“In a daring suicide mission”, I know this is game but imagine how selfless and courageous the men were to dock on an alien mother ship, which is terrifying itself, then proceed to blow the ship to kingdom come in the outer space. Some heavy balls were involved.
It just took all 1rst and 3rd person shooter protagonists and some others. Sorry for forgetting the names.
Fun fact, members of the UT99 team Dark Phalanx were part of the team of commandos that carried out the assault, Farham and Gorn.
The human didn't actually shoot and destroy the core. The core room floor simply couldn't sustain the weight of the balls of all the heros standing together and buckled.
they would be unforgettable heroes. but i wasn't sure if it was literally a suicide mission. at the end you can see them fly out as victors, but realistically there probably wouldn't be time to escape, they would have taken terrible losses just forcing their way to the core, and the few survivors at the end probably would stay and fight to the death to ensure the core goes down. for them to pull this whole thing off, and walk away from it, is just too lucky

Graphics. effects and physics of this game are not equivalent to 2004....... unreal engine 2 was a freaking powerful engine...
Honestly, this game still looks good by today's standards

They still are. you just have to keep playing them, regardless of how many people are still playing it.
I remember dying so many times in this mission when i was a kid
It's because bots always shoot at player first, and space fight is the most crappiest i ever played. even Spore space battle is better and that was awful.
Forgotten mode. No other game implemented it to this degree. Wish we had a progression of objectives like this nowadays, some on vehicles, some on foot, some enabling special weapons. Imagine if Battlefield had a mode like this. Unlike that sorry ass Rush and Assault mode they had.
I say and repeat to exhaustion, _this mode alone_ would have saved Overwatch from the oblivion it's condemned to now.
I would've paid cold hard cash for something like that
One of the best games ever made, imho.
Whatever good one can find to say about this game, is just not enough. Gold; will hold a special place in my heart. Top memories.

I can't believe how the earlier version, GOTY Edition, destroyed even the later games. They couldn't even hold a candle to the original game.
Except in Assault mode. Assault in 2K4 was a lot better.
