Thanks for taking the time and making this. Dropped our 17 y/o daughter at R Day a week back. We watched your video several times and purchased some of the items. And oh yeah- thanks for your service. - Jake
Glad this video was of help and good luck to your daughter!
Thank you so much for putting this video together. This helps us a lot to prepare for BEAST. Please add more videos if you can.
Thank you!
Recieved my appointment for the class of 2028 3 weeks ago and this video is ereally helpful! Thank you for putting it together!
of course, good luck this summer!
Same lol, ill be seeing you
@@diedie865See y’all there! 🫶
I’ll see you there
Great video! I hope this could be my preparation for me to go West Point as foreigner!
Omg, Major still talks about you nonstop at Cypress. Your legacy never died here.
No way haha keep the legacy going!
Great video, thank you for taking the time and your tips. This mom appreciates it
Thank you!!
Doing ROTC at FIU atm, got accepted for CO2027! Excited to be there in a couple months 🙏
ayy thats whats up! southern strike battalion ftw
Great team leader
appreciate it‼️
Great video with a lot of great tips. Thank you. How many pairs of each type of socks (boot, dress, PT) and underwear do you recommend bringing to BEAST? Haven't seen the packing list yet, but seems like bringing extras is emphasized in most videos about BEAST.
I definitely recommend around 12-14 pairs of underwear (trust me you will need them). As for socks depends on whether you use the issued one as well, but I’d say around 8 or so of each type
I can see leadership
Thank you guys for this extremely helpful information. You mentioned having more 550 cord. Is there a specific color we should purchase? Im thinking black or green. Thanks.
definitely buy the green, good luck this summer!
This was an awesome video. Fantastic insight. Should the civilian bag be light and then more stuff can be brought by parents on A-day?
Thank you! Yes, I recommend bringing anything they would want but not need at BEAST on A-Day if you can make that trip.
I see on some parent Facebook pages that it is a good idea to pack your items in plastic bags for easy transfer into your new duffle. If you do this will you be able to just pull the ziplock bag out and transfer it into your new duffle, or will you have to empty the ziplocks before transferring?
You can transfer all together yes
Nice vid guys. How often do you get to do laundry during CBT? When do the cadre confiscate the cell phones and are there reports of some getting lost?
Laundry is very iffy during beast, we didn’t get laundry done until the 2nd week or so. But short answer is not often. The cadre will take the cell phones while you in-process on r day, and no one that I know of lost a phone. Thank you for the support!
Are black Under Armour underwear with the Under Armour logo in black an approved underwear at West Point? Love the post and your other replies have been very helpful too.
appreciate it, and yes they should be fine they will not check underwear for logos, only socks are checked
For a journal, would you recommend a pocket sized journal over a bigger size?
pocket sized for sure, it’ll come in handy since you can fit it in your pant pocket
I’m a junior looking at USMA. What would you recommend doing that could help with the application process? (extracurriculars, service, routines/workouts for CFA, etc.)
definitely look into any leadership positions in the clubs/sports you are already a part of. Also, work hard on your essays and interviews. They matter much more than people think, so make sure to talk about personal experiences that have shaped who you are and avoid basic answers that don’t make you stand out. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!
Took my son two years to get accepted. He doubled his push-ups and that made a world of difference. Don’t slack on your fitness test.
Do the cfa exercises a lot. Workout hard and often.
@@jtf1957Accepted!
Is there a dress sock you recommend? Or, if you buy black Fox River socks, can you use them for dress socks as well?
I recommend just using black socks that you use for boots and running shoes yea
Hi bro , I've just a question and I need your advice please.
I'm an African and precisely , I'm a Congolese 🇨🇩 from DRC , I want to apply for USMA like an international cadet.
what do you recommend me to have a maximal chance to be admitted for the tests and to pass the tests and to be admitted to the academy ?
Thank you Sir , God bless you 🙏🏿🔥
Hey, so I am not familiar with the process for international cadets to be admitted but I will say definitely focus on getting as high scores as possible on those tests so you are ready to do well in the curriculum here. Plenty of my international classmates do really well so study a lot and you should be good!
@@jtf1957 Sure, here is the translation of the French text into English:
Thank you so much for this beautiful message of encouragement, it gives me even more hope. I know that with God, nothing is impossible for those who believe. May God bless you.
May God bless you as well good luck!
what’s the situation with phones at west point? taken/ not taken?
you won’t have your phone for all of beast (6 weeks), but after that its all yours
Curious as to how you all found out about your beast companies before going (I’m ‘28)
congrats on the appointment! Every year someone usually leaks the roster in the class group chats, you’ll see it a couple of weeks before r day most likely
@@jtf1957 for clarification I haven’t received an appointment from West Point (yet, hopefully) but I’ve received one from Air Force, but thank you. I was also curious about how much you get to write back home?
@Bquiz77 during beast you can write home every night if you want, there is no limit
Do you have a recommendation for the low black shoes?
