Hello Mel.
Downloaded the app. Brilliant shout out mate.
The UK is our oyster ;-)
Thanks Mel. On P4N when in the details of the parkup, I could never find our how to find the map to the place!...Now with your kind help, I have to back up to the listing and I found the map link there. P4N could do to improve this...Cheers mate! From Varna in Bulgaria. Tony and Carolyn. We are Wheely Living 😊😊

Van Life With Betty Boondocker brilliant have a good time glad you like the app and found it useful I had a feeling it wasn’t that well known so just wanted to show how I use it 🤓🤙
It's a great app Mal I use it all the time and it's been an absolute godsend as I'm a full-time band well in Cornwall
thats kiln park tenby been here there,s a sandy path right into town...just started my camper build ....just got the app great tip

Mel over in Morroco 💥🌴😎not in van yet,but plenty of vans, it's brilliant 😃
Love this app Mel , very useful thanks for sharing this Mel 👍
John Healy you’re most welcome I’m glad someone found it useful 🤓🤙
Saw that lullingstone park up a couple of weeks ago when visiting the roman villa (summer 2022) . It is down a lane going to the villa and you just keep going. There is a car park nearby that is a pay car park but they shut at night. This park up is for people visiting the castle(says so on a sign) so it would seem fine to stay there and actually visit the castle thus supporting the historic building . It is a brilliant app.
Thank you for taking the time to comment really appreciate your encouragement 👍🤓👍
Great little App, been using it for a while in Europe. Really handy for when you're on the road.
campervan dog Europe is definitely where it comes into play I think I was in Slovenia when I came across it 🤓🤙
that carpark is only a 5 min walk to the center of Tenby and beaches. Pop into the woodshop and say hello, I would like to thank you for vids and info, I'm half way through my own conversion and you've been a great help.
Oh mate you’re welcome unfortunately I’m about 5 hours away now good luck with your build 🤙🤓🍻
Thanks for the heads up on this app Mel , As i'm based on the far north coast of Scotland there is very few parking spots i don't know of but when ever i head south into unknown territories ( south of Inverness ) it's always hit and miss finding parking ( Mainly misses )
Andrew Peel glad I could help thanks for watching stay safe and good luck 🤓🤙
I recognize some of those Kent roads. Lovely county!

In-the-van Peter thank you yes it is great if you use it with google earth like I do it saves any unexpected surprises😂thanks for watching 🤓🤙
I parked in Belgium did a late ferry, great spot until the Eurostar train thundered past 15 feet away. My bed became very messy frightened the life out of me. I will now google earth it.

