BTC, PTC, HTC, MTC- are going to get the electric buses. VTC is gonna be trolley only. STC- CNG. Not sure about RTC. I heard it’s gonna be shut down- that’s why MTC is being built. I heard: RTC is on leased land. VTC diesel yard is on leased land. BTC is also on leased land.
IIRC that bus was stuck kneeled inside VTC for a couple months. The first day it came out for a trial run on route 41, the back doors broke (I rode it). Safe to say, there won't be any orders from BYD anytime soon. The support network I find is lackluster and quality control is subpar.
Adding on displaced buses, Juan, do you think it's wise to swap out the 13 articulated rapid-buses that are serving R3 to Surrey, with 13 short 40ft buses (181XX, reskinned to the rapidbus paint?) from Surrey? Especially to accommodate the upcoming R6?
If you're talking about R1, hard pass. -TransLink may be inconsistent at times, but they are really pushing for RB branding to be consistent - real time information, policy headways, and articulated buses. -I find R1 loads are concentrated south of King George especially on weekdays. Besides. They already removed 640, 310, 394, and 340 in past years. D40LFR are due for replacement and as far as I'm aware there are 15 new articulated buses ordered for the R6.
Caught word of that recently! Waiting for more instances though, or if there will be an instance of a full-day run Perhaps the other 4 units may appear, who knows
Update (Feb 2, 2023): The FIRST of the slow-charge NovaBus LFSe+ units entered service today! See the latest video for more info!

Do you think it's likely that they will still acquire some of the BYD they trialed a few years back?

I couldn't imagine a single car RapidBus...
it cheapens the brand
