That knuckle thing is mind blowing to me. I played baseball as an in-shape freshman in highschool and I got into softball as an out of shape 24 year old. It’s amazing the things you can forget and the things you learn
I’ve been in a rut for my last 4 games hitting, been striking out. I followed your technique’s and crushed every ball tonight, felt amazing. Thankyou so much!!!!!
I watched this video and changed how I was holding and swinging. It was actually way more comfortable than what I was doing. Not only that, I put one out for the first time last night!!! So stoked, thank you Jeff!!
I had to leave a comment. Earlier tonight I tried this style of holding the bat and let me just say! I SMASHED one out of the park on my second time up to bat during the game!! I’ve played many games before hand and never hit a homer this was a major boost to my overall performance as usually I’m a base hitter. Now I have this in my locker it’s ON!! Great tips thank you Jeff
Lining your knuckles up on your grip is great advice for any young hitter regardless if you’re playing baseball or softball/slow pitch. It’s a very simple tip but it helped me out tremendously at the plate.
Thank you for this this is my first year of slow pitch softball and I'm 32. I played baseball and basketball growing up. Never would I have thought softball would have been a totally different game the baseball you have to readjust on your catching pop flies you're biting everything
I went from never even played baseball, playing softball for 3 months, learned these exact techniques. After a few weeks, I was consistently crushing the ball. These techniques will work for anyone willing to try it. Unfortunately, I did not learn them here.
An ex minor league player who came out n taught my little league team 15 years ago taught me about the knuckle alignment this is the 2nd time I ever hear anyone mention it and it does work even now that I’m doing slow pitch for fun.
I had very bad mechanics to my swing. arms straight throughout the whole swing no whip or anything. I would get it above the infield a few times but mostly just ground out to 3rd. I'm going to work on these great tips and see how it goes..
Started hitting home runs. Won our league mvp a few times but haven't been able to play in a few years with my new work schedule. Inflation and all that lol
In 3 minutes, he gets to the point. Bites, teeth and meat. Line up knuckles, shows you how to swing. I've let go with right hand in batting practice, surprisingly ball still moves and rides over infield. Well done video. Not 20 minutes of a guy who likes hearing himself talk.
Crazy how little people know about knuckle alignment before this video. Even with myself I remember my baseball coach telling me to line my knuckles up when I was about 10, and he pulled me adidas’s to tell me this. It wasn’t a large group teaching. My guess is our coaches think we already know the secret sauce of knuckle alignment
I don't hit like Jeff. Not many do but the knuckles lining up rule is really just to ensure the bat stays in your fingers and not in your palms. A softer grip on the bat will increase bat speed and fluidity through the swing. It's an old little league that coaches taught but few understood.
Just got back from gastonia. Visited my mother in law. My family and I love watching you on youtube and instagram. When do you play locally or travel near athens ga to play?
If you let go with one hand you can seriously hurt your shoulder. Happened to me. I have to train my mind to keep both hands on the bat all the way through
