      Censorship on information suppression watch the cases will magically go away, no more record breakers with cases. They will all start too go down now that the white house controls hospital information no longer going threw the CDC this is a criminal offense lying too the American people hiding, withholding data, deception tactics at it's finest.

    Thank you for doing this, I appreciate how respectful Dr. Bachner is to his guests. It's clear our public health specialists are dog-tired. My heart goes out to them. And I want to thank all workers in and servicing the health care industry for their service during this difficult time.
    I would like to see a discussion about prevention. In addition to wearing masks and physical distancing, how do we improve our immunity to ward this off and fight it if we do become infected.

    Contact tracing is pointless if the original covid19 patient doesn't get confirmation of the diagnosis quickly. A week or two is too late to get a confirmation is too late to notify contacts.

    • @notsogreen

      When a person has COVID-19 they know it if symptomatic; so no need to wait too long for results. They can still contact trace. Symptoms may be more revealing than a swab that sometimes never come up positive even if hospitalization is needed.

    Well, the good news is Dr. Redfield didn't really deflect. The bad news is he didn't have to because not only were all the questions "softball" questions, there were very few of them and pretty well none that weren't of the variety "tell us what you think...".
    This is why the US is in the state they are and will continue to be.

      M L Unfortunately the new CDC guidelines on school reopenings are not actual guidelines but an obvious and successful political twisting of arms that will set trust in public health officials back many decades. One more notch on the political "right's" belt putting Science in it's place. Bad Science, bad! Now sit in the corner while the moneychangers and the preachers let everyone know what to do and how to do it.

    • @ML-by9co
      @ML-by9co 4 года назад

      @@stupidas9466 what are you talking about??! The guidance.... are the key safety measures for the public so schools and other places etc could reopen as they put these guidelines into practice

    • @stupidas9466
      @stupidas9466 4 года назад +1

      M L No, the old guidelines were. The new ones read like "well, if you feel like it you might do something along the lines of this if you can, you know, if it isn't too expensive..." The CDC or FDA in the past have done investigations and made recommendations and given orders that were clear, succinct, unambiguous, and told the recipient what they had to do in order to meet their guidelines. The investigations into the outbreaks in the meat plants were watered down fluff due to political pressure, as so are the new school opening guidelines. When science and politics mix you get politics. The cdc/fda etc used to stand up to or be unaffected by political pressure, but now they have acquiesced to the whims of the executive branch and their reputation is sullied around the world.

    There are really so many points of contention with this interview, and with the references cited that I do not even have time to list them all. It's time we stop allowing government to make half baked policy based on panic and Bad Science. Americans, be courteous and practice good hygiene, and by all means tell these jokers they're fired.

  • @shoot4education

    Redfield has come out with full support for opening schools, which is tantamount to saying, let this thing spread as far as it possibly can. I think Mr. Bauchner needs to respond to the immense political pressure that Redfield is under to make such a preposterous and dangerous statement. Especially after this interview, where it's clear that school should likely remain remote until people take the issue of masking and distancing far more seriously.

      I'm not a trump fan, but legally under US-18-241 and US-18-242 , theres really not much more he could do... and under federal law he cant tell states what to do either, even under Fema , which nobody understands either but once fema is activated the president doesn't have any power but to de activate it, which under crisis can be contested ....and if Biden or any Democrat party mandates masks its actually completely illegal under those two statutes, so without breaking our rights as citizens what else could have trump done?

    I saw an interesting piece on covid19 showing up in sewage treatment plants. Seems like a good way to get early & non-invasive surveillance on asymptomatic hotspots in order to focus limited testing & tracing resources. Yet I have seen no indication that any organization or govt entity is pursuing this avenue. Couldn't you two high profile doctors push this idea into the right hands? It would be a win-win, since it would be much quicker while sidestepping the public's loss-of-privacy fears.

      @Julie Reid I understand your thoughts on this - not that a high dose of dexa, hidroxichloroquine or ivermectin sounds more reasonable--but it's what I got on three cases that made 180 degree change on their clinical course in 24 h, and these were high risk patients. One thing though if you look up the standard treatment in China, South Korea or Taiwan for severe cases, you will see that all the ingredients of Dristan are included in their approach, so your comment is actually quite correct

      The blood is "plasmapheresed" - plasma removed (this is the antibody-rich part of the blood) and the red blood cells are returned. It's been done for decades.This is the immune globulin (IgG) treatment that is being used for the very sickest patients.

    I think it may have been the sandstorm off north Africa witch moved all over the US . The reason I think that is because when I was a environmental activist in the early 80's we would map pollution with influenza data. (The virus hitchhiked on particulates .)

My notion that COVID-19 might travel in way is a long shot at best . COVID-19 might very well be too large and sand that is light enough to travel so far may not pick up the virus . The mapping was done by peers researching with microfilm all over the US. I'll look through my old papers and try finding more.
