  • The Arrma Outcast 8s meets the mega ramp! Didn’t take long to find the first weak points!
    What we learned!
Front bumper plastic is rock hard! Broke in 2 places.. More flex is needed here!
Wheelie bar broke. There is no rear bumper, it’s the first point of contact when landing on the rear and when tumbling. No surprise here!
Shock shafts are not up to the task of this heavy beast! We knew this would happen, been reported by many 8s owners. There’s a reason m2c released hardened shafts quickly for this vehicle!
Secure your battery connectors and wires! This goes without saying for any extreme bashing. Otherwise the connectors bounce around on impact and will definitely break or come unplugged!
A arms! Once again there’s a reason RPM released a arms quickly for this RC. The stock plastic is too hard and will snap on a decent impact. The truck is 25-30lbs.. it’s no surprise. Rpm arms offer the flex that is needed here!
So far no chassis issues! This is the version “1.5” with a new rear brace system. The outcast also has a shorter chassis. So far so good!

Those battery straps have places for the cables to keep them from bouncing around so hard. Put the clips on the inside and press the wires down in them. With the connection between the two clips.

Good idea. Usually they have 1 clip so they work their way out anyway. Didn’t realize it had 2 clips. We did Velcro the connectors and zip tie wires already tho

RPM is good but the flex also leads to bent shafts m2c for the fix ..Just subbed

Thanks for the sub! Everyone bends shafts on stock arms as well. Glad there is a fix! Couldn’t imagine not being able to jump it.

Definitely wanting an Outcast 8s but I think I'm going to build it from m2c chassis and piece it together. Thanks for the bash video.

Did you guys have a hard time getting the rpm arms on? Mine the holes are not lined up I can’t get the hinge pins through both holes. Looking for some help.

Looking for a good not stock front bumper for mine Arrma 8s... Any ideas?

I believe at the moment the only option is T-Bone Racing Kraton 8s bumper. Should bolt straight on but haven’t tried myself. Otherwise a new stock bumper with some MO94 plastic treatment to soften it up might help

Is the mega ramp 45 degreeish?

There’s no droop screws on rpm arms think that why bent shock rods

I just installed them yesterday and realized this. They kinda suck. They let the arms extend too far down and the cvds don't spin freely unless it's on the wheels. If it's upside down it's no good.

Xmaxx bumper is very curved. Outcast body is straight. Wouldn’t look right.

Nice sends. I have the Outcast 8s running the XLX2 AND 1100KV motor with 35/47 gearing, which makes it the freaking BEAST. I get 20ft+ jumps off my ramps because of the high speed. Yeah I do bend shock shafts and broken shock rod ends on a bad landing, but the 30wt oil reduces that. A few other weak points, but this thing is tough for a 28lbs of a beast. My big block Xmaxx is a BEAST too with 25/35 gearing. I honestly love them both. Great video. Subscribed. Check out my channel for some Xmaxx and Outcast big block action.

I could only imagine the power with that esc motor and gearing combo! This is our first experience with 1/5 scale and it is fricken awesome!!! I’ll def check out your channel!

@@nashtytracks I've made my Outcast 8s pretty much a flying tank with these upgrades : EXB K8S and K8S rear shocks all the around, M2C hinge pin blocks, M2C chassis and Arrma diff aluminum cases. Just wanted to update you. My chassis was badly bent. The EXB shocks and shock rod ends are a solid upgrade. I also put an extra battery strap across the battery trays because if you don't, your battery gets ejected if one of the stock straps breaks. That destroyed one of my batteries. Bash on! I haven't broken my bumper like that because I land almost all the time on the wheels. Hehe 👍
