  • NPR posted a report recently about land issues at Pan African Village. The report caused some discomfort amongst current plot owners and potential plot owners. As a plot owner I too have an invested interest. So, I wanted to know what was really going on and what to expect moving forward. The chief has also indicated that he has a press conference scheduled for this month to clear up any additional questions.
    Thanks for watching.

Thanks very much for speaking to the King, it was insightful, we look forward to the press conference. One of the issues I have is the function of the office, currently one person works there, this is not a job for one person only, I understand that e-mails have not been answered in 2 years and getting paperwork ready for plotholders is slow and cumbersome, it is clear to see that the office should be manned by more than one person, preferably other people from the diaspora, this would bring about transparency and would also be of assistance to people from the diaspora, in having someone able to understand their concerns better. This issue has been raised several times but is yet to be addressed! 🙏🏿

If the Palace would work with the Plot Holders Association things will work more efficiently. Florence is unimpressive at best. She don't answer the phone and we all can't come there without wasting lots of time.

The Palace and the Paramount chief is it's own entity. My suggestion is to go with a cohesive step by step plan.

I think too many diasporans want lots of things done free and efficient but that’s not fair. I suspect that the chief with limited resources has to take care of the locals but if incoming diasporans are asking for infrastructure to be done and paid for with the limited local funds that’s really asking too much. The local economy does not collect taxes to fund projects.
The diasporans need to contribute and pay for some of the infrastructure expenses. They should lobby the local assembly to push the central government to assist with the infrastructure, maybe on a 50-50 contribution basis. If the diasporans wait and expect the central government to do all the infrastructure, they will be very disappointed because that would never happen. There’re too many projects in Ghana with limited funding.

Thank you for your input. Not one Diasporan wanted anything for free. We were informed that the infrastructure would be included and completed. It was part of the ' Year of Return '. The chief and the president of Ghana made an agreement as part of the package. The locals were supposed to have been compensated way before we got here. We didn't ask for anything free. We were educated on the plan and project. Things have sinced changed. Please listen to previous interviews with the paramount Chief.

Going straight to the the District Assembly for building permit is a lot more efficient then going to the Palace Office.

The PC and his team don't offer the full project site plan to individual plot holders. Each plot holders Indenture comes with a a partial site plan of the plot or plots of the individual. The Plot Holders Association is currently having a problem receiving funds from plot holders to make full copies available.

The PC has a team and the Plot Holders Association is our team. The PC has no effective Project Manager that our team can easily consult with to get things done. Meeting with the King is often problematic and the agreements are not backed up by his team.

Excellent questions. The APHA is about two years old now. It comprise of about 7 members of the leadership team. The leadership team is elected by the Plot Holders who wish to participate. Each member of the leadership team has a voice and a vote in their deliberations. One Sunday each month the leadship team report via zoom meeting to the Plot Holders.

The Plot Holders Association gave the PC The list of everyone on our team. The only team member we have from the PC team is Florence which is not efficient at all. Going around in circles getting the same authorization from the PC we received at the meeting is redundantly inefficient.

That's the point as you well know that speaking with the Chief is more easily said then done. All we have is Florence who can't make decisions or get anything done. She will only seek to confirm issues when she can and if she don't forget with the PC.