Hello again Mel. Still a great app 😊
Kat cankan thank you I would be lost without it 😂🤓🤙
@@BigVanSmallWorld lndeed 😊
hi mel, always enjoy watching your videos, just downloaded this app but can’t get streetview
do you have to register.
Derek Neale thanks for the complement.
I think it’s best to register you need to install google maps to your device too 🤓🤙
Seen a few of these, sometimes think to take these as a general guide but use google earth street view to find the odd places that might be available. I wouldn't stay anywhere more than one night.
fly bobbie I couldn’t agree more that’s all it is a guide but what a great one makes things so much better now 🤓🤙
Hi, thank you for your helpful video! Is there a way to eliminate or rule out places that you don't like, so they don't come up in your future searches?
Unfortunately I really don’t think there is a way to do that
Many thanks for very informative and interesting videos. I'm thinking of converting a van and want the three "K's" Kip, Kharzi and Kitchen! I have an "L" shaped drive (we all have our problems) so my choice of van can be no longer than 4 metres! If it's longer it will block my car in that I want to keep! 4 meters length rules out the majority of vans except small ones so it will have to be a micro camper! Was thinking of something like a Peugeot Bipper, Being tight fisted ( I take big steps to save shoe leather) the road tax is only £30 and apparently it does around 60 mpg (heard that one before). I'm 5'-7" and worked out I could just squeeze in. Everyone I've spoken to has said it's not worth buying a small van as it's too cramped, especially with our "Wonderful" English weather! At the moment I'm doing my homework, so to speak. Before someone suggests buying a caravan, no I don't want to tow a caravan. I wonder if it's worth converting a small van, in view of what people have said?
Eric Von Essex hay thanks for the positive feedback really appreciated.
All I can say is find one that’s for sale and go have a good look at it test drive it lay in the back if you have to but most importantly don’t take any notice of negativity and build your van the way you want it not how others think it should be it’s your van and you know what you want from it 🤓🤙
@@BigVanSmallWorld Fantastic advice, many thanks. You have given me the confidence to go ahead. Most new things are trial and error. My plan is to not be too adventurous initially and stay in the UK. Further ahead I would like to drive south for the winter in Europe and miss the worst of winter in Britain. Here in the South (I'm in Hertfordshire, gateway to the east - exotic places such as Harlow and Southend) winter isn't bad, but it's the overcast weather I can't stand! Thanks again.
Eric Von Essex Oh I feel your pain I used to go to Oz for winter 6 months in uk 6 months Oz eternal summer
I hate winter now I work all winter and have summers off A bit like a squirrel but other way round glad I could help you 🤓🤙
Yes very nice. Looking at the map it gives you the same information as a good road atlas such as my AA one does! People need to stop relying so much on all this technology. Learn how to read a map instead. Then there will be less vehicles congesting smaller roads.
I think camper vans are going to boom over the next year
I've downloaded the app and it's great but I've not done the Google earth bit or the map features which I will try out I tend to put in the area near me part of it etc but it's a great app
numberplate guy I would be lost without it 😂🤓🤙
Hi Mel. AWESOME find buddy, thanks for sharing.
Ive just downloaded and was wondering if its been updated since this video?? Its still great but I cant seem to be able to drop a pin and view street map??? Any ideas where Im going wrong. ??
Thnx again budd.
Thank you for the positive feedback . Not all google maps are covered by street view unfortunately. It if it is as soon as you drop a pin you should see a small preview bottom left side of your screen tap on this and it will open street view 👍🤓
Cheers Mel, your a Gent.
Not sure if its because Im using an android phone ( im no techie)??? But i sort of got there in the end. It definitely different to yours tho ( your vid shows your is a lot easier). I need to play with it a little more.
Thanks again buddy. 👍👍
You’re absolutely welcome glad you managed to figure it out in the end it’s a great app 👍🤓
Hello! Long time no see! 😁 It's obviously too warm in your van cos you've got your hat off again, lol.
Holistic-Healing UK hello 👋 yes lovely and toasty warm 🤓🤙
@@BigVanSmallWorld Nice. Well Jell.My heater aint working 😢
Holistic-Healing UK oh no what one you got ??
@@BigVanSmallWorld I think it's actually extinct now. lol. It's a Propex Heatsource 1600. It was working but now it's not. I get a red light which blinks twice which according to the website, is to do with it not getting enough gas. I got half a cylinder though so it's not that there isn't enough. I'll have to have a look at some point after I've finished mi cladding. Oh cladding, what a joy that is...😭. I hate the carpet up the walls/on ceiling look but I can now understand why people do it!! Lol
Holistic-Healing UK don’t right it off try changing the regulator on the bottle first.
Love cladding it’s worth the trouble hang in there kid 🤓🤙
Heya 👋🏽🇦🇺. I actually downloaded the app but the only one within 100k of me was a car park and I know it’s illegal to stay overnight there😂. Well that’s all from me. 😂. Catcha in yours or mine next time 😂😂🇦🇺👋🏽
NutterbagsAUS G’Day my precious don’t worry about it not being allowed that’s the whole point of stealth camper nobody knows ya in there 😂🤓🤙🇬🇧❤️🇦🇺
Mel’s World 😋😂
It’s even available here in Switzerland
Brilliant 👍
Hi mel do you know how to add a site or comment on the app?
Charlotte Craig you just need to register with the app it’s still free plus you can save your favourite places 🤓🤙
App downloaded. Merci 😊 Oh..doesn't appear to be working. I'm getting where I am when i click on the map but there aren't any park ups showing up... 😕
Holistic-Healing UK play around with it I’m sure you will figure it out 🤓🤙
Very useful for many people I am sure, but I think there's a great danger that the widespread use of social media and such apps will unintentionally make free, discrete and untroubled over-nighting in vans increasingly problematic the more widely they are adopted. A shame as it's a great idea.
I already know of quite a few traditional stopovers which have been used for decades, (some for centuries!) now strictly forbidden after being popularised on social media.
Despite the current "van-life" trend, free-camping is seen by many as free-loading and seeing people getting something for free is often resented. Even villages where the occasional traveller stopping the night might previously have been welcomed are having to act to prevent their little car parks being turned into camp sites or even worse, into rubbish dumps.
Also what if someone plays a prank, uploading places to park that are forbidden.
Park up, take a photo of their van ( without registration in view ) with backdrop of castle or stately home, drive off and upload ).......Harry comes along after seeing free overnight parking in app, pulls up and climbs into bed to be woken by a loud knock on the door.
Even Mel said he wouldn't feel right in a couple of the places that popped up.
Someone could be trying to annoy the land owner or simply pulling a prank.
Seeing other campers or propper signs in car parks is legit though.
I have a few apps and cross reference them together.
I can see a big clampdown coming the more van life becomes popular and trendy, you only have to look what happened to Gypsies, Tinkers, Travellers and the likes.
I'll enjoy it while I can and pack it in if or when it turns sour. I don't mind short day trips anyway, I can still get a nice view, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and be toasty and warm plus be home in 15 mins 😃
pa maj ....well, I reckoned that the lot in front of Buckingham Palace was a prank?
@@remlatzargonix1329 Are you referring to LULLINGSTONE CASTLE & THE WORLD GARDEN? Maybe fine for an hour or two but I even doubt that.
Downloaded the app after watching this review but cant find the " Drive To" feature on it so can't use google maps with it :( any ideas please?
Hi I think you need to register with them it’s free and well worth the time good luck 🤓👍
Thanks I will try that :)
Interesting app for the mainstream weekend warriors, but may detract from the noble art of finding a spot, or as the Americans call it "boondocking"
Socks With Sandals I was wondering what they meant by boondocking thanks for that 🤓🤙🇬🇧
