    Thanks Mike! Been using cakewalk for the last year and a half and never realized there was a convolution reverb on the pro channel! Learn something new with all your videos.

    I like the console module. It's a very subtle effect, but it you put it on every channel it adds a ton of depth to the mix, and gives it a much more organic sound.

      I tried it often - and a week later - if i put off this effect, it sounds much better.

    This series is so amazing. Been using Cakewalk since the mid 90’s. Bought Sonar Platinum for $500 just before they folded. I learned a lot here and am working my way through all your videos.

    Thank you so much Mike! This is so helpful. I agree the Quadracurve EQ is about the most useful module out of all of them on the pro channel. Love this power tool.

    Great Mike! I never tried the reverb module because of its appearance ( I know.. ). But after watching this video I gave it a shot. I have a very picky wife when it comes to reverb. I found a preset, added it to the track and it was perfect. This is a full-on time saver for me...thank you!!

    Nice explanation. I've just been at Cakewalk a few months, discovered how handy the ProChannel is already but still learnt something today. I like how one can add effects at different parts like track viewer, ProChannel, Bus, and find it very handy. I try to have some priorities in applying effects so I don't go adding them all over the place and ending up with a mess when I can't figure out where some effect is coming from 😆
    Thanks 😎

    In order to crate a "signature" sounding deck, my pro channel signal chain is always:
    API console simulation
    Drive - just a touch for a bit of warmth
    Compressor - as a finishing touch on gain staging
    EQ - mostly for hi/lo pass but additional fine tuning as well. Gloss enabled depending on the instrument
    This is my foundation for every track, again, for the purpose of establishing a common signature.
    I rarely use reverb in the pro channel workflow unless I'm specifically looking to subtly emulate room mic input effect. Pretty much keep all FX to busses.
    Longtime Cakewalk Sonar Producer user

    Nice explanation of the ProChannel features. I was hoping to get ahold of the Lexicon impulse responses but as far as I can tell your link doesn't work. Back in the day (Sonar 3 or Sonar 5) Lexicon reverb used to be part of the cakewalk Sonar package and I miss it!

      Can't find it either, been looking for it for a while. Seems when Cakewalk was still called Sonar, it used to come with it. Now us newer people can't access it, they don't have permission to carry it anymore.

    The waveform doesn't changes when we apply plugins like compressor etc on the track but it is not the same case in many other DAWs
    Is there any settings to fix this ?

  • @milansimko3501

    I don´t understand why I can´t open up the big EQ by one click on EQ-diagram (EQ-window) in console view? Why do they don´t allow that?

    • @damianoakes2592
      @damianoakes2592 Год назад

      Honestly, that's the biggest thing that keeps me from using it. It's not a bad EQ at all, but I don't like all the extra clicking I have to do to get to it. I would add that feature, plus a separate view with all the EQ nobs for each channel like a console strip, which would make everything so much faster!

    • @OLLiGoldeaux
      @OLLiGoldeaux Год назад +1

      I had the same problem: click on the arrow at the side to make the Strip greater - than click in the eq Diagram. Now you get the Window with the analyzing etc