I have worn the bates leather oxfords since R-Day and they’ve held up well, i’d recommend them
Can you do a video how you guys fold the clothes, socks and boys underwear before R DAY?
a lot of people ranger roll their clothes, there are a lot of videos already on youtube that show how
Thank you
Where is the packing list
they will send out the official packing list in the next month or so, i think we got it in april
Are you guys allowed to bring alarm clocks? If so what kind?
you can yes but i recommend getting a watch that can set an alarm clock. Also the cadre will be your alarm clocks too lmfao
@@jtf1957 got it, thanks!
For Beast, can my Plebe bring head lamp that has both the tactical red and the white lens? Or, red only?
Yes, they can bring one with both lens but you can only use the red lens during beast
Thank you!
How much do you get paid at Westpoint academy, per month??
it varies by class and what state you are from, but cadets make roughly around 300-500 per month
Which bag do you recommend to ack to take to beast based on the size requirements?
I recommend something like this bag. www.amazon.com/adidas-Defender-Small-Duffel-Black/dp/B087LNQLG5/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=IXK6B3CWT7JN&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.rAGT7OCWEZxWoAVgAwcIRNjb-_bNeXSkIAmdfRFbq1m6l2rHYtNEV9dR1t8FfK4aZi0Sc_b5AxWt1YpTRsgbpFz4gCz0CLRvyvnVQLxb_ZNHe2v72ddQd4fj-k0kHdMmHP-q9uLzldPGxsIwNF-bWAnHEJusrmC9xPkpYb_w8fXEt1TnSUUUM3x5Un2IwJ4xyGQIbp2L2pm-HtBg5paduxCQdT5yPJF4aKsjXBzstavyr7BiVaM7PK0oWJkCnaekKGtifJ_4lUDr-yO2qvQExig-DaOser1eGXJ-b8AMokQ.CeKzHzMklsuJMRhUixvDUS9qZdSHKrJkONE2JX-ZSFA&dib_tag=se&keywords=mid+size+duffle+bag&qid=1715102656&sprefix=mid+size+du%2Caps%2C222&sr=8-3
good luck at beast!
Can you actually own an Xbox like your friend in USMA,and an Italian can join the academy?
yes, you can have your own gaming console as a cadet, but technically not until your sophomore year. Also, yes! You can gain admittance to West Point as an international cadet, I would start by contacting the U.S embassy in Italy and asking them about the process
@@jtf1957 like:Join, one year go home get your nerdy stuff and show how Much do you love videogames to your company XD (JK)
Cup your hands plebes.
Appreciate it Bros. Will see yall soon!!! Great video🤜🤛
thanks man, best of luck!
This was a great video guys. Thank you so much for taking time to do it and for the tips. This anxious, ever or over protective mom truly appreciates it.
we appreciate it!!
Excellent . Thank you for taking the time to put out this video. Any suggestions on where to purchase comfortable low quarter shoes. I bought ones from Altama but they felt horrible. How are the ones from the cadet store? Where did you purchase yours.
Appreciate it! I bought the Bates low quarters and almost a year later they are holding up great and have no blisters/uncomfort. Here is a link to them, a lot of us wear these www.galls.com/bates-leather-uniform-oxford?PMWTNO=000000000002078&PMSRCH=
Amazing video.Question what brand is the black backpack you guys use for everyday?
We use North Face backpacks, they’re very nice and they give them to you for free at the beginning of the year
My son is going to West Prep…do you know if this recs would apply to their beast as well?
congrats on your son’s appointment to the prep school, i didn’t attend prep but i would assume that they should pack similar things as a lot of the training is similar
where can i find the leaked company alignments?
they usually leak a couple of weeks before r-day, so it should come soon. join a class of 27 group chat and i guarantee someone will send it there
Fireee🔥🔥
Am I missing the link for the socks?
check in the description of this video, they are called fox rivers (first link i added in the description)
Do new cadets need to bring the Washington’s Crossing book to R-day, or can it wait until A-day? Is it needed at Beast?
you won’t need to bring it to r day yeah, bring it after
West Point just let me know two days ago! I got to catch up!
I’ve been rucking and running so I’m in decent shape, but I ran to the point of getting a stress fracture in cross country last season so I’m fairly familiar with pushing through pain. Thanks for making this video! I do really need good socks, on my first practice ruck (5 miles, 25 pounds), I tore up the back of my heel and bled through my boots and I didn’t even realize until I was done.
Congratulations on the appointment! Definitely invest in those good socks and boots, again I emphasize buying the Garmont T8 NFS boots if you don’t have them already. Also, buy some moleskin to help with those blisters if they keep happening as well. Good luck
Thank you. And thanks for making this video! The boots I’ve had were recommended by a friend who went through it too. I’ll break em in, but if it doesn’t get better, I’ll try the ones you recommend (If I have time lol)
