When I heard the chordprogression I was like: oh no not this type of tutorial again. But the final result is actually pretty good! I think I have to stop trying to make a really interesting chordprogression and start making creative melodies. Because you used simple chords but with the melody it sounds awesome.

You could learn some keys maybe. Making melodies doesn't require a lot of theory, the other stuff (mixing, mastering etc.) does though...

I'd suggest that if you want to make music like Calvin harris then try to make use of the Arturia synths and Kontakt as Calvin uses a lot of hardware synths in his tracks so using Arturia synths allows you to replicate the sound
