Absolutely agree that Percy sucks in auto, I saw nobody using her in chap 14. Still used her, though in manual, which allowed me to time her strikes when a strong enemy appeared (thus eliminating her weakness). I can concur that one could do well without her, but I don't think she's absolute shit... just, very niche
Saw many people run her in w14 but w14 release was before unicorn retrofit. I ran ryuuhou + jeanne in w14 but I didn't have perseus at the time. w15 I didn't see anyone using her.
been wanting to avoid this topic, but i have to say what worked for me in world 15, to get me Houston 2 i tried following your Aquila / Volga setups, and it just didn't work for me. but when i used Unicorn retrofit and Perseus together, the stage was so much easier to clear, and now i have Houston 2. not saying she is the best carrier, but.. she was the solution to the issue i was having with clearing world 15, despite copy/pasting your setups for world 15.. this is also not saying you're wrong, just what worked for me.
@@UthurRytan the double healing from Perseus seemed to give more sustain between fights, as the fights only lasted about 40 seconds, and before 35~ seconds, Perseus out heals Unicorn. i'm certain it wouldn't have worked out if the battles lasted longer. i did some manual gameplay to get through the 1st support carrier fight
well perseus is the best back then because map 14 and 15 doesn't exist. She can't handle high pressure stages otherwise she is doing her job just great, i still use her on opsi tho
Don't move the goalposts. The problem is that TO THIS DAY people keep yapping across the mountains that Perseus is good and won't shut up about it. The point always was if she's the best healer and no, she can't cut it anymore while also doing no damage. Even if you're still comparing ch12/13, she gets outclassed at this point by Unicorn retro and others. She's for the scrap heap.

Timing burn negation to go off the moment burn is inflicted is difficult to do on auto. Musashi protects your carriers so she's the safest option but it is possible to construct a fleet without her that works just as well
Yes, she was. Late-game map mostly focus on stay standing for long time battle so 90% reload is not smart choice, also she have low efficiency % which mean her damage doesn't that help if without 2 preload
Compared to Perseus, any healer would. Ryuuhou is a targeted healer, which is the type that synergizes best with Unicorn. She just has bad damage and that weird SS synergy, so not the best but still decent-ish.

i think im cooked xD 1 year playing this game and i'm currently doing chap 13.. what mob and boss fleets can you advise for me to clear atleast till chap 14?
It depends on which ships you have in your account, and Jimmy made several guides about fleet building for chapter 14, even if you don't have the exact ships shown, understanding the roles each ship fill will help you to build your own fleet with the ships you have, but as a general advice, raise Unicorn and retrofit her, maybe even do that twice if you don't mind duping, try to get New Jersey and Shinano if you don't have them, but I recommend not focusing on them too much, specially if you have already reached chapter 13, New Jersey seems to get power crept by every UR battleship that is released these days, and Amagi(CV) is currently available, so you should pull for her if possible anyway, she's very good, don't focus too much on upgrading to +13 rainbow equipment if you don't have +13 gold equipment, you should only start doing that once you have an already good enough number of +13 gold equipment, you should focus on BB guns, planes and torps, and maybe the Hedgehog because of submarines on chapter 14, and raise Laffey II, I think you have her, she's extremely tanky and has very good AA, and retrofit Eldridge, she makes everyone tanky, unless you're unlucky or have unlucky timings, you can get her from the PvP shop if you don't have her, you don't even have to win PvP fights to get the PvP currency.

@@raikou7145 Sorry for not replying earlier, my notifs were off, I think it would be best to have at least a BB or BC at the flagship position simply so that they can shoot at suicide boats, and they're tankier than CVs, so they won't die as easily, I don't know what you meant by Saratoga with Guam and Laffey II in your Eagle Union fleet, since she's a CV, but otherwise, if you substitute Ark Royal with a BB or BC, and put someone as either a DPS or to support your main fleet in your vanguard, like Aurora, since I think many enemies on ch14 are DD and CLs, I think that would be a decent fleet for mobbing, so: Some BB or BC, Unicorn, Enterprise on main and Guam, Aurora (maybe), and Laffey II on vanguard For your Sakura Empire boss fleet, I think it would be better to get someone with good AA there, basically every Sakura ship sucks at AA with the exception of Shimanto, but raising her may be hard or too time consuming, if you can, I recommend getting a San Diego, retrofitting her and getting her module and then substituting Yuudachi, I'm pretty sure her damage should be higher on most scenarios and Sandy's AA is very big, and if you feel your vanguard is having a hard time surviving, put Eldridge retrofit on the subtank position and the problem will probably get fixed, and if possible, substitute either of Hiryuu or Souryuu with Amagi CV, her big damage simply eclipses the buffs they give to each other. So Nagato, Amagi CV and Hiryuu or Souryuu (I think Souryuu should be better if survivability isn't an issue, since dive bombers are better than torpedo bombers in ch14) on main and Unzen, San Diego and Yukikaze (or Eldridge) on vanguard. Also, good AA guns, no need for the rainbow one, I'm pretty sure you can just slap a +10 Quadruple 40mm Bofors on everyone on your vanguard and it's fine, especially with Laffey II and Guam in one fleet and Sandy on the other, and the hedgehog (put it on whoever has the biggest ASW on the mobbing fleet) are a must for ch14. And no need to rush with advancing on the campaign, it's permanent content, I myself took a year to actually do ch14 because of laziness and then a month to adequate a squad I was confident with, do it when you feel comfortable enough to do it.

Perseus is really bad with unicorn, their roles overlap as low dmg healers. You should get better results running Persy instead of Uni, but fleets with Uni will persom better
Klaudia is very strong. Great healing and amazing damage for a healer. Definitely would work, but not as good as Aquila when paired with Unicorn because Aquila heals specific low hp targets. Maybe Zuihou would work better she seems pretty solid but I haven't tried her in hard maps. You can then put Klaudia in the other team.

Why use Musashi with 2 healers who heal the entire team? Use any other BB. Personally, I use Unicorn in my mob fleet and Perseus in my boss fleet. My mob fleet gets the cross fleet vanguard healing so I can level weaker ships and my boss fleet is 100% hp for the 2nd boss fight so I can level ships there too.
@@umitatsuya2492 World 15 bosses are easy enough that you can optimize the boss fleet for cross fleet barrages and level 2 to 4 ships in the mob fleet.
@@JimmyAL I use Musashi in the boss fleet and Bismarck Zwei(or a leveling BB) with 380mm SKC in the mob fleet. I haven't ever had any problems with my Unicorn nor my flagship leveling ship getting killed.

The main takeaway from this should have been that using any other damage dealing carrier is better than using Perseus. For a pure RN player you could use Albion, Illustrious or her sisters or Theseus and be better off than using Perseus

Were you on manual? Perseus + Unicorn is so much better on manual vs them on auto it's not even close

You would think that having a 90% penalty to her reload would be a clear enough signpost that she was bad

@AslihanSoylu Damaging crossfleets overlap other ships/crossfleets, so they end up doing 0 effective damage, and a heal is more useful than 0 damage.