When I was a freshman in HS I learned to swing a bat from a training film by Jimmie Foxx If you don't know who he is go and find out. The year Babe Ruth hit 60 HR he finished the year with 58 HR. He had several rain outs with HR they did not count. He was several years behind Babe Ruth and was the second player to hit 500 HR, he retired with 534 HR To make a long story short I loved to play football and baseball never liked to watch it. About 5 years a go on youtube stuff pops up and a pro-game was on I said to myself these guys don't even know how to swing a bat, I then over the next several years when looking for the guy that taught me as I did not remember his name.I finally went back 100 years one day I am watching old film the camera was behind the batters R shoulder with about 25% of the swing before the camera cuts "THATS HIM" I now had an era I just had to find out who he is it took me awhile but I did. One of his contempary's said of him he could tell when Jimmie was at bat with his eyes closed as he hit the ball harder then any one else. The formula for kinetic energy is "1/2 the mass times the volosity squared". If you are just standing there and swing the bat you will feel the bat trying to go endow out of your hands when the bat continues on it will feel like it is going to take the back of your head off, it won't. The other part is just step into the ball you don't have to be Elvis. I showed it to some girls this spring just standing there, one of the grils yelled out "SHIT that looks like a helicopter". Last year and this year I have tried to get little league coach's to let me teach it to them to pass it on, no interest. I live in Portland Oregon. what a shame. Don
Really wish we actually saw him hit a ball... not taking away from his hitting, 2 very good, very basic tips we teach every new hitter just would have been nice if the camera was from behind him
I’m 6 foot 240 pretty strong yet I can’t hit a damn home run Jeff I’m watching your videos man and trying. A guy my size should be putting them 400 feet. I hit for average singles but I want a few dingers like these
i play softball and volley ball and when i started volley ball my coach said its not about stregth its about mechanics its how fast you can swing it through this is BS what u said bahaba
It's like pulling back a bow 300 lb man if he don't have any back muscle he will struggle pulling back 70lbs iv had a fire fighter friend couldn't pull my bow back or even ring the bell at the fair lol gotta have the power behind it
it is mostly all bat if you have any strength and good follow through home runs come easy even on 320 fields but you will need more size to achieve 400 distance , 30 years ago these bats didn't exist
Everything you're saying is 10000% wrong. Best bat ever made was like 20 years ago lol. And its extremely hard to hit the ball over 300 feet. And it's not bat at all. It's all technique. You're probably dropping bombs on 250' fences in co'ed thinking you're actually the shit.
You're both correct, it depends on bats whether you use ASA, NSA USSSA, bats. NSA bats will hit harder and farther than ASA. If you have a great swing, bat speed, shifting your weight and hand grip you will hit the ball a lot farther as well. 300 ft is not that hard to hit a ball out though even with ASA bats.
Because you shouldn’t be teaching them this, it can feel unnatural to them. Top hand door knocker knuckles can line up anywhere between the bottom door knocker and punching knuckles. Forcing a specific grip can ruin someone’s natural swing
What if your soft ball ass self is short. I'm 5'4 and I play in a softball league. I'm the shortest guy on the team but I get on base almost everytime. Just could never hit a homerun and these tall guys make it look easy. I feel left out 😂
That knuckle thing is mind blowing to me. I played baseball as an in-shape freshman in highschool and I got into softball as an out of shape 24 year old. It’s amazing the things you can forget and the things you learn
The "lining the knuckles up" tip made a huge difference. Thank you!
I’ve been in a rut for my last 4 games hitting, been striking out. I followed your technique’s and crushed every ball tonight, felt amazing. Thankyou so much!!!!!
I had never hit a home run in softball before, and I did it today after watching this video. Thanks, Jeff!!
Christian Searcy congrats cuz! Keep swingin hard.
+Jeff Hall Softball can girls use the bat for fast pitch?

