, I'm not going into it off the couch with man boobs. I am going into it as someone who trains every day, eats well, mostly hydrated. I am wanting to do the initial 75 for a new type of challenge in front of me, and I like that principle of at least 45 outside a lot, because I do tend to spend too much time indoors. I know my water could be better as well, and I dred the cold shower. I'd rather do 60 minutes in a sauna without fluid intake vs 2 minutes in a cold shower. Basically what I am saying is, the challenge isn't too daunting to complete but it is a new challenge ahead of me. I had some work done on my shoulder in mid June so it'll be able August when I am back in action, and the 10.5 weeks after falls in October, so just trying to plan this around the gnarly weathsr
yeah, i felt like it was just too wordy for my own taste. not taking anything away from the author, dude is brilliant. just had trouble hanging with it.
I thought it was good but needed some more editing to cut away all the extra stuff! I skipped some parts because they were repetitive - overall was really good tho
So, that's actually one of the primary purposes of this challenge, forcing people to reprioritize their life to accommodate, squeezing everything in each day. If you do the math, if you work for 14 hours, and let's say that you sleep six, you have four hours left throughout the day too, get in 90 minutes worth of workouts. Certainly not ideal, and I'm not even sure that I recommend it, but it's doable on paper. Have you checked out the 75 Soft Challenge? Don't let the name fool you, it's still 75 days of daily challenges, just not as strict. I've got a video on my channel here somewhere about it.
Sorry, just saw this. So according to the rules, you cannot combine both into a single workout. Part of the value of splitting them up is that it forces you to have to prioritize your time appropriately throughout the day in order to accommodate both workouts. Squeezing them together into one is still a physical challenge, but it subverts the intention of splitting them up. Having said that, nobody's keeping score for you, except you, so do whatever you gotta do for you. But if you want to be able to say that you completed the 75 hard challenge in truth, they've got to be split up. I do have a video in my playlist that reviews the different rules and gets a little little bit more in depth to each one for questions questions like these.
So I think that there is a difference between something being uncomfortable, and something being unsafe, and that to me is the dividing line on whether or not, you should let it impact your decision to do this challenge whenever weather gets to this point. I know it's uncomfortable, but is it unsafe? I honestly don't know, it doesn't get that cold here, but I'm sure where you live you have a better feel for that.

My midwife told me long ago that you drink more water through a straw and that has definitely been the case for me 🤷🏼♀️ I drink way more out of my water bottle with a straw then a wide mouth jar or glass.
not using a straw can delay upper lip wrinkles 😊
I have a ton of kindle books I need to read this will fit fine .
I recently broke my ankle and collarbone It’s been a few months and healing is almost done. Doctor said I shouldn’t even be doing body weight training. As someone who was always training, I lost myself and gained unhealthy weight. I’m waiting on X-rays and once I’m cleared I’m starting the path on completing this!
sorry you had to go through that...but it sounds like you've come out of it determined AF!
hey man, so the rules state is cannot be audiobooks it must be text books....i am with you on the reading, it not one of my best skills...but i found that being forced to read daily actually made the program better for me, as it was an opportunity to improve something i was not good at. that said, just bc the challenge says text books only, that doesnt mean you have to follow it. do whats best for you, even if its not the "true" 75 hard...you are still working towards a better you regardless.
Where can I find the rules? Is there a book about this challenge or something? 🙂
@@DontCallMeBillieJeanjust google it
Can't Hurt Me is the book by David Goggins that you were looking for.
(same duration, but 1 workout/day)
I am on day 3 and I am in pain like omg when does it get better
I’m on day 4 and reading Goggins book is helping me tremendously. He’s a beast. Keeps you motivated and going hard.

Have you checked out the 75 Medium or Soft? They are still challenging, but not as demanding as the Hard.
Treat it as a blank day. Commit to the diet, do a 2x 20 minute workouts (for metaboliam) Once in the morning and once before you eat lunch or something. But don’t treat it as one of the 75 days
Starting tomorrow, will be hard but let’s see

I consider my textbooks for flight training as self help since they are teaching me to be a pilot.
Nice video!!!
Does playing 2 hours an outdoor sport count as 2nd outdoor workout?
One of the workouts has to be outside... would swimming count even if it was in an indoor pool? Is it to get you outside or is it to get you away from equipment?
It's to get you outside :) At least, I presume that's why...to fight the elements, to get some Vitamin D...can you take the roof off the pool room? :)
@@FizznessShizzness I don't think the YMCA would like that lol. Thank you

this is just the dopamine version of self-improvement, I've done the "75 hard" for a year straight, just change your life without going all out such as a dopamine detox and you'll most likely see far more progress than the 75 hard.
Huh?
Man, i just don’t have the time for this most of the week lol. If I didn’t work 10s with an hour commute both ways then ya but Friday through Sunday I can definitely get it done.
So, thats part of the challenge...is figuring what to sacrifice, if anything, in order to get it all done. the diet and water and all the rules are easy enough...its the time management part of it thats the real challenge imo.

