The art of tailgating is demonstrated with the finesse of a choreographed fencing duel. I am glad there are plenty of backup duellers to take their place if they come unstuck. Wish I was familiar with fencing terminology.
Somebody mentioned that US-400 and US-50 between Pueblo Colorado and Wichita Kansas will upgrade to an interstate highway sometimes in the future. All Crouse-Hinds OVZ Low Pressure Sodium Vapor Lamps should change to newer LED lights throughout Wichita Kansas.
Good one once again. Lots of Aviation History around Wichita: Boeing built B-29s there back in WW II, and the same factory built B-47s and B-52s. They still do B-52 upgrades there. There's also McConnell AFB with KC-10 tankers based there, and the Kansas Aviation Museum next to the base. You picked a nice time to be on 235, looks like, with some work going on...
Great video Kyle! I always took I-435 north or from the north to south and then connected to I35. I435 has all the services along it. Hope that helps you. Have an awesome weekend! I do so enjoy these road-trip videos! Mark in Iowa.
The Kellogg Frwy (US 54 & 400) was, at one point, supposed to become part of the Western extension of I-66, which would have also included US 60 (& MO 360) from Sikeston, MO, to Springfield, MO & various other routes.
Glen Campbell's Wichita Lineman is unsafe to use because of copyright reasons. I heard it in FWJ's director's commentary of Video 19-21 and he used the "Ghost Of An American Airman" version of it and it's safe to use. In this video, according to the description, Kyle used copyright free music here.
Not sure if you are heading further on I-35 but in Johnson County Kansas I-35 and I-435 on the southern leg of its loop have received a bunch of updates in the past 6 years and Johnson COunty is part of the Kansas City metro.
Out East (at least in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York), they have lots of turnpike travel plazas, with food courts, convenience stores, restrooms, and gas stations. And, of course, they charge more!
How does InterstateKyle have a video touring Wichita Freeways before Freewayjim? Freewayjim hates Kansas I guess. Then again, Kansas doesn't have much to offer in terms of interesting roads.
Definitely would suggest getting a K-TAG even if you are just on the turnpike once. Saves a lot of time and can be used on the toll roads in Oklahoma and Texas. Always dread the drive down to Dallas from KC because the turnpike is so boring. Doesn't help that it completely bypasses Wichita.....

I've driven on these highways so many times.
Good stuff, I didn't know Wichita was this large. The Canal Route is quite unique!
Thank you!

I want to thank you for these videos, they remind me of when I was young and on the road. A time that will be near and dear to my ❤️
Thank you very much Don!
Moved from Wichita two years ago and plan on moving back someday!
Love the freeway tour of The Wichita Metro.
Thank you!

My favorite freeway in the Wichita metropolitan area is I-135.
Same here
Looking forward to the freeway tours of Kansas
Awesome!!

I predict we'll hear either Glen Campbell or some cover version of "Wichita Lineman."

I heard the Pennsylvania Turnpike is really expensive to drive!
@@InterstateKyle oh, it most definitely is! 💸
Also Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey.
I’m sorry Kyle. I was wrong! I meant I-135 not I 435. That’s where I remember services being at exits along that stretch of Interstate. Mark in Iowa.

The best in the world of the same time in Kansas and the best and great for the family pictures of the world to see it happened in the world
K-96 should be called an extension of Interstate 235 or Interstate 835.
It would make a lot of sense considering both routes almost form a complete circle around the city.

I didn’t know you could use it in Oklahoma and Texas, I’m so on board with getting one now! :)
KTAG and its affiliated toll tags in Oklahoma and Texas are not compatible with ezpass.
@@SigmaRho2922 I see. I'm not sure if I ever driven on any ezpass roads though.
