    I just came from your last test video where you did this @ 40psi and was wondering how come you didn’t test at higher voltage since your voltage source is variable, lo and behold this is what I was looking for 😎
    I have a built 2.0 evo 8 with a hat modified for 2 walbros and run a F90000295 hardwired as the primary with the F90000285 as the secondary, ECU triggered pump (because they’re on a y block on the hat, obviously if I run no check valve on 2nd pump, it would simply backflow into the tank which would be stupid to do 🤣
    Anyway it’s great to see that a BAP would be beneficial in a return setup where you have to run the pump and account for a 50psi delta-P (4 cylinders need big boost to make big power) obviously that’s not a problem with mustangs, as when I had my whipple 03 cobra, 2x 267 Walbros flow more than enough LPH at 55-65psi rail pressure to make damn good power on E and a blower setup.. it’s a little different trying to make power at 95psi rail pressure though
    Thanks for the info! sweet testing rig btw

    Hi wondering if you could tell me if a walbro 540 outflows a Deatschwerks DW810 no info out there regards

    Very good review, can you please explain the good and bad with and without check valve..I'm looking to see wich one to get...525or535...is for a 300zx turbo..thanks.

      The good is the pump is more efficiently and flows better without an internal outlet checkvalve. The 295 flows right at 50 lph more or 10%. Compared to the 285 with the valve which flows 475lph. Some bads I guess would be you can't stagger it off in a multi pump return system. And a returnless system with no valve takes a little longer to prime and crank.

      Thank you for your prompt reply, soo I should be fine with the 535 then..I dont have a return less system but I do have 4second prime click before starting. Soo the only drawback will be a hard start then rite?

    • @lightblade543
      @lightblade543  3 года назад

      @@turbofedz8997 not necessarily depends on the application. Alot of oem systems have a valve in the hat assembly or ecm parameters to prime the system at key on before starting. So it can happen but really depends on the setup.

    have you ever tested the knock off fuel pumps ? be cool to see how they stack up to the real ones

    So would you say that it's okay to run this pump with a Kenny Bell boost-a- pump with a return line in the system?

      I'm not speaking for S&H here and his test is a great piece of info. However, from experience I have a JMS booster on this pump running e85 for the last 2000 miles without issue. Does that mean it will last forever? No but so far so good.

    I couldn't find it, have you tested the 274 walbro pump? Curious on its amp draw if its same as the 267.

    • @lightblade543
      @lightblade543  3 года назад +1

      Identical until about 75psi when the 267 pressure relief starts to open. If your base pressure plus boost is more than 75psi go with the 274.

      @mgrotel 3 года назад

      @@lightblade543 I have a 267 that I suspect cost me about $7000 in engine damage. With base at 45psi and hitting 35psi boost pressure, I put a hole in a cylinder wall. If I ship this pump to you, would you be open to testing it to in fact prove on video this is the case? Or if not video, some sort of documented test? Thank you!

    • @lightblade543
      @lightblade543  3 года назад +1

      @@mgrotel That data is measured and published. Flow drops off around 100lph from 75psi to 90psi. 7-8 years ago guys were modding the relief valves to stay shut for more flow at higher pressures. Until ti released the 274 version based on feedback a year or 2 later.

    What do you test your pumps in,gas?

    • @lightblade543
      @lightblade543  3 года назад +2

      No that would be dangerous for a rig like this. I use mineral spirits which is the standard test fluid for gasoline, it has the same specific gravity of gasoline but is way less flammable.

    Hi there, im based in New Zealand and have a late get mustang. Im trying to install a 525 in the oem basket but am facing an issue without the Venturi outlet. Would something like this work? www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/fuel-pump-noob-question-single-pump-walbro-ti-no-venturi-outlet.169011/#post-3435065
