How did you come up with the tonearms loose? They move when you scratch , same as any other turntable if you havent set the weight and height to your needles specs.

Dont sell your technics. Keep it but you wont regrer getting the PLX 1000. It definitely much better than the old SL1200s . I just bought a pair and I love it. I stored my old technics and I use this now on all my gigs.
Get the 1200GR, if you're going to go with a new Tech. Comparatively, the Pioneer S9 mixer, Rane 61 and 62, Denon's new mixer are all listed near $1500 respectively. So, most folks don't blink at nearly $2000 for a mixer but get butt hurt over the 1200 GR price. But I agree, DON"T sell your tech 12's for the PLX, DO NOT DO IT
700$? This did not make me want to drop a mortgage payment on a sub par turntable. This deck has nothing more then the ST-150.. Pioneer has balls to charge over 700 bucks for this deck. It cost pennies to have manufactured in China.. Especially with all turntables sharing OEM parts...
the ST-150 costs $600..... If anyone is willing to shell out $1000 for XDJ's then turntables look like a better, more affordable option. Stanton turntables are rarely used by dance DJ's anyway, they have too many features and look ridiculous with the round corners. These actually look and perform like 1200's, but don't sell your originals. Its similar to a Fender Rhodes piano MKVII, there will never be another original, but a good replica never hurts, especially for only $100 more than a comparable stanton or reloop
Also, calling this a "1000" level unit leaves room for Pioneer to release a "PLX-2000" with more features and higher quality, just like how the CDJ-2000 was a HUGE improvement over the CDJ-1000MK3, hopefully we'll see that in the future. Also, this was a year ago, and the Technics SL-1200GAE just released a few months ago at $5000 USD per unit.
The routines are nice and all. but I really wish you guys would do a feature on things like: 1. what types of needles are they using and how they set them 2. computer operating system and settings 3. slip mat types 4. Control vinyl types and versions I have the same equipment these Dj's have. HELP ME OUT!!!
Types of needles ? My question to you is what genre do you play? If you like hip hop or turntablism like the video. Go for Ortofon Scratch or Qberts or the Gold Ortofons (you like to stand out). If you like Electro music/dance then go for the Ortofon Elektro. I use the Elektro even though I like to scratch and im a hiphop dj but versatile and play all genre so I prefer the Elektro by Ortofon. As far as computer...go for Macbook Pro and control vinyl by Serato or Traktor. Hope that helps

I play all Genre's and have been a Dj for over 25 years. No, i'm not a "turntablist" per sey, but I do scratch and mix. Any WINDOWS user, please chime in......
You need to try it . You will change your mind once you get the feel and this turntable is like the upgraded version of the technics. I bought a pair last month and i love it. I use it more often now on all my shows. I kept the technics at home and use this on the daily.
sorry bro but these are NOT an upgraded Tech....the biggest failure about the PLX are the damn tone arms and gimbal suspension. Not to mention the feedback issues. I had these, one day, sent them right back. Never again. If you're going to go OEM I suggest Reloop RP 7000 or Stanton Str8 150 and for a lot less than these over priced decks.

serato is dead easy! Learned it in under 1 hour, its pretty much the same concept all around.. just mess around and u will get it m8 ;)
