Amoaa please let us show some kind of appreciation and respect for the Chief of Asebu and his elders and the community for the kindness and sacrifice for offering their land to our brothers and sisters from the diaspora to own land and build their homes here in the motherland. There’s no where in Ghana or Africa where you can buy a plot of land with documentation for the amount of money that they are paying for the land in Asebu.Amoaa you self being a citizen of Ghana can not own a land in your village for free unless it has been given to you by your family, even that you still have to spend money for the documents which may cost you more or less of the £400/$600 they have paid for the land in Asebu depending on your connections to people who can help you to get your land titles. So let brothers and sisters who have been blessed to benefit from this kindness for the Paramount Chief of Asebu and his community show appreciation and stop saying the land is not free and also some of you yotubers stop making negative postings about Asebu pan African village.
I have big respect to the chief of asebu pav ..may the father God and ours encestors bless him and protect him for all he has done . to given free land for all of ours brothers and and sister from the diaspora ., may the Lord God bless ours president Nana akufo Ado for everything he has done to invited all diaspora to come back home to mama Africa it was not only him but God of ours encestors told him to do so.
Nana, I understand you and appreciate your comment. I have seen this comment in different ways in the comment section so I think I should address it. Please note that they are paying $1200, per plot. Let's start from here. I am aware of the cost of land in that area and it’s surrounding communities, I am also aware of the cost of the paperwork involved in registering these lands, to acquire the site plans and indentures involved. The total cost of all these, land and paperwork, is less than the $1,200 in most cases. Lately the land prices in Asebu specifically, have increased because of the increased demand in the area but it should cost you anywhere between $500 to $700 per plot of land. The documentation process and associated fees should come to about $200 (this cost reduces, the more plots you acquire). Even in the highest case scenario the total comes to about $1,100, let’s round that up to $1,200. Where is the Free? It’s not an issue of being unappreciative, it is the fact that the land is not free. If something is marketed as free, it implies that it costs nothing. My being Ghanaian doesn’t change what the word free means. The cost covers BOTH the cost of the land and paperwork. That, Nana, is not free. Unless free means something else in this context. It being marketed as free, when it's not is the issue. No one is saying the initiative isn't a good one.
