  • Paris Métro Line 3bis is one of the sixteen lines of the Paris Métro. It connects Gambetta and Porte des Lilas in the 20th arrondissement in the east of Paris. With a length of 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) and four stations, the line is the shortest in the network. It is also the least used line, with just over 1.6 million passengers in 2003, behind Line 7bis's 3.5 million. Lightly patronized, it utilizes a small fleet of old MF67 cars arranged in 3-car consists.
The line was constructed during the 1910s as an extension to Line 3, but the two were disconnected in 1971. From then on Line 3bis was operated separately. Concurrently, Line 3 was extended to Gallieni.

An empty train doesn’t bug me. A train with just me and one other person on the other hand…

Long term goals call for the combining of 3bis and 7bis.

Very very long term goals. The projet is clearly not going forward for now.

@@equilat It would be simple to do. But all the effort and money are going into the lines 15/16/17 right now, with a good reason. One day hopefully

You were lucky to have a "noisy" one. She kept the old gimbals with right angles which make this very 70's meow.

These MP59 units were retired a few weeks ago. No more self-service door latches with the distinctive click.

The trains on Lines 3bis are of the MF67 type: they are still running on Lines 3, 3bis, 10 and 12 for a few more years.

MF67 not MP59. The MP59 has sliding window ventilators instead of vertical sashes

It is not creepy. It is a very smart system that does not produce as much noise as heavy rail.
