Thank you for explaining especially about doing for a child.as I make for a children's Cancer ward here in Ireland and would love to donate some of these hats.great tutorial.💙💙
Thanks for posting. I’d bought the pattern on Etsy and was sad that it came out too small, since it was such an easy hat to make. Gonna try again with a larger hook!
i love that you do the standing double crochet in your projects, i love to do it as well instead of the chain two but, no-one else does it in their tutorials.
Thank you so much. I made the hat with the chain 1 in the increase. It worked perfectly. I used a G hook, with the Dollar Store 4 Medium Acrylic Premier Yarn. I'm left-handed and for some reason seem to crochet loose. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for this video! I took the advice you gave me in your first video and used a bigger hook (5.5mm) with bernat handicrafter cotton and it fit my big head perfectly! ✨ I also made a normal size one for my brother! Can’t wait to make more 🎉
Hiya! Passionknit kelsie sent me here! I did try it with a 5mm hook but it was wayyy to tight. I tried adding 16 double crochet but didn’t like it. Finally went a up to a 6mm hook and it fits great and a little loose how I like it! Imma try it with the 14 double crochet in the beginning with the extra single crochet in between! Thank you so much for this video!! Sorry if this doesn’t make sense I’m like brain fried from restarting, trying to make it fit right
I love your Granny Bucket Hat!💕 First I made your normal bucket hat, wich I am frogging now to work it as Granny too. But I had no problem with your tutorials to make it in the right size. Even having a thicker yarn. You explained it in inches so I could adapt easily.
I definitely want to make some of these! thank you so much for going to the trouble of making the different samples. I really appreciate all the extra information.
Thank you so much! I have tight tension so my crochet projects usually do not come out to the correct size. However, if I try to loosen my tension it feels uncomfortable. This video really helped with that.
Wish I could add a picture of my finished hats. Your pattern is so wonderful. It’s gonna be my go-to pattern. Made one with a slightly different brim and one the way you did and they both turned out great. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much for taking your time to share this information....I am a beginner.....and I am so proud of myself for making my first hat ......although it wasn't the size I wanted but it came out pretty well .....I made it with two colors ,a little touch on the brim and I crocheted a nice little flower to go with it .....and it's fits my neighbors little one so very well ❤.....I will be working on those alternatives your talked about in your video .....u have a blessed and wonderful day❤❤❤❤❤❤
My head measures 22.5" so just a little over average. Your original hat didn't fit me. So I took your advice and went up to a size I (5.5mm) hook and it now fits perfectly. A half inch and a half millimeter. Who knew it would make such a difference? Used Caron Cotton Cakes.
I’m using a 3 weight cotton with a 4.5mm hook. I’m at 4.5 inches at round 5 so does that mean I should restart and go to 14 or 16 then follow from there? Which would you recommend? I’m using K&C cotton yarn size 3. Ty!
I love the pattern tutorial. This is the only bucket hat that turned out perfect for me. How can this be expanded to a sun hat? I think that would be cute for someone with short hair. Or do you have another hat tutorial for someone with short hair?
I find where you slip stitch over I get a bump. So I have been avoiding doing that. Otherwise the pattern is ready good. I have been using it to make dorothy bags. Just using the first element of the pattern for the crown of the hat. Thank you
I used a 6.5mm hook (tight crocheter … guilty)& extra rows because my daughter has huge Cher hair. Head size is only part of it. Big thick hair is another hurdle. 😂😂😂
I've made 3 of these hats now!! Love it! Also, not related but where did you get your compression glove?? It's the perfect height on the fingers to crochet with it on!!😅
I made my hat on the large size because I wear my bra length, thick hair in a french braid, most of the time. Cotton because of static electricity with synthetic yarn.
If you do the 14 stitches start, the beginning of the brim will have granny stitch in the beginning and also another granny stitch in the end. Just a warning to everyone cuz I thought I missed a stitch but that’s just math lol.
Thank you so much!!! After having started over so many times from the first video, I declared I would just give up. After watching this video, I tried again (and again). This last time, I knew I did everything I was supposed to, but that last increase almost had me in tears. All my numbers were spot on, but I started and ended with four. I came back because she said that you missed a stitch somewhere if it didn't end in the opposite number of stitches. The math was not mathing (as they say). Now that I know I'm not crazy, I'll finish my hat. Thank you again!!!!!
Just to complicated to me. I think i made it to big. Not your fault. My kids just distract me so many times. Iam disappointed in my self right now. It was supposed to be a gift to my pastor. I made one fir his wlfe also. I hope they like them. Ugh!!!!
Thank you for updating your original pattern with sizing and color options.
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks!
Thank you! 🥰

I personally like the 2colors, it’s a nice option. PassionKnit Kelsie showed a great way to alternate color and you can’t see it.
Thanks for sharing!!

