What I need is a smaller flatbed tow truck, one that has very WIDE tank treads between the front and rear wheels, that can be lowered to the ground so that the tow truck can get un-stuck in the deep snow they encounter, something that happens a lot in the midwest. In a lot of the blinding blizzards, the tow trucks get stuck themselves even when they keep on the pavement. Tracks would help them get unstuck. 6 feet of snow, and even chains and AWD don't do much to help.

Tractors - from a very young age I had been shown how to help my Dad make progress with a finger bar mower. You see, we were meant to be cutting hay for a customer farmer but really it was rich green grass lying on the ground, and that current technology was unable to clear itself moving more than a meter through the meadow! With frustration, he put me sitting in the driver's seat, shown all the controls, and said now your driving! He next moves back behind the cutting blade and asked the farmer if he could borrow his hayfork? With hand signals and the hayfork we became a team - forward until it chocked in a bundle, stop - reverse 6 / 10". Dad would clear the chocked grass with 1 or 2 movements of the hayfork and signal me to move on again. This order of working was repeated and we became a team with more efficency as the hours went on. All of this time the farmer stayed 4 steps behind the activity! The new Dexta tractor was introduced at the time with the "LIVE power take off" feature. (P.T.O.) Thankfully we finished that field many hours earlier than normal.
100 ton rotator tow trucks were built first by B&B before Miller industries even CH Chase towing company owner built first 100t tow truck before Miller .
Bit of a jazzy video, I would have preferred more time spent with each type rather than the chopping and changing. However an interesting look at modern recovery trucks, I drove a 6 wheeled Scammell ! In the early 1970's.
There isn't a Peterbilt Century M100 there have only been 3 made. The First Century M100 was a Kenworth W900. The Second and Third Century M100 were both Kenworth C500. Also, I would love to see an M100 On A C500W Single Steer Tri-Drive Chassis With A Sleeper Cab, A Knee Boom Under Lift, And Some Other Customizations That Would Be An Amazing Truck.
@@danieljacob761 The fourth M100 Rotator was on a Peterbilt 389 Long Hood chassis it has the Underlift on it I don't think it is a Detachable Underlift. M100 Rotator #6 is going to have an Underlift on it. It is supposed to be on a Kenworth C500W Tri-Drive Chassis with a 42 inch Sleeper I talked to someone who works for the company that is supposed to get it. But I don't know about #5.
when recovering a lift and tow I thought it was good practice to remove prop shaft see towing at 4.20 min, I must asked Ron Pratt if I am right he will know.
you are correct there is no reason to have the drive shaft spin. If the trucks U joints got damaged or prop shaft was bent in the roll overit will spin badly likely to lose parts en route. Nice tow trucks
# 1 , I still think they look like MBT retrievers . # 2 , I Think a large strobe warning light for the top of the boom would be a good idea , # 3 , How about a good coffee pot ? # 4 , How about a built in video set up ?
While I love euro equipment. Yall atr better served by the Canada ND states heavy units. I see a way too hi cog that could be easily handled with your narrow roadways.
The Stathams looks like a transformer from the 80s. The swivel flatbed is awesome
Гениальная идея, совместили 3 в 1. Кран, Эвакуатор, Тягач. Это супер техника которую довелось увидеть. Суперрр грузовик.

Man I love my job! Really cool seeing other truck styles.
Well bless my cotton socks. At 70 years young ex HGV class 2 + 1 these rotors trucks USA and GB worth their money in gold.
I like the idea of being able to lift a jack leg over the crash barrier although watch out for passing tractors 3:38 !!
I love when they show the tow truck
That semi picked up on its side must have been a practice setup. Still good. Impressive gear
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Jamie Davis needs to talk his brother Jason into buying one of these!

Imagine the tickets one has to get (in Australia anyhow) to operate these Tonka toys on steroids.Great video.

It IS on the shoulder. Still TOO exposed, but technically not in a travel lane.
What are the main advantages of using knuckle boom cranes over traditional cranes?

Rotator are working in America since a long time. Look at Miller Industries to find 100to rotator, for example.

Impressive!
I prefer seeing a larger cab for a better crew experience especially in bad weather
Recovery trucks aren’t mobile homes...... There’s no time to relax you have clean the site ASAP.

I take it in places you are mixing Metric tonnes and Imperial tons together?
3:28 how friggin dangerous is that...
J'ai beaucoup apprécié cette expérience bOn camion
The century m100 didn't make the list.............WHY???? You take one look at that beast and you'll want just one
At what point do they stop being tow trucks and start becoming mobile cranes???
That’s what I said when I seen the 100 ton crane wrecker like for what 😂 like some company had like a million to waste huh
Il faut en faire des dépannages pour rentabiliser le matos
How to buy in India
