This is essential to know if you make a dark level (that isn’t in SMB1 because it doesn’t work there for some reason).
They could include style specific variants of the icicle such as stalactites (cave) or drills (airship) for the other styles. Also the giant icicles that land, stick in the ground, then sometimes fall over from NSMB would be nice to have.
One ways are also global items, which means they can be used for ELB contraptions without counting towards the entity limit, and they don’t have to be loaded for it to work. (I also think they are global ground but haven’t tested, snake block is global ground tho)
Snake blocks are like hidden blocks, they are fine, *UNLESS they fall into the wrong hands* also, Banzai Bills are a big hitbox that moves in a specific direction, so they are actually quite good
I think I would move the see-saw and icecicles up, I really don't think you've thought about all the different uses for those. For seesaws, when tracks are involved they're about as using as the normal moving platforms. Icicles can be used as an interesting downward one way door and moving platform in addition to being a threat or decoration.

Great vid! Unfortunate that you don’t like the snake block, though I agree it’s difficult to use properly and isn’t designed well. The one major level I use them in revolves around swapping between snake blocks and land in a traditional level, giving the player coins and enemies to deal while they wait for the Snakeblock. Great analysis of all these gizmos!!
Another good use world be like the 5-tower level, you do switch between, as well as adding unchain chomps on tracks to remake the pendulums. Only if we could make them big.
Idk if you already tried this with track blocks from 3D World style, but the best use I found was a resettable one way door that moves out from a room you can only enter by a warp box or some other one way means in to prevent one from collecting pink coins easily in a puzzle room and skip the gimmicks altogether yet have a faster way back to the door to go to another pink coin room

I don't remember where I saw this video but I think its purpose was to showcase the then-recently added Boss music sound effect.
You forgot the greatest thing about 3D world On Off Mushrooms! In the off state, they are the only 3D world semi solid that are neutral ground that you can place ground and items over!

4:12 woah. I mean I get why you put it here but this thing is incredibly useful for 3D World contraptions. 3D World is super restrictive with what items can be placed over each other, but this semi solid can be pretty much anywhere making many 3D World contraptions no longer impossible or much more compact
One way to make snake blocks less despicable is having tracks indicate the snake blocks path. Also, a great example of a snake block level is PePanga's Snake Charmer. It is kaizo, but it displays elements that are pretty great with snake block.

Yes, the one who put the dash panels above the seesaw.
I barely see anyone using the Snake Blocks in their levels.
You are a very lucky soul
Snake Blocks are very good for troll levels.
Yeah
Snake blocks are really good for kaizo platformers
Loving these videos dude! Great to see a new video!!
I bassicly agree with everything
Says the guy who did not watch it
@@Eternaltus yes
I watched the video but i skipped over some parts of it
@@Eternaltus dont get mad at me pls
21:18 compared to 10:01
Why you gotta do the box like that?
Some of the lower tier gizmos are pretty great in troll levels. You can hide a powerup behind a banzai bill, same with the snake blocks to break through bullet bill launchers.
Also the see saw is waaaaay too low, the amount of mechanisms they enable is crazy
Another cool thing about springs are if they are sideways they are the only surface Mario can stand on and Roy cannot. Very useful for cheese prevention during Roy boss fights.
Alternative Title:Ranking Some Things
Hello, Odssey Central! I know that you probably don't remember me but doens't change what i got to say anyway, but...i just want to thank you, thanks for having determination, love and so much effort in your videos. I love everything in your videos, the little references, the jokes, the theme, the gameplay even the music, all of that makes your videos such a joy to see. Your are my principal inspiration for all to make good content on youtube. I just want to say with all of that is...i really like your channel, and how much i think you are awesome. And well, thats it...if you even read at this point, i got something more to say to you...i love you and your content, and i hope you are okay. Now i can finally say, goodbye, Odssey Central, and once again, thanks for making my day so much better!
:)
Thank you so much :D
I love your videos
I've been waiting for a new video for so long
My least favourite has to be the skewer, since they sometimes come out of nowhere and they used to scare me lol
I feel bad for u
The on off trampoline canne used like a semi solid block in 3d world that actually goes through ground!
Could u rank all enemies
love your videos! keep up the good work!
5:00 what is this song called pls
Keep up the good content! Its very poggers
Next video: Ranking all enemies
29:03 "I have no recollection of how we made boss fights before these were added in Mario Maker 1 as an update."
I remember seeing an official Nintendo trailer in which they explained that you can make a level where you have to fight Bowser Jr. because you need his clown car to proceed. And a level where you have to fight Bowser because he is blocking your way. I don't remember where I saw this video but I think its purpose was to showcase the then-recently added Boss music sound effect.
wow u are really running out of ideas
this is a joke
I was expecting tracks to take #1. Also, firebar injustice.
Why did he spend 2 minutes on the snake block when he hates it so much
You forgot the greatest thing about 3D world On Off Mushrooms! In the off state, they are the only 3D world semi solid that are neutral ground that you can place ground and items over!
Man seriosly why is the skull snake are in 21? And i see an very fast 9+10 who is equal to 19 no seriously Is literaly the same as the snake, too slow or too fast what is the ultilyty of this??? Should be 1 after the snake it just are useful for decoration i don't understand you.
I agree, the Lava Lift is underrated
..snake block is last place..
4:12 woah. I mean I get why you put it here but this thing is incredibly useful for 3D World contraptions. 3D World is super restrictive with what items can be placed over each other, but this semi solid can be pretty much anywhere making many 3D World contraptions no longer impossible or much more compact
Would it be possible to make a top 10 Zelda games vid
there are only 19 games
@@regularben so???? Don't matter, maybe rank all the games?
7:42 I get joke 😂you jumped in to one😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The snake block isn't useless as it can be used in some timer set-ups the player needs to activate.
and it is global ground
@@SomeoneWeird-vx5jx I actually didn't know that part
You put so much effort into your videos and you've been yt forever. You deserve more subs
One way to make snake blocks less despicable is having tracks indicate the snake blocks path. Also, a great example of a snake block level is PePanga's Snake Charmer. It is kaizo, but it displays elements that are pretty great with snake block.
2:30 that reference tho 😆
Didn't even notice that the first time I watched this