I've seen a few interesting ways to do it. Looks so much nicer than the ch 3.
Thank you
I've made two bucket hats so far with your tutorial ❤
Wonderful!
Excellent video 😊
Thank you very much!

Fantastic!
Wow you showed and explained it very well. Thanx a lot. I had to try it today and it was so easy to follow the explanations🎉
Great to hear!
I love the video and the tips but the original one fits me well
Thank you for your tutorials! I used a 6.5 hook, 15 rows and then on the brim, I just did one increase row. The 2nd increase, I did a regular row.

Great tutorial and great modification options. Thank you so much. 😊
Glad it was helpful!

Great job!
I’m going to give one a go. It will have to be acrylic though, no cotton yarn in my house 🥲
Acrylic will work just fine!
Thank you for all the tips!!!
You are so welcome!
I get solar migrains so easily and have made a few bucket hats using your tutorial. I get SO many compliments! Thank you!
Wonderful!
Awaiting aome cotton yarn. This pattern and some bandandas await hopefully this weekend ❤
Have fun!
My head must be the only part of my body that is small. This hat was large on my head and I followed it to the letter. Love the resilts
You must need a smaller hook 😂

Enjoyed making the bucket hat during your tutorial. Thank you so much. Going to go purchase your pattern now. Thank you!
Wonderful!
Great tips! I'll be making my 3 daughters a hat, I'll let you know how they fit!
Yes please! How many rounds if not the 12 before the brim.

I crochet but i could never do what you do ppl are too picky they want perfection i love your patience trying to explain i couldnt
People are too picky is the understatement of the century 😂😂

For Sun Hats check out Bag O Day crochet she has a ton of great hat tutorials.
Thanks so so much. It is beautiful wow
I’ve made two in the last two days! Got the recommendation from passionatekelsie ❤
Great explanation and tutorial. I'm going to make some. 😊
Have fun!
Thanks it came out beautifully for me.

Cher head 😂😂😂😂 love the description!

These are the gloves I use amzn.to/3xb4VrA
Making some hats for my kids and my nieces for the fourth ❤️❤️
(looks at my 24 inch head in the mirror) Yes. They do make them that big. And hats don't fit 😭😭😭 Lol! Thanks for the tutorial 🧡
I have wondered the same thing! I have a big head too!
Try starting with 14 stitches
They will stretch out too with it being cotton 😅😂
Oh yes they can get huge 🤗
@@jobox1352from beginning ?
Why I always end up in 4 inch (in row 5).I’ve tried with 14 stitches as the basic and added CH 1 on round 3. Is it bcos I use 4ply cotton yarn?
Your yarn might be too thin. Your hook might be too small. You may need to add a chain in between the clusters.
@@KnottingHookCrochet thank you! May I asked again? Is it okay if I use 6.5mm hook with a 4ply yarn?
Thanks for sharing.
You bet
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
Have you made this hat with wosted weight #4 yarn?
No but this is a 4 weight cotton. I’m sure acrylic would be just fine!
@@KnottingHookCrochet Ok😊
I made my hat on the large size because I wear my bra length, thick hair in a french braid, most of the time. Cotton because of static electricity with synthetic yarn.
Thank you
You're welcome
I went up a hook size because of the yarn I used.
my work keeps curling. any advice?
Your tension is probably too tight.
If you have tighter tension you can try using a bigger hook size.
Thank you so very much. 💖 😊 I love your videos and content.. and the yarn terrorist kitty 😂❤
Toby!! He’s still at it!

they nice can you do for man
🤗🥰🌹🌹🌹🌹💗
Why do you have to slip stitch rather than just flip it like you would a granny square?
you can flip if you want.

That is awesome!
