Wow! Thanks for taking us along on your Mt. Garfield adventure! Beautiful view from the summit! That was pretty cool you had the summit all to yourself! 👍
Very cool! I might be heading back to CO for some adventures, so I'm going through your channel again to get ideas, LOL. Plan on visiting Colorado National Monument, this would be a nice hike along the way! Thanks for sharing.
I have passed that way many times, and only seen the cliffs from I 70. I think that there is a group that take a new flag up each year. This is the dry west side of Colorado. Thank you for taking me up.
Its soooo dry out there. I drank more water the next day on a hike than I have ever drank before. I took 130 ounces, filled my bottle up twice along the way and still ended the hike feeling like a raisin. And it wasnt even hot! Thats some tough hiking out there. But I love it! Cool to know about the flag too. Thanks for watching, Mary!
I totally thought you were showing a Utah vlog when I first saw the thumbnail. I scrolled down an I was surprised it was Colorado. Totally doesn't look like Colorado the landscaping is crazy! The view was spectacular at the top though!
Good grief that was intense. Kept thinking of the possibility of running into a rattlesnake up there. On the way down you came across that huge rock in the middle of the trail and I was wondering now what do you do. Really cool to see a different part of Colorado
Wow.. a little sketchy.. those trails were narrow and a lot of "drop-offs". It looked like slick, sandy ground.. You should hear us saying; "Don't go there, Nick". when you get too close to the edge.. And all these lizards, we were saying that it wouldn't be just a few more minutes and you'd be filming a rattle snake. When the video first started out, I thought you were still in Utah by the landscape of it. Well, I am glad you enjoyed it. Thank you always for sharing! Your #1 fans from Tennessee, T & S
Thanks Silke! I did another short road trip. Wasn't really sure of the plan. I was thinking about going all the way out to Moab again, but saw this hike on the way and decided to do it. Then did a killer the next day near Fuita. That video is coming next!
It was pretty fun going up and down that part but I think going up the 1st ridge was worse. That one seemed a little narrower with bigger drop offs and the wind was whipping harder at the beginning of the hike. I think coming down the 2nd ridge with the rock was a little wider and it wasnt as bad.
Have you climbed all "fourteeners" in Colorado? Are there 54 mountains at that height? Years ago I learned that one person scaled all 54 in 19 days. What is the record now?
Ive done a few of the 14ers but not nearly all of them. They are so crowded they arent that high up on my priority list. I think someone just broke the speed record in recent years but I forgot what it was. I want to say like 8 days or something crazy, but he wasnt even summiting all of the 14ers. He had to hit a certain mark to consider it 'climbed'. Don't quote me on any of this..
Nick, you might be missing a part of your brain called the amygdala. Among other things it processes fear, and since you have none it's either missing or inoperative. However no need to consult a doctor, just please continue to scare the pants off those of us who find your videos compelling, beautifully filmed and evocatively scored.

11:38 I love that juxtaposition of where the natural desert still exists on one side of the road and the artificial town on the other
Beautiful hike, the winds in Colorado are insane, great job out there 👍

That was a little on the wild side Nick!!! I was like oh heck no!!! Where in the world did that gigantic rock come from? Great video!! ❤

@@nicksangetta8874 Awesome. Can't wait to see it!
@18:50 That double falloff - that had to be more incredible in personal than on camera. Was it freakier going up or down that stretch?

Kind of like Grand Junction’s version of the Incline trail
good call; i've never gotten bad advice at a QDoba
😂

Forget the snakes and ticks, watch out for the ledges! I think I need a high blood pressure pill.
That didn't look bad unless an evil sorceress is turning people into lizards

Interstate 70?
Yep. I-70 east of Grand Junction.
See any snakes?
No snakes
That's an awful low mountain
