Thanks! Very useful information that I was not finding in the User's Guide ie...the charging lights and blue light indicates "on". Just charging our new ones now. We are so tired of yelling and then yelling WHAT? Thanks again.
Battery life in one of mine is getting short. Where to get a replacement battery? Opened up the right side and found a 300ma, 3.7v 502030 battery with black, red, and yellow leads going into a plug. Not your usual 2-wire plug. Can’t find one online.
I'm going to ask a basic question. The $99 price is only for one unit, correct? If you plan on communicating with someone else you need to by two. Is that right?
I bought a pair sena pi for my wife and myself. We tried them out at our house and was about 450ft away and the headsets broke up. How much range have you gotten on yours?
Our apps close with an error when you go to Smart Intercom Pairing, but we easily pair manually by holding down the "-" on both devices at the same time. I can't figure out how, if possible, to go from listening to music on my phone back to communication. Assume that's not possible unless maybe through the app (that we can't use)?
When we connect, they both have to be turned on and connected to our phones. Then I do a long press on the bottom button, and when I let go there's a beep and we're connected. My guess as far as music goes, if your turn the music off then repeat the long press it should connect?
Do you need to have Bluetooth thru your phone? Say in areas without any type cell phone even with you. Just bought one for me and one for my boyfriend, but always ride without phones.
Wanted to thank you and give update, we bought the sena pi and attached to helmets and we love them!! The only reason I finally decided to buy was based on your review!! And I am very happy. The only thing is we had to connect them behind the ear strap due to our glasses. Maybe might want to add that to your review. We weren't sure if they would have sound clarity behind ear, but wow! Yes they do!! Ricks bike even began to make some noise and I could hear it! No wind sound, and no disruption ever. Also to note, once set up, no phone needed. Left them in the truck! Thanks again!!
@@BrianRouse it definitely works better then front part of strap. We ride w arms of glasses on top helmet strap and can't do that when they are in front. Had accident awhile back and my glasses almost hit my eye, from that day I never wore them under straps. Lol now that think about this, I wonder if other people have figured that out. It is really dangerous to wear glasses under straps.
Thanks buddy i may have to consider the r2 then which supposedly have a longer talk time of more than 10 hrs. Thanks for putting up the informative video on the product.
There’s no real wind noise control. If you’re riding into a strong headwind it’s definitely more difficult to communicate. Under normal riding conditions conversations are very clear.
@@BrianRouse So are these not useful for e-bikes that typically ride at a constant 30-40 km/h? That speed is very common, so if the wind noise on the intercom is too great they're not useful 90% of the time.
@@BrianRousefinally got a chance to test out the pi’s on a ride today. My wife said it was cutting out a lot and I had to repeat my self a lot. Not sure if it was my mic or what but I could hear her ok most of the time.
Brian, thank you for the thorough review.
Glad it was helpful!
Could be just what i maybe needing, now or down the future line....
We still use them on every ride! I made an update video on the headsets a month or so ago if you want to check that one out.

That sounds about what we get. About 1/4 mile on open roads, but less if we’re on opposite sides of a hill, for instance.
Hi Brian. How many riders can be conect? It's works for 3 riders?
The max seems to be three riders. That would be you and two others.
Thank you!
Thanks for watching! I’m creating an update to this video soon so keep an eye out LOL

I'm not 100% sure on that one. We always have our phones! Next time we're out I'll try it with them turned off to see what happens.

Thanks for your review. I will definitely buy it on my next trip to US. Do you know how long it takes to recharge it? From 0 to 100%.
Thanks for watching! Honestly I usually charge it overnight because I ride in the mornings. If I had to guess, I’d say maybe two hours?
How loud is the speaker? curious if i could hear a conversation with it right next to my ears while wearing earplugs (obviously not bike riding)
I don’t have any earplugs, so I put in my AirPods with noise cancelling turned on. I could hear a podcast with no issue trough the pi device.
Do you just talk to each other? or do you have to push a button to talk? (Thanks for this review !!)
Yep, you just talk. Once you’re synced you can freely communicate.
Do you know if they are water resistant?
I don’t know specifically, but I have worn them in the rain and had no problems.
Why Sena do not make the sound a hifi quality ?
I guess first and foremost it’s a communication device, not necessarily something to use for music.
Hows, the battery life when you turn on can it last more than 6
hours on a single charge?
It never lasted over six hours for me. Usually would last 5-6 at most.

@@ryan0io we ride e-bikes (closer to 30km) and have no problems. It only starts to lose functionality when you’re riding into a strong headwind.

It’s the best I’ve come across. We use them all the time without any issue and are still quite happy with them!