How did it go for you? 🙏
Will smoking 1joint of cannabis would break 75 hard? I mean you only exclude alcohol right
Nah bro it’s no substances. No nicotine no synthetic drugs etc
i cycle to school every day 45 min (from home to school and 45 min back) would this count for a outside workout?
My time is very limited as my wife has cancer and needs a lot of my attention and care and We’re also fostering and adopting two of our grandkids,
Plus I’m self employed and run my own business which is a blessing time wise.
Hey thanks for sharing your tips , can you please share the link for downloading the 75 hard app
thx it`s really help

I’m not home at the same time everyday to take the daily pictures because I drive trucks. Is there an alternative to taking them?
So that specific aspect is just my own recommendation, there is no rule that says it Hass to be at the same time every day. As long as you get it done each day, you’re good.
Generally I skip exercise on Sunday, in 75 hard can we skip a day or we need to consecutively 75 days exercise is must.
From what I gathered from researching this challenge 75 days straight of exercise is required, but the 2 workouts a day could be just a walk and yoga or something low impact like that for your “rest days”
Just walk or do yoga/stretches. Important to rest your body but you can take it as an active rest day and still burn calories.
Please suggest for smokers .
Shall we cut down the number or totally no smoke for 75 days !
Quit smoking…
Yes quit smoking, i know that's alot harder said then done but as much as you can possibly do
Hii can you please suggest me that what I can eat for 75 days.

Can the two workouts be more than 45 minutes?
Yup!
for the 2nd workout I do sports like football and badminton
Can I add real line or lemons or cucumbers or lemon / lime juice ? Can I still drink unsweet tea outside of the gallon of water
Per the challenge creator, the water has gotta be plain water for the "true" 75. That being said....you are only accountable to yourself, so whatever you gotta do that's right for you, do that.
@@FizznessShizzness but after that gallon anything goes right ?

A lot of good things can happen in 75 days....i think in the first few days, its quite easy, because you are excited and focused on your new adventure. but it becomes a lot harder each day as you go, because you are not as excited, and you have to rely on your commitment to the process to get you through. if you stick to the program rules, you will find benefits on day 75...

Do I have to ONLY drink the gallon of water for 75days? or can I have juice, coffee, gatorade etc along side the daily gallon?
as long as you get your gallon in, you can drink anything else you want AS LONG AS it fits your overall required diet for the food portion of the challenge
Just water ! Guess why ? It’s a challenge!!! And you are doing a health challenge so no Gatorade etc does not count … guess why ? No junk !!!
would a calorie-deficit diet count as a ''diet"?
yup, as long as its a healthy deficit. too drastic probably is too far outside what would be considered a "diet"...
Can I do yoga instead of workout?
Personally thinking about doing this, with the major difference of changing 2 45 minutes workouts to 90 minutes accumulative (still adhering to the outside rule). Just because I don’t have the time to do two separate workouts especially when my preferred exercise is hiking, so going on a 2 or 3 hr hike after work and then needed to do a separate workout after getting home doesn’t make any sense for me personally.
Totally get that. Just keep in mind that if you choose to do that, then you are not doing 75 Hard,...dont get me wrong...it's still hard...its just not the 75 Hard Challenge.
gotta wake up earlier!
excuses...
Im splitting my outdoor exercise into 2 with my commute back and forth to work. And its directly after my indoor workout. Is that a cheat?
I'm on day 1 so I am technically still in
the game!
You can rule your own life. Letter of the law versus spirit of the law.
Does swimming count as a outside workout?
As long as its outside. Just remember, when you look back on day 75, you want to feel like you really gave the challenge your all. If swimming does that for you, then go for it.
Can the hour and a half workout be all at once or with little break between?
so they actually say its all supposed to be together...AND to boot, they really want them spread apart...like several hours apart. of course, im a big fan of doing whatever you gotta do to get through it...for some people, the rules as they stand are just not possible...so even though your revisions might not be the "true" 75 hard..its still hella hard and still 75 days.
Can you time it for the summer?
@@matthewbrouillard2970
Probably yes, however if I want to follow the principals beyond 75 days, I wouldn't be able to do the 45 minutes after the initial 75 days.
@@matthewbrouillard2970
This is true, I understand what you're saying.
I just have to know, why was Jordan Peterson book “12 rules for life” a burden? Was it actually hard to read for you or was it something else?
yeah, i felt like it was just too wordy for my own taste. not taking anything away from the author, dude is brilliant. just had trouble hanging with it.
I thought it was good but needed some more editing to cut away all the extra stuff! I skipped some parts because they were repetitive - overall was really good tho
Can the reading be audio books?
You had me until rule 4. I can't read dawg 😂
I work 12-14 hr shifts so I think the 2 45 min work outs a day is not gonna be possible for me , I do walk about about 8 miles a day at work though
I wonder if lmnt powder is an exception or lemon and salt
I have been on the 75 hard for 14 days now . Can I have energy drinks???
I did. Just make sure to get your water down. Energy drinks can have some benefits when used sparingly.
@@FizznessShizzness thanks
Thanks for your video. I would like to know some tips regarding working out outside when the weather isn’t in your favor. Again, thanks!
Best video
Would you say it’s Fine to do a 90 minute working if two 45 minute workouts aren’t possible?
What if you live in an extremely cold location? Chicago can get down to -40 windchill and not sure 45min outside workout is possible every day
So I think that there is a difference between something being uncomfortable, and something being unsafe, and that to me is the dividing line on whether or not, you should let it impact your decision to do this challenge whenever weather gets to this point. I know it's uncomfortable, but is it unsafe? I honestly don't know, it doesn't get that cold here, but I'm sure where you live you have a better feel for that.
