These helmets can connect to your smart phone via bluetooth allowing you to take calls and listen to music while riding your bicycle. The helmets also feature a built in FM radio. Two speakers are located above the ears with a microphone located in the center of the front of the helmet. Up to 4 Sena Helmets can be connected to create an intercom system making communication during rides easy between riders.

Travels with Delaney - Forgot to mention a couple things: I’ll probably get 2 of those great helmets and I’ll definitely use your link, and secondly, you pronounced the word “measure” just like my dad used to say it! I completely forgot how he said that! He will be gone 50 years this September and was raised in Joplin, MO. The little things in life.

These helmets are truly wonderful. My wife, cousin and I bought them and are great for group rides. I’m grateful for this video since by following the manual, we kept doing the initial + and - button pairing. Just now I realize you only have to push the center button! Wow, that makes it easier. One problem we continue to have is that only once have we been able to pair three helmets simultaneously. Manual says to push center button three times. We’ve done it a million times and only got it to work once! If you could expand on this video, it must be simple but the manual is a bit short on this explanation based on our frustration. But man, are these helmets worth every penny!!! ... hmm, just spent some time pairing all three helmets. Once paired, apparently you just push the center button on one helmet and they all connect. Hope it’s that east tomorrow!

My wife and I just finished a ride on bike path and used our new Sena R1. Fantastic!!! The ride was more fun. We talked the whole ride. Pointed out animals and views, warned of other bicyclist approaching, etc. For couples and groups, this is a qualitative boost. Maybe it will help later when we tackle street roads full of pot holes and distracted drivers.

We just purchased these today and haven’t used them yet, but I think that the intercom will really be helpful since my husband has hearing aids and he simply can’t hear me when were e biking. Also I think that we will use these helmets when were out on the lake kayaking. We usually try to stay in calm water so no worries about flipping over. We just got two Rad mini plus and are pretty excited. Watched a ton of videos and appreciated your thoughts and suggestions and input. Also noted the Bike helmet review and just received them and excited to get them set up. So far I have one major dissapointment........ I noted that your helmet included a GREAT ring binder with the instructions (looked like a large deck of cards with ring binder connecting them together) Ours both came with barely a few instructions/or even quick start. We have to go to the computer and down load the entire instructions. Not finding this very helpful. Would also like to be able to take actual set of instructions with us while biking to help navigate all the settings. Wondering if you know is there a way to get a set of instructions like you had from the company. I do not see that as option on their website. Happy travels and enjoy your informative videos.

That's a good question, and we're catching it a little late! If you're still wondering: Sena is a leader in the motorcycle communication market. As you can imagine, wind noise cancelling technology has to be top quality to handle wind speeds and noise that motorcyclists deal with. You'll find that the same type of technology, integrated into these helmets makes wind a non-issue :). The only caveat is when there is VERY gusty and inconsistent wind - but these are rare situations and the system still does a pretty great job.

    • @carlahlers9454

No, you don’t need a phone for the intercom or the radio features to work. Also, once you get a phone call, it disconnects from the group intercom. But once you end the call, it does not automatically return to the group intercom... you have to connect back in.

Nice helmet, definitely beats my Bell helmet. Your helmet's volume was so low we couldn't hear your finding radio segment, but kinda got it. Sort of like my Bluetooth headset. My biggest negative on the helmet, if you take a phone call the world hears the conversation, part of what's wrong with the world now, no privacy any longer. Thank you for sharing.

    • @senatechnologies

They are water resistant - they're made to withstand heavy rain, sweat, and dumping water over your head when you need to cool down! We just cannot call them waterproof since they're not made to withstand being and remaining submerged.
