    Hi, I’ve been following your study sessions for the past week. They’re indeed very helpful for a student like me.
    I wanted to ask you if you could cover word problems or how to break down certain word problems. I struggle with word problems questions on the SAT and it would mean the world if you could do a piece on that. Thank you.

    • @JohnSAT
      @JohnSAT  5 лет назад +22

      Absolutely, for the word problems, it's all about converting words into numbers&equations. I will add it to the list and have it up by next week! keep grinding

      I'm not John Lung, but the way I would solve that is by turning the 6^3 into 6*6*6
      That way, the new equation is (6/2) + (6*6*6/2) which is the same as (6/2) + (216/2)
      Then you would just add 6 and 216 which equals 222, and divide that by 2, so 222/2 or 111.

    at 11:00 how did you know to do the last step making it 2(cuberoot(2)) ? I'm confused

    • @JohnSAT
      @JohnSAT  3 года назад +2

      In order to exit the cube root, the cube root requires inside of the radical to have THREE of the same number.
      cube root (16) = cube root (2x2x2x2) = since there's four 2's, a set of "three 2's' can exit as a single 2.
      resulting in 2 cube root (2)

    • @poopilydoopily7784

      16 is 2⁴, and since we were doing a *cubic* root he took out *three* of the twos (out of 2x2x2x2) and put 1 two on the outside of the radical to represent them, then he left the last remaining two on the inside of it

    • @JohnSAT
      @JohnSAT  5 месяцев назад

      cube root requires THREE OF THE SAME NUMBER to exit the cube root.
      Because 16 = four 2's, you use up three '2's to exit and one '2' remains inside the root.
