To answer more questions: 1) yes, when they catch the ball, it can bruise hands, break fingers etc. You can minimize it with good technique but it happens all the time. When the batter gets hit by the ball, their whole body is often bruised the next day (its legal to hit the batter with the ball, but harder to do so than in baseball since the batter has a bigger bat and the batter is expecting balls to come to their body or head). 2) Socring is complicated but basically after the batter hits the ball, they run to the opposite wicket (e.g think of it as a base) while his team mate runs to the batter's wicket. That constitutes one run. If you run again, that's two runs. If you hit the ball over the boundry (e.g fence) without the ball bouncing on the ground (eg home run), that's six runs. If it rolls over the boundry, its four runs. The total number of runs for a team can reach into the hundreds depending on the type of cricket. Each team has 11 players and they all bat twice in the traditional format and each team just bats once (and score as much as they can) in the newer shorter formats. Whoever has more runs at the end of the innings wins.
Some of the these catches were taken more than a decade ago by some of the most iconic players of that time like Jonty Rhodes, Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj Singh ,Ricky Ponting, Kapil Dev and many others.
You need to explain what an over is, it means nothing, otherwise 🤣 An over is 6 legal balls bowled (pitched). At the end of an over, the next bowler bowls from the opposite end of the pitch. In test cricket a bowler can bowl as many overs as they want, just not consecutive overs. In 50 over limited games, the bowler is restricted to 10 overs and in the 20 over game, just 4 overs. 50 over games typically last about 8 hours, 3.5 hours per team bowling and batting with a break between innings. 20 over games are usually done in about 3.5 hours with a break, once again between innings.
Best bowler to look at is Shane Warne. A few best wicket compilations out there, but his tutorials on how he makes the ball spin are really easy to understand if you want to learn about the game

Stadium is empty : White dress cricket game is a test match. It lasts for 5 days. 😅 Yup... 5 days. (Having breaks in between). But its called a test match for a reason. It tests the strength, stamina, consistency, patience and temperament of players in all of the possible ways. But as a fan we usually keep a check only on scores (no one can sit for 5 days) Grounds will be empty in this form of cricket for the most part. Then there are 2 more formats of the game - one day cricket (lasts for 8 hours with a few breaks in between). This one tests both temperament and energy of the teams. And T20 ( lasts for 4 hours with a few breaks) - this one is pure energy game.
I disagree, stadiums are filled, depending who's playing. Many people can watch the game for 5 days and appreciate the battle, some only get excited with the big shots and wickets, hence why we have ODI's and T20's.
5 day tests that end in draws unless there is bad weather are getting very rare. We recently has a test between South Africa and India that lasted just 106 overs, ending after lunch on day 2, that is shorter than the 60 over ODIs in the first 3 World Cups.
Hey my brothers. I am a retired cricketer and I love your reactions. However, please check out other catching videos - there are better catches in them. Love from Jamaica.
basically there is a guy at each end, the guy they are bowling to is there to defend those wickets (or as you term it, them sticks) they have to stop the ball from hitting those, the bowler will try and bowl a ball to either hit the wickets/sticks or bowl in a way that makes the batter hit to the bowlers team mates to catch the ball, when they hit the ball they have to run from one set of wickets/sticks to the other if they both make it to each end that is scored as a run, if you hit the ball and it reaches the boundary without anyone stopping it that is classed as 4 runs, if the ball is hit over the boundary that is classed as 6 runs, the ball can be bowled up to 100 mile an hour or in such a way where it spins or diverts back the wickets . imagine a ball made from a solid piece of cork or resin and covered with leather, that ball is solid, players have been killed from being hit with it hence the helmets with face guards . the games with the coloured uniforms are generally a one day game, 50 overs per side, each over consists of 7 balls so 350 balls per side, the games with the white uniforms are test games and can last up to 5 games, test matches are played between different countries unlike American sports where they state world championships but only played in local teams, i am pleased that at least one of you is making the effort to see outside your country, i mean when you asked who is the best cricketer and the other guy says, "me" i mean dude, wake up to yourself, the video you just watched is international standard, our school teams would school you, enjoy cricket for its international standards and skill set and stick to the level American sports that you reached personally, how did that work out for you? armchair legend?
12 hours for a one day game? Each team has to bowl its 50 overs in 3 hours 30 minutes. Add on time for lunch and it should not be more than around 7.5 hours. It can be complicated by bad weather, of course.

If the ball is caught on the full after the batsman hits it and the fielder is inside the boundary… then the batsman is out. That’s why that guy looked behind him… he was making sure he was inside the boundary when he caught that ball. If the players are all wearing white, they are playing 1st Class Cricket, usually a Test Match between another nation. Test matches go for up to 5 days (about 10am-6pm, with a Lunch and tea break). Each team will play two innings… unless the 1st team has scored so high a run tally that the 2nd r]team doesn’t reach that total at the end of their first innings. If that happens, the 1st team can force the 2nd team to immediately start their 2nd innings (called a Follow On). If they do not reach the 1st teams 1st innings total by the end of their 2nd innings, the 1st team will win without needing to bat for a 2nd innings at all. Sometimes a team will have such a massive run total, they won’t wait until all their team has batted, and been out… they will ‘Declare’ their innings closed early. Cricket is a very tactical game in this way. A single batsman can sometimes score over 300 runs in an innings.