Jeff Hall Softball oh great thank! very hard to find a good bat at a good price
Jeff Hall Softball i didn't see one in that color though
I watched this video and changed how I was holding and swinging. It was actually way more comfortable than what I was doing. Not only that, I put one out for the first time last night!!! So stoked, thank you Jeff!!
what changes did you make?
I had to leave a comment. Earlier tonight I tried this style of holding the bat and let me just say! I SMASHED one out of the park on my second time up to bat during the game!! I’ve played many games before hand and never hit a homer this was a major boost to my overall performance as usually I’m a base hitter. Now I have this in my locker it’s ON!!
Great tips thank you Jeff
“Gon go thru a little hitting teeyupps”

Heeting teetupps*
My caption said “HEATING DRILL” I knew he was southern
Love Jeff, he’s a SAVAGE! 😂
I fucking read this shit before watching the video and when he said it I was laughing for like 10 mins straight 😂😂
Lining your knuckles up on your grip is great advice for any young hitter regardless if you’re playing baseball or softball/slow pitch. It’s a very simple tip but it helped me out tremendously at the plate.
As a southern boy (74 yrs old) , myself, love to hear Jeff Hall talk ! I'll bet he can eat some cornbread ! :)
Thank you for this this is my first year of slow pitch softball and I'm 32. I played baseball and basketball growing up. Never would I have thought softball would have been a totally different game the baseball you have to readjust on your catching pop flies you're biting everything
Thanks Jeff! I took 4 strokes off my game after watching your video!
Gotta love the passion after he hits the ball. Someday I hope to put one over the fence. Hooya!
I went from never even played baseball, playing softball for 3 months, learned these exact techniques. After a few weeks, I was consistently crushing the ball. These techniques will work for anyone willing to try it. Unfortunately, I did not learn them here.
Thank you man I hit a grand slam today and you helped me thank you very much.
1:00 he was giving the bat the work lol
Thanks man i hit my first homerun from your tips
An ex minor league player who came out n taught my little league team 15 years ago taught me about the knuckle alignment this is the 2nd time I ever hear anyone mention it and it does work even now that I’m doing slow pitch for fun.
2:18 "Cause I'm twerkin' so hard"
Bruh 😭🤣💀
I had very bad mechanics to my swing. arms straight throughout the whole swing no whip or anything. I would get it above the infield a few times but mostly just ground out to 3rd. I'm going to work on these great tips and see how it goes..
How'd it go
Instructions unclear: I think it killed him
Started hitting home runs. Won our league mvp a few times but haven't been able to play in a few years with my new work schedule. Inflation and all that lol
Love the knuckle coaching here. It helped!
Nice vid man. Keep em comming
I really like the new legit, feel great, I can hit really hard with it. Love the color too!
How to use driving power from lower body strength, thank you sir
But will this grip and follow through work for only power hitters ?
jlmathis3 no it work for all
Generally speaking, improving your power will improve your batting average. Hit the ball hard and make them make the hard play.
Crazy how little people know about knuckle alignment before this video. Going my fast pitch to slowpitch where timing was half of my job I’m struggling big time.
Jeff Hall can rock the pink
Just got back from gastonia. Visited my mother in law. My family and I love watching you on youtube and instagram. When do you play locally or travel near athens ga to play?
Uncle Rico Softball Academy. Love it
What is the heaviest bat available for slow pitch? Thanks in advance
I'm not gonna embarrass myself in gym class, I'm not gonna embarrass myself in gym class
Simple. Solid instructions. Well done
Do you offer one on one training?
This is so much like a parody baseball video that I wasn’t sure it was for real or not lmao
Thanks you help me with softball
Jeff Hall reminds me of Kevin Millar lol
I'm a 125 lbs i firing these things man fr thank you
First season playing thx for the tips
great video man helped me out
Is his hand OVER the bottom of the bat?
Is this an episode of eastbound and down?
Ryan Thomas lmfao
Sick video used it in physical education in the UK!!!
Doesn’t it hurt your pinky or hand when you wrap it over the bottom like that? (Don’t judge…)
That ball was hit cuz!!
whats the model of sunglasses?
Wow. This man torques HAWRD
It’s official I’m getting old.. thanks man
If you let go with one hand you can seriously hurt your shoulder. Happened to me. I have to train my mind to keep both hands on the bat all the way through
What bat grip tape is that on there?
Good tip on letting bat go. I hit 10 or so balls full swing and I'm in pain
Didn't know gripping a bat had so much science 😂
To have one of these legit a again . Best bat ever
I didn't know Rob Wiggle was in a softball movie. 😂😂
Looks good.. Wrap around 😊
Thanks bro!
what balls do they use?
Always forget to line up the knuckles. When I do remember, I usually get some nice contact 👍🏼
My coach taught me the knuckles. The bat doesn’t hop through the strike zone. It stays level with the swing. Just flick it through.
Do u think your elbows need to be up?
Thank you
Good thing I'm watching this I'm 9 years old and I'm playing a practice and I need to watch it
Had to subscribe off this video alone. The release of the bat has always been my issue. Never heard it explained the way you did.
Got a game tonight. Going to try to smesh every ball. Going to take those balls into deep, deep water
Thanks that helped a lot
That's a good swwaayyiing!!
Thanks bro meant a lot I gotta rlly far

I’m 6 foot 240 pretty strong yet I can’t hit a damn home run Jeff I’m watching your videos man and trying. A guy my size should be putting them 400 feet. I hit for average singles but I want a few dingers like these
What about your elbows up on a stands ?
Guy looks like he could be Kevin millars brother
Jeff Sup wee go'n yo see you tee off on some balls wit 2017 bats or what?
Is this a character or is this guy for real??
Can you explain to me why medal bats are allowed in slow pitch softball. I think men's league should be using wooden bats.
This guys accent is awesome lol. Kenny Powers ish
I think I saw this dude at my weed dealers house
Doesn't matter how you swing it if you don't have the power to get it over the fence.
Jessica Sims not true 😓
I have seen a 120 pound kid hit a homerun everytime, It's all about form for sure.
i play softball and volley ball and when i started volley ball my coach said its not about stregth its about mechanics its how fast you can swing it through this is BS what u said bahaba
That is what I said...?

Can't believe that bat is now worth $400 and up
So...swing hard?

I’ll save you time. He said to swing hard.
"I hope you're getting them on video".... nope, we arent. no idea where that lands bud smh
THAT BAT IS SEXYYYYYYYYYY
Depends on the batter bro you're a bigger guy
Guy sounds and looks like Luke Bryan lol
notice he lifts his leg and puts it in the bucket;
I throw out my groin holding my bat through
Is he speaking English?
It's southern not english
