That’s a couple of cool knifes I bought these when I was a boy, I bought Imperial and Sabre knifes at the local five and dime store called Ben Franklins usually cost about fifty cents each, I had a small collection and carried one in my pocket everywhere I went, even to school, I was less than 10 yrs old and buying knives and carrying to school, sometimes the teacher would borrow my knife to open a envelope or package which always made me proud, I am 76 today and still carry two knives to work a Kizer brand clipped in my pocket and a Stanley brand that I use for boxes and such like it has a changeable blade which I actually sharpen rather than change the blade it works great for a $15 blade, I just bought two new knives both Case brand one a Copperlock and one a lock back single blade both really pretty

The maroon colored scotch Brite works great for cleaning rusty blades I've used it for years with no problems. Great work .

Thank you for cleaning it up by hand, instead of using power tools. I don’t have a DreMel so I do it by hand also. I plan on getting one but doing it by hand seems more satisfying and challenging to me.

George, I have an Old Hickory carving knife with the same grind. It is called a chisel grind, and when sharp it is really slicey! I only sharpen the beveled side and leave the flat side untouched and flat.
I love that oil can, reminds me of my grandpa and dad, they had different cans with different oils for specific tasks. I bought one at a garage sale just because it made me smile with nostalgia.
Your leather work is coming right along, I really liked the stitching pattern on the big sheath, rather impressive.

Turned up clean George that’s what matters , old knifes have years of old patina which I like .
Your sharpening is getting better and it shows. Nice pocket knifes I bet they can tell a few stories. You take care now.

I've got a very old shipwrights hewing axe with a single bevel. I've got very sharp. But the only way I could get it like that is to make a micro bevel on the opposite side with my very fine ceramic rods .

On that California clip blade with a flat side what I Dinis on the flat side I actually stone the flat side but just do it flat to remove the burr from sharpening the angled side first and use a fine grit like a 1000 or 1500 grit stone
