My x-father-in-law was from korea and I REALLY got addicted to the food! I am beyond happy I found you on YT! I actually prefer your recipes over his cooking!!! You are awesome!!!
That has gotta be the best damn potato salad sammich ive seen in my life! So perfectly symmetrical and nice to look at! Its a shame it had to be eaten to destroy the art work! I mean im glad you ate it but there shoulda been a gold metal awared for that sammich! My potato salad and potato salad sammiches standards just shot up greatly after seeing that masterpiece! I been missing out! I honestly wont be able to look or want a "regular" potato salad or potato salad sammich the same again! And this is something that i cant mess up on lol. But ya your show has always helped me become a better "chef". ( im not really a chef but you know what i mean). I really learned how to do so much more with cooking and food not just on the Korean side of things but also even easy basic things that i may have never thought of or learned somewhere else . I Hope you keep this going for as long as possible and as long as it makes you happy and your family as well! 🇰🇷🌶️🔥
👍. I actually put a few pieces of the Italian peperoncini when I eat it as a sandwich😋. U can see the pepperoni in the background of the cut sandwiches. So good together. Or a small piece of Romain lettuce is also great, too! !
Of course! I can’t imagine that everyone likes all the foods I make, as there r certain kinds of foods I do not like as well. But judging by the title of the recipe, I assume that the viewers will pick or avoid recipes according to their preferences.
I mean, most of us don’t have scales to weigh in our little cucumber and our little carrots. Most of us don’t have steamers maybe a nice simple recipe is ideal for most people but then again, I guess I’m not most people.
Hi @arizona7058 👋. I provide the scaled scenes for those who prefer exact measurements. And I also show how many potatoes I’m using for those who don’t need scales measurements. The same for the cucumber and carrots. The visual footages demonstrate how much I’m using. As for the steamer basket (it is $5 to $7). If not, u can just boil the potatoes chunks until a chopstick goes through it easily. Obviously, my channel is not ur cup-of-tea, which is 💯 fine. Thanks for visiting my channel🙏
Mashed potato is served hot, and mushy consistency, not as thick as this potato salad. Like traditional American potato salad, this Korean potato salad uses cooked potato and mayo, served at room temperature or chilled.
@@KologaFaikala-iz7rp As mentioned, this is Korean style potato salad that is different from the traditional American potato salad. American potato salads are sliced or cubed. Korean version is mashed. The Germans make their own version of potato salad that is different from the American version. Again, Mashed Potato is served HOT, and does not use mayonnaise. Mashed Potato is not a salad. It is a hot potato side dish that is served with gravy. But u r 💯 entitled to ur opinion. Obviously my channel is not ur cup-of-tea which is 💯 fine. Thanks for visiting my channel.
@@KologaFaikala-iz7rp I understand that u feel strongly about this. My channel is Korean recipes and I share recipes that Koreans eat, both authentic/traditional and fusion. This potato salad is literally called Potato Salad (translated in Korean 감자 샐러드). This potato salad is also popular in Japan. Perhaps, the difference of opinion is based on ur view of what a potato salad is vs Mashed potatoes. I’m guessing that u want to define ur definition based on ur ‘American’ views only, and therefore other cultural aspects have no regard. U have every right to ur opinion. I, too, have the right to hold my position that Mashed Potato is served HOT with gravy and does not include mayonnaise as a must ingredient. The fact is that this dish is called Potato Salad in Korea. So please be respectful of our Korean culture and cuisines. FYI - I’m a Korean American that grew up in NYC metro, with enjoying many many variations of ‘American Potato Salads,” from local diners, Jewish deli, Italian deli, and more, as well as having many HOT mashed potato variations as well. Let’s agree to disagree: You say POTATO (‘Mashed Potato’) and I say POTATOOOE (‘Potato Salad’).
I tripped and fell into this channel. I'm new here. You almost got me there until you started in with the vegan stuff. Also you must buy your salt on pallets. You are going to have some serious high blood pressure. I'm also somewhat concerned, in older videos you reference using pots that are large enough to bathe/(cook) kids.... ? This is some interesting passive-aggressive, saying the quiet part out loud (joke)?. It's always hard for the viewer to really know considering all of the horrible stories that pop up from the bad actors. They would use/abuse their kids behind the camera. I'm sure that's not you and I'm overthinking things. On the other hand who knows. On a different topic, I think you're possibly the wrong host for your channel. I may be wrong but the blueprint seems to be you get a sweet OLD Korean woman who enjoys cooking and is good on camera. Another RUclipsr has over 6 million subs but their channel has been around for a lot longer than yours and may target a slightly older audience than yours. They don't have to pump out nearly as many videos as you either. This is not to say you're doing a bad job. I think your channel could just grow 10X faster. It's something to think about.

Aww 🥰 Thank you 🙏
I love Korean potato salad! It used to come as a standard s8de dish at Korean restaurants before covid.
Yes, luv Korean restaurant side dishes! so good as a side dish with some warm Korean rice and kimchi, too😋
oh i haven't had that for a while now. I like that salad!

Thanks Chef Mike 😉
I looooove ❤this potato salad. Can you make kelp noodle side dishes too?
Thanks 🙏 I’m not sure what u mean by ‘kelp noodle’ side dish. Do u mean sea kelp that is served in shredded strings?
I would be a rebel and add dill pickle
👍. I have dill pickle on the side along with Italian peperoncino. Also adding Romain lettuce to the sandwich is great, too
Love to try this in a sandwich with Italian Giardiniera to give it a twist

Tators and lettuce 😢