Cricket is quite simple. A man at each end of the wicket with a bat determined to score runs. A wicket keeper to catch the balls that come through past the batsman and a fast bowler who wants to hurt people. Mookie if the ball hits the wickets (sticks) then the guy who’s batting is out! And yes the ball would mash up your hand for real!! Solid leather with what’s called a cork in the middle….there’s one man who wears gloves and that’s the “wicket keeper” he’s the man directly behind the wickets (sticks). But to understand them catches you just watched you have to understand bowling, there’s 2 main types of bowlers…spin and fast bowlers. If I was you I’d go onto bowlers and then batsmen after that.
Let your very unconvinced brother, the ball is a shit load harder than a baseball, except for the keeper no effing gloves, only girls, no offence, need gloves!!

Odi cricket - one day
T20 cricket - 3 hours
If you're looking for videos of the world's greatest batsmen, check out Brian Lara who played for the West Indies and Sachin Tendulkar who played for India. They're in the Top 5 greatest batsmen of all time.
For bowlers (pitchers) Curtly Amrose (West Indies) Waqar Younis (Pakistan) and Dale Steyn (South Africa) are my personal faves.
Greatest fielder of all time, Jonty Rhodes (South Africa). No question. You guys HAVE to check him out.
No way in Hell u didn't say VIV Richards name in best cricketer of All time..He is in the top 5 of everyone and Of course All format Goat Virat Kohli....There is no list of Batsman completed Without Virat Kohli and in Best fielders u gotta mention Abd and Jaddu.
would be interested to hear your top 5 batsmen if they both made it. The Greatest Batsman I have ever seen was robbbed of Test Cricket thanks to South Africans ban form sport, Barry Richards should be top 3 in anyones list.
@@willrichardson1809The problem with Barry Richards is that there just isn't much footage of him playing. Agreed, his career was certainly cut short due to Apartheid. I did see him play state cricket in Australia for South Australia.
@@utha2665 yes Test cricket was cut short only 4 tests, with two 100's and 2 50's. In the Kerry Packer World Series he topped the averges by a long way on 79, 24 better than the Great IVA Richards. I saw them both in English country Cricket Barry topped IVA for me and that says something, sadly I only saw IVA play Test so con't compare. Basically I feel privaliged to have seen them both and Barry Richards impressed me the most, he is top 5 without question and most of the pros who played with or against him would say the same.
@@willrichardson1809 I'm not doubting that at all, unfortunately we can only speculate. I'm surprised he didn't try and emigrate like Tony Grieg or Keppler Wessels did, imagine if he had moved to England or Australia, what impact he may have had?
South Africa the Proteas dy are good but normally choke in da world cup cricket 🏏 ....we had players like Johnty Rhodes best catcher
All these catches are best but Ab devilliers rcb catch was an legendry superman catch💖📢
4:46 the man who caught the catch is the best player in the world
And to put it in perspective, cricket balls are heavier, smaller and harder than baseballs.
Can't be greatest catchers without Mark Waugh or Ricky Pointing being in the list - they were possibly the two greatest fielders ever.
The players in maroon are the "Windies" (West Indies).
Test Matches, in other words country vs country in traditional cricket, last 5 days and many end in a draw!
Catch No 15 & 1 ' Sir Jadeja ' of india one of the best all rounder in the world cricket.
3:32 That stadium is empty due to COVID regulations.
Hershelle Gibbs, Hassim Amla, Jaques Kallis, A. B. DE VILLIERS Ms Dhoni, Brain Lara...
Best cricket player...VIRAT KOHLI
2nd Most WATCHED Sport on Earth! USA are Laggin......
There is a video that tells you how cricket is played. Watch it. Cricket is a great game.
Up until the late 1970s, cricketers didn't wear helmets at all!!
Shane Warne was pretty good.

Watch the video ' Cricket for baseball fans'. It is the best video to learn about cricket
Sadly these are not the greatest catches by any stretch. Maybe one or two of them would be in the top 100. That's about it.
Ben Laughlin's was the best of the lot
Let your very unconvinced brother, the ball is a shit load harder than a baseball, except for the keeper no effing gloves, only girls, no offence, need gloves!!
Bro believe me they are one of the best catches but not the best catches
Honestly most the catches in this video won't even make the top 1000 catches in cricket. Looks like the uploader put together whatever decent catches videos he could find.
The greatest catcher is non other than Johnty Rhodes from South Africa
You should check out cricket catches in real time.... replays and slow motion doesnt do it any justice. From the bowler to the catchers hand is over in the blink of an eye
React to Lasith Malinga
Chris Gayle is most definitely one of the cricketers you should react to he hits the ball out of the stadium 😂🔥💯
it is very easy to see play with some one who know cricket good im sure you will be thinking how is this hard and watching is very easy😢😮
Is the guy on right side with cap is alive or dead ?
Just confirming because I didn't seen any reaction from him. Guys if you are not interested in these type of videos then it would be better to not react.
We definitely in to it family we still trying to understand thank you for the comment
Ravindra jadeja 🔥 is the Best ever Fielder in this world 🌎
DUNSON FAMILY, YOU GUYS ARE ENJOYING GETTING EXPOSED TO EUROPEAN SPORTS!
Appreciate family
not the best collection of catches but it was good
Check out Ab de villiers goat of cricket
Whoever made the catch video, completely wrong. None of those catches would ever ever feature in a real unbiased top 20, maybe one or two, if any, and that too towards the later teens
Y’all gonna take some time to understand the beauty of cricket.
In the meantime, react to some Australian football. Most exciting sport in the world, AFL playoffs in September 🔥
A cricket ball is 3 times harder than a base ball
King 👑 Babar from Pakistan 🇵🇰 is the best Batsman in the World Right now
