1994. I was living in Miami. Had been transplanted there 2 years earlier from Chicago due to a job relocation. I used to come back on the weekends quite frequently to Chicago. Turns out I manage to get a gf back in Chicago during one of these weekend jaunts. A french woman, she was 11 years my senior. Beautiful woman. She came done frequently to Miami to visit me. But she was rather unfaithful. She was a sleep around. I remember calling her in the evenings sometimes until late and no answer. Meaning she wasn't home. Not sleeping at home. These were the days when mobile phones weren't as widespread as they are now. So that meant I couldn't just call her on her cell phone since she didn't have one. Next day I would finally reaching her like at work or at home the next evening and I would ask her "Where did you sleep last night?". Then this song came out. It was like magic.
