You're absolutely correct that the Freedom Bus has an advantage. Watch your video and you'll see that the hook hight matters. The bus' rear tires are being compressed when you pull giving the bus a higher traction breaking point. Dude, you and your crew rock and I'd love to hang out at your shop some time.

Munster Max was shipped to a shop already to be rebuilt. But that would have been cool.
The bus has a massive advantage with that hitch mounted several feet higher than all of the other vehicles. If it takes off first, it lifts the rear of the other vehicle reducing their traction, if it waits then the other vehicle forces the bus to squat in the rear increasing its weight and putting all of that torque to the ground.
Also, you mentioned when you first got the Yankum Rope that you were going to break it...well, from what I understand of the correct way to use this rope, this tug of war is certainly likely to do just that. The ropes are not designed to be used under sustained load, rather they are to be utilized for shock loading, and must be allowed a "cool down" period after several attempts to move a vehicle in order not to damage their kinetic properties due to the heat buildup.

Nope! At the end of the video, they redid a fight without this "advantage" and the bus won easily anyway.. 🤗
@@yvescolin6169 he would have won but it would be a easy win, especially if you load the 5 ton with max load, that would be the fair battle since the bus weighs a lot more and the truck can carry a lot of weight to compensate.

I was really thinking the 5 ton would've done better. That monster bus is insane
The monster bus had the advantage as in where the rope hooked on it was higher than the on the 5 ton and that gave the bus a vertical advantage. If you watch the video you will see the 5-ton start to pull the bus until the higher bus made the 5ton bounce and that made it able to win.

Yup that was all about the kinetic energy yanking the weight off that 5 ton even out the pulling ends and it would of been a different store

I love this competition. But the freedom bus there are no words to describe it. That is one serious piece of machinery.
Can't wait to see the HET. One of those big ol Oshkosh trucks saved me from a court-martial after a Bradley rolled down to the bottom of a ravine. Also taught me a valuable lesson, never assume the ground is too rough for the vehicle to roll away, ALWAYS chock the tracks/wheels.

Weight in the bed and tires aired down. Since the buses back tires arent fully inflated they fold a bit when skinny pedal.is apllied

The bus hitch is so high it picks up the back of the other vehicles so they loose traction
they moved the rope down to the axle on the bus and it still beat the 5 ton.

I so love Hercules!!! I grew up in northwest Montana where the clay mud will swallow a truck whole. The 5 ton is a dream truck of mine. I got to drive a converted M44 water tanker on a fire department and it was my absolute favorite vehicle to drive that I've yet driven. Even more fun than a 3000 gallon Kenworth tanker we had too. That beast was fun: T800 with a Detroit backed by an 10 speed Eaton. Get her ripping down the road with the turbos screaming over the sirens pushing over 30 psi of boost. So much fun!!! I loved it and miss it.
Again very awesome but like heavy said the bus is quite high and lifts the opponent up, not to take away from the buses awesomeness

The reason the freedom bus has two major advantages is because of its center of mass. When pulling, its pulling power is away from the surface. When others are pulling against it, they’re essentially trying to pull it away and toward the ground, making it even harder.
