I'm from San Antonio Tx and I grew up on the story of La Llorona and I still get chills about the story because of me being traumatized by her when I was a kid so I'm really curious on how their going to film it and can't wait for a trailer
I just hope they don't kill off la llorona in the typical white girl discovers a picture of the ghost when it was alive, goes to the library or church to do research on it then does an exorcism, ghost demon whatever disappears way, la llorona is supposed to roam the earth for eternity and I hope they stick to that, otherwise I'm gonna be pissed
The version of the story I was told was La Llorona was a young mother that met a man who she fell in love with. He left her saying he didn't want to be tied down with her & her brats. Broken hearted she drowned them all & then killed herself. In the afterlife she is punished with regret for this awful act. She is forever cursed to roam for eternity every night searching for her lost children crying "Mi Hijos!!!!" When she gets her hands on a young child who is up past curfew, she assumes they will replace her dead babies.
Ponysmasher Just an old legend. Ever since the Spanish arrived they documented hearing the lament "ay my children!" . Then people added things to fill in gaps like she killed her husband and children but there's no evidence to that myth or that she once was a real person. It is believed that it was the mother of Aztec Gods that called the end of their civilization when the Spaniards arrived.
ok, so I apologize, because the only movie I knew linda cardellini starred in was scooby-doo, but nothing else...maybe she had other famous movies I dunno....but when the reporter mentioned other famous/big names and when raymond added linda´s name to them, I was like: "why?? I only knew her from scooby-doo as velma" :D :D
