I am in fundamentals right now in my nursing program and we just started talking about fluids and electrolytes yesterday. Our exam is Monday and I had my first breakdown yesterday when I was looking over everything that you have to know when it comes to this. I've said that to say, thank you for making this video. I am a visual learner and this really helped me get the basic concept of it. I have subscribed and I look forward to seeing what other videos you have and that are to come! Thank you so much and God bless!
I am in my second semester of nursing school and we are covering F + E's right now and this video was extremely helpful and super simple to understand! Thank you! :)
Great video! As a new nursing student and current Paramedic I appreciate your flow and knowledge. I look for people that can put knowledge into simple terms and examples. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks so much for this and for the quick and speedy review. I can only take in so much info before I start to get overloaded. Appreciate the little pep talk at the end too... Sometimes I need to hear that for real!
I just recently discovered you and I wish I would have a lot sooner. I love the way you break it down, very straight to point and whats most important you give the need to know and and some Patho all in short video. You are now my new mentor lol
+Nurse Bass very true but I'm at my last end to pass med surg 1 this next exam I need score really high and I'm dying on dosage.... I hate IV drip factors and pump meds dreadfully lol. so now I'll be stalking your page trying see... I've spent so much on stuff thinking would help and so far not so much ugh.
+Nurse Bass going check it on.... I'm so yes D x gtt/min than divide by 60. ugh out hess is worth 20th % so I need score high, I. learning these other ways seem harder for
OMG I've been searching so long for your voice!!!!!! Everyone elses' voice annoys me and gives me a wave of anxiety. Thank God, someone I can finally listen to. Thank you Nurse Bass!
Its 2020 and Im just now finding this video lol.. Thank you for the break down ..I'm currently in my 2nd semester of nursing school ( Med Surg) and we're on Fluid and Electrolytes. The glass of water with the sodium was awesome .. great way to look at it.
Your rapid-fire teaching is a hoot. Get rid of that distracting tv screen to the side. Loved the glass of water deal. It is so great to have so much good material free on You Tube!
This visual aid with the cup was fantastic. You need to use this concept more oh and I love your voice. So sound and precise pronunciation just a little slower would be great. Can you please make another fluid and electrolyte video again with just a deeper and more examples? I look around but seem to keep gravitating to your videos. Thanks again
Good stuff brother. Very basic level of info. Good for the (new) nursing student..... I'm always fascinated how instruction can be so different between Nurses/providers. You have great descriptive skills - making things relatable to everyone at all levels. Strong work. I know you were pressed for time. Just curious how you chose what concepts to cover and what concepts to glaze past?
+The Change of Shift Hey man, I appreciate that buddy! I wanted to give the very basic information on the 3 compartments and what they were. I definitely wanted to touch on the Third Spaces because it's extremely important in regards to those pressures and how it ties in various other organ systems. I didn't want to spend any time on electrolytes because they can get so in-depth, and it isn't very heavily tested upon. But I most definitely wanted to give a visual example of how to conceptualize fluid and electrolytes.
Awesome! Thank you so much for the information. I would love a more detailed fluid and electrolyte video. I don’t know if you ever thought about creating one. This one was a super helpful video for me. I’m in nursing school now and this is one concept I have a difficult time with.
hey nurse bass just wanted to say I'm in nursing school also right now at the same level you are, 4th semester, your videos helped me out a lot. Keep putting out the good content bro, I'm considering making my own channel also. 😆
Thanks for the review and excellent video as always dude!!! This was one of the topics I was really interested in physiology. Love these videos you explain everything so well!!!
Hi Mr Bass I just discovered ur video about electrolytes, I’m a senior over 65 n had been on HBP meds 4-6 different meds about 15 yrs or so To understand electrolytes can be helpful w HBP people coz these generic meds the most common side effect is fluid retention, I really like the glass of water demo I got really interested coz of the homeostasis imbalance n wonder if u can elaborate on that would appreciate very much u should be a Dr n help ppls w HBP all these Rds do is prescribe med no explanation about these it could well be one of the causes of HBP n of course other stuff too thx 👍
Nurse Bass hmm I have severe gout and suspect it may be related to unbalanced homeostasis in my body.. question is, what would be the ideal way to repair this homeostasis. I doubt I need more sodium, calcium or water. so im thinking magnesium/potassium. what are your thoughts?
+Paul Anthony “Panoy” Cordova Yea, that is something that I would really love to do. I have done this in the past with other educational videos, but it's very time consuming. Once I graduate though, and have additional free time, that is something that I will definitely consider doing for sure.
great video! Next time it would be great if you could be more detailed in describing the types (i.e., NS, 1/2NS, D5, etc) of fluid that correct basic imbalances. Great job though!
Hello there, I just started a channel translating commonly used phrases by nurses into Spanish. Let me know if you guys want any specific phrases translated. Thanks!
